It's good that you recognize you're not fueling your body enough. I agree with trying some kind of protein shake or smoothie in the morning, make it the night before and have it in hand in the morning.

I have about 80 to lose and I am starting now =) From what I've read it helps with fat loss as well as body composition - no reason to put off something that is part of what you're trying to achieve!

If you're losing inches but not pounds and working out at the gym you are most likely losing body fat and gaining muscle. Muscle is more dense than fat so, while you may weight the same, you are actually losing body fat. Ignore the scale for a while and just focus on losing those inches.
