  • OP---just to warn you, you might not have the proper stats for your popcorn, unless you're talking snack size bags. One bag popped is about 450 cals and 30 grams of fat...I love microwave popcorn but eat it rarely now because its usually pretty bad, unless its the 94% fat free, which tastes horrible in my opinion. Maybe…
  • Look into some DVDs. Most are really cheap (5 or 6 bucks at walmart, for example) and require little or no equipment. Even if it does require hand weights or something like that you can use water bottles, cans of soup, what ever you have on hand. Walk Away the Pounds is good for starters (there are even some full length…
  • I was 5'10 and about 235 for my first official timed 5k. I used the couch to 5k training app, I think mine was 10 weeks but you could probably skip week one easily enough since it sounds like you're already pretty fit. I say go for it! My first was back in September and I've done several others and am now doing a 10k, 15k,…
  • I got an FT7 from Amazon as well, right before the holidays, but scored mine for about $70. I love it...I've found MFP estimates to be pretty accurate, but love having it right there on my watch.

  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/265515-chicken-broccoli-penne Yum! Carbs, protein, and veg all in one :)
  • I've got a ton of fresh broccoli that needs to be eaten up....Perfect! Making this ASAP
  • I've got a red FT7 and love it. I went bright so I could spot it at the bottom of my gym bag, so I've got red/silver. *shrugs*
  • I've noticed I have those days when I haven't been getting enough sleep. Everything else-food, exercise, work, etc may be the same, but if I haven't had enough sleep my body acts like its ravenous all day (presumably to get more energy from sugar, protein, carbs, etc). I try to get more sleep ASAP, and in the mean time…

  • I got an FT7, and at a good price from amazon recently. Loving it so far, only wish it had a timer feature you could use while also measuring heart rate (I haven't had it long, so perhaps it has a feature like this and I just haven't spotted it, but I don't think so).
  • I just passed the 100 lb mark yesterday (!) and I started in earnest in February of 2012.
  • Last night I used it to make "yonanas" banana ice cream. PB2, cocoa powder, a splash of milk, and frozen banana slices blended up in the magic bullet. I've used it for Asian style stir fry sauces as well...Hoisin sauce, soy sauce, PB2, a splash of lime juice, and a little garlic and crushed red pepper.

  • 100 pounds will take a long time regardless of whether you work out at home or at the gym (I actually just hit the -100lb mark today!). I have a gym membership, but while I was away for the holidays I did 30DS at home and still got a great workout. If you aren't getting the results you want try pumping up the intensity or…
  • They have make your own grand slams (pick four from a list of many items) if you're in the mood for breakfast. I do two hearty wheat pancakes with sugar free syrup, two turkey bacon strips, grilled ham, and fruit and it comes in at less than 600 cals, which is quite a bit but it is super yummy and very filling!
  • Hmm...I was advised by my personal trainer that 1 gram per pound of LEAN body mass is good (AKA bones, muscle, organs but not fat). My lean body mass is 140lbs, so that's what I eat (can't imagine eating 1 gram/pound- that would be 200+g per day for me!). So perhaps get tested (I had a BodPod done) or try to calculate your…
  • You sleep like the dead that night!
  • I do a coffee protein powder shake-Iced coffee, milk (dairy, soy, almond, whatever you like), and a scoop to scoop and a half of whatever flavor protein powder you like. Or a protein smoothie-frozen fruit, Greek yogurt, a splash of liquid (water, juice, milk...), and some protein powder. I just couldn't get enough protein…
  • Might sound lame but consider something like knitting or needlepoint-once you've got the hang of it your hands are occupied but your mind really isn't-you can still watch your shows but will be consistently busy throughout so you're not tempted to go back into the kitchen for more and more snacks.
  • I do, usually several times a week! I've used a few brands and flavors but generally find it doesn't turn out well with hot coffee, in my experience (it gets really frothy and not yummy coffeeshop frothy...gag me nasty frothy). So, I brew some coffee the night before, stick it in the fridge and blend with protein powder, a…
  • I Googled "calories burned gazelle" and this was one of the first results: http://www.fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp Perhaps find a few of those different calculators, try them out, and average it?? Without a HRM that might be your best bet... ETA: You can then add that number to your "My exercises" and MFP will…
  • Haha love it! Glad to meet another runner #5. Sounds like you've had a great year!
  • I don't think there is any way you actually gained that much fat-its likely a lot of water retention from sodium, so don't panic too much. But yes-weekends are always harder to stay on track. Just keep trying, and keep logging-you may be eating more than you think...
  • Hmmmm sounds good! Bump!
  • One step at a time! Try a C25K (couch to 5k) app-there are tons for iPods, iPhones, Android etc and they are so helpful. They will tell you when to run and when to walk, gradually increasing your running time every week so you don't have to worry about figuring that out or keeping track of it on your own-typically you…
  • Bump! Love new uses for the PB2!
  • Yup....I believe its about 228 calories/serving when you account for the entire box of cake mix. Still not too bad for cake!
  • I like to do something to keep my hands busy, especially during commercial breaks when I'm apt to go look for a snack. I do cross-stitch, clip my finger nails, or flip through a magazine/newspaper now while in front of the tv...something to keep my hands (and mind) occupied...
  • bump...yum! These would be a great portion-controlled dessert for Thanksgiving or fall potlucks!
  • Am I the only one who thought of this: "I see you're drinking 1%. Is that because you think you're fat? Because you're not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to."
