  • My goals for this week are: 1. Stay within calorie goal daily. 2. Workout in some way at least three days.
  • I started tracking on Wednesday and have ended each day in the green! And without feeling hungry.
  • I'm trying to get back into a good exercise routine. At home is where it needs to be sure to finances. I have videos and access to Netflx and the internet. My biggest struggle is finding the right time. Mornings, before work, would be ideal. Unfortunately, due to severe depression over the last couple of years (doing…
  • I'm just getting back to using MFP; so, my goal this week is simply to record my food every day.
  • I hope it's possible. :) I'm attempting something similar.
  • We haven't scheduled more than the wedding night but have talked about visiting CA. We have a limited budget and aren't exactly sure how much will be available for the honeymoon.
  • It takes a lot of courage to face our pasts but doing so is the only way to truly heal. Good for you for facing the journey.
  • My fiance doesn't like it either. He hates that DD and I were hurt so badly. He has grown accepting of our need to talk about it sometimes as part of the healing process. I am very grateful for his attitude about it. He really has helped me to learn to let go of the past and to embrace the joy and freedom we have now.
  • Thank you for the support and great ideas. I did sit down with DD and watch 27 Dresses last night. It helped. Sharing on here and getting some extra sleep also helped.
  • Thanks! I had chosen the colors before making the connection, but my fiance's name translates to "king" and he told me early in the relationship that he was looking for his "princess." I also live on a street with a "royal" name; so, it seemed fitting to use the royal colors as our wedding colors. Also, while we are…
  • I just copied and pasted this as a note into my Facebook page so I can find it easily and to share it with some friends who have not yet joined MFP.
  • I'm also a July bride (provided my fiance's visa comes through in time). My dresses are relatively simple in design and not terribly snug. I intend/hope to shed weight slowly but steadily until I reach my goal of 50-60 pounds gone. I expect this will take even after the wedding, but I'm okay with that. Congratulations to…
  • My fiance and I are members of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. We are planning a temple wedding for a Friday where I will wear white. That Saturday we plan to have a reception where I will wear a purple dress. I'm hoping to do the purple dress in the style of the Philippines national dress to honor my…
  • Frankenfood can also refer to foods that are genetically altered.
  • While I'm in my 30's, I have gone through the wedding thing before and am doing things differently this time. I'd love to share ideas.
  • I take a multi-vitamin formulated for women and 400 mg of Potassium. After a few weeks of consistently recording my intake (using a software program I have from a class I took) and being too low by half or more of my potassium intake, I added the supplement. It's only about 1/10 of what I need in a day, but combined with…
  • It's definitely easier to address tough subjects in written form rather than face to face. Doing so with my fiance has helped me gather courage for the face to face conversations.
  • I find that toast with peanut butter for breakfast keeps me going for about three hours. Then a yogurt and apple or something similar carries me until lunch. I usually eat more at lunch than at any other time of the day and find I'm not nearly as hungry later in the day, but mornings are definitely more difficult. Taking…
  • Thank you for serving our country and thank you for your courage in sharing your story. I hope you will find the support here you need and that others will be inspired to begin and/or continue their own journey of healing.
  • I've been having some weird dreams, but nothing related to the wedding. Sorry. I can imagine how disconcerting the dreams are.
  • I'm glad it went well. Good for you for opening up to him about it despite fear.
  • My day starts at 5am getting myself and my special needs daughter ready and out the door by 6 so I can be to work by 7am. I usually get home at about 5pm, fix dinner and get DD settled in bed as close to 7pm as possible. Then I study. I'm taking my classes online, but I rarely have time for fun. I'm in the same boat as you…
  • Thanks for sharing these. I needed the reminder. Now, to put it to good use in my life. :)
  • The Foster system helped me adopt my daughter. My life was turned right-side-up (though it didn't seem like it at the time) in September 2009. I'm glad that you and your children are safe and on the path to healing too.
  • I don't understand it either, but my therapist says simply they are sick. He agrees that it doesn't make what they did ok, though. Frankly, I could never understand what motivates the blatant unkindness in his family either. I've given up trying. :) His family blames me and even harassed and threatened me after the arrest…
  • I'm in a similar boat. My fiance is Filipino and not my taller than I am. To make matters worse, over the last ten months he has lost weight and I've gained. That seems to be changing and I do want to not look like a hippo next to him for our wedding. I did tell him he can't lose anymore weight because when he loses, I…
  • Something that I've found helpful is to truly CELEBRATE EVERY SUCCESS no matter how big or small. Good luck!
  • Surprisingly, I was never angry with the first person to abuse me. I was angry with my parents for not protecting me. I'd like to thank the therapist I saw during my first college experience who helped me work through my anger at my father. I'd also like to thank my father and his second wife (who has since succumbed to…
  • The advise kimbrooks15 gives is great! I especially like the idea of a self-defense class and I know from experience how helpful therapy can be. What you're going through is hard. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Also, and possibly most important, what was done to you was/is NOT your fault. The perpetrator(s) made the…
  • kimbrooks15: Your story is so similar to mine and the main reason I decided to join this group. My ex and I took in a little girl (my cousin's biological daughter) to raise. When my father asked if we'd be willing to provide her a home, we jumped at the chance. Just over three years later, she confessed to a friend at…
