  • So yes recruiting people and encouraging them to be at seriously low weights is scary, unhealthy and could be deadly. Someone said that maybe she was exaggerating the 85lbs...believe me she is not. I work with eating disorder patients and that is a weight that I see more then I'd like to. When these girls talk about…
  • Totally can't pass complete judgement just for Shut Up. We are a very close family. It's not like I'm yelling all the time or calling them hateful names. Funny thing is, I don't have to do it as much as i used to because they are responding a lot quicker now. And who said anything about it being acceptable in school? if…
  • I have literally made my husband hold mine up, MANY times during pregnancy, just so I could ask "How would YOU like having to carry these around all of the time?" I was a 32B/C in high school. I am now a 42DDD!! I have talked about getting a breast reduction, but my husband says that that would just be me being selfish…
  • why put your scale on the bathroom counter and flop one puppy at a time on there...of course
  • So here's my confession of feeling like a CRAP parent. I have taken to yelling SHUT UP. Of course this is proceeded by "Hush" "Be Quiet' "Enough" and then the SHUT UP comes out. Unfortunately lately it seems that my ids won't respond until the SHUT UP comes out. and then I spend the rest of the night/day feeling terrible.…
  • Yours might be the reverse....your mind is so fixated on the bad memories that the good memories are over-shadowed. hopefully the new therapist can help you sort this out. I am so excited for you!
  • My oldest son is a high functioning autistic. i SWEAR reading your post made me think of him. It made me smile, because sometimes he'll share his "novellas" with me. I LOVE to see where his brain is taking him!
  • OK..so first off GOOD for you for acknowledging that you need help and going to get it. I know it's not easy. How do I know?? because I'm a psych nurse. No not the mean scary ones they depict on tv and in the movies either :-) As far as the missing parts of your past...from dealing with my patients and a very close loved…
  • What kills me, is that there are so many mixed race individuals nowadays, they you would think some of this BS would quiet down. I had to explain what a "Spic" was the other day to my 6 year old son, because he heard a kid on the bus call another kid that. SERIOUSLY????
  • being able to see my toes when I look down. Now all I see is boobs and belly....So NOT Sexy!!!
  • Just curious as to why you're taking a prenatal vitamin everyday? Those have extra iron and folic acid in them. Where it is true that low iron causes hair loss....having too much iron can do it too. I was still taking prenatals after the birth of my son, because I was nursing him, but when they did a blood test my levels…
  • As a RN who works in a residential eating disorder rehab, I see how hard this is to recover from. I am SO proud of you! It gives me hope that what I'm doing really does make a difference. I wish you continued strength and success :-)
  • You look great! Awesome job!
  • So in my head I still have the same body that I had when I was 17...well that was 17 years, 3 kids, diagnosis of PCOS, and almost 100 pounds ago. *SIGH* I look in the mirror and think "How/When did that happen?" Funny thing is, is that most days I just see my face, even though my bathroom mirror shows almost my entire…
  • I TOTALLY NEED to join. I stepped on the scale today and realized that I am less then 5 pounds away from 250!! Unacceptable!!! Help!?!?!
  • This is true. If you are eating foods that your body can use, then there will be less waste. Junk food has barely anything your body wants, so it just gets rid of it. Dried apricots are wonderful, and so are warm liquids. Plum juice warmed up works for my patients. I am an RN and believe me at my rehab facility, I get to…
  • Yes it can be from the medication. Many doctors suggest you take your medications AFTER eating a good meal in the morning, because it can decrease appetite.
  • If you take the Metformin XR (extended release) it tends to not be as harsh on your GI system, because it is released gradually. Also starting low and building up slow, like over a few weeks is optimal. I take my 1500mg Metformin XR at night. I have had a few nights of "bubble guts", usually around a dosage increase, but…
  • I am a 42 DDD, so I know bounce. I was a B/C in highschool and I miss those boobs!! I miss running without hurting. I do have a sports bra that was a little bit of money, has eye hooks down the front, but it keeps the puppies at bay. I have no bounce while running. It's called an ENELL.
  • Mine is something that we try to teach our kids: that being a family is a team effort. So Team Langston it is. It's silly, but it works. Our boys even love to huddle up, yell "Team Langston" and throw their hands in the air, like athletes do before a game. Our boys do it before long road trips or what not :-) I also used…
