  • Congrats on quitting!!! I quit 7 years ago after smoking for 22 years. Best freakin' thing I EVER did!!! Even better than dropping weight! So many benefits. It took me about a year to really get to a place that I felt better. I even then, i still felt the burning in my lungs when I ran. Today, younger guys on the soccer…
  • That is fantastic! The sideview is very dramatic. You should be very very proud of yourself!
  • Congrats! That is a super victory! One of many victories to come. I'm glad you posted it, you should be proud! WTG!
  • That is awesome! No matter how far, fast, or long you ran, you still ran further, faster, and longer than had you sat on the couch.
  • Well written. I totally understand where you are coming from. I only started in May of this year, but I love the run. I love the experience, and the feeling I get when it is done, which lasts most of the day. Although there are a number of times at work, when I have run in the morning, and in the afternoon, I want to leave…
  • Runkeeper is the best one that I have used. Once you get it set up, you can set your own routes online, and then choose the route that you are running for the day, as well as what playlist to play as you are running, and set it to announce whatever you want, as often as you want, based on time or distance.
  • OMG! :-) I am sorry but I laughed at the Meatloaf comparison. Yes, i can see it. What a transformation, and beating diabetes...wow! You are an inspiration. You look fantastic! And most important, you sound happy! Woohoo! Congratulations!
  • Wow dude, that is truly fantastic! Just amazing. Well done!
  • Totally awesome, dude! Congratulations! I would say you should be proud, but I'm sure you would not have posted if you were not, and rightly so. You are inspiring.
  • Welcome to the club! LOL I deleted my Facebook account about a year ago. I hated all the gossip, and information that I got about people that I was no longer rl friends with. For the the people who are close to me, I know what's going on. I share pics with family from my Google album. I much prefer it.
  • Fantastic work, Daniel! Holy smokes, what a change! That is very inspiring! Thank you for sharing!
  • ^This^ And hearing 80% of the people who ask me what I do for cardio, and I say run, and they say I can't do that I have bad knees. How the hell can 80% of the people I know have bad knees?? Ok, fair enough, maybe I attract bad knee people. I guess this is not a misconception, but a common excuse.
  • I put mine away, and usually a few others that I pass along the way to cart coral. I seriously hate lazy people. Nothing annoys me more than when I see someone who puts their bags in their car, then just leaves the cart in the middle of the parking lot, or worse, against someone's car. I have noticed that often these are…
  • I am so sorry for your loss. :-( I lost my dad in October of last year. It still hurts. It gets better, you start to me thankful for every single moment, good and bad. My condolences to you.
  • I am no expert, but I will share my experience. I run pretty much every morning, although I miss the occasional day. I started about 3 months ago, but I also play soccer, where I run a lot too (I play centre midfield). I run about 5k each morning. I run in the neighbourhood of my office during the week (we have a shower in…
  • OMG! You look sensational! Great job! You sound so active now too, that is awesome!
  • Fantastic job! Your progress is both impressive, and inspiring. I am glad that you are proud of you, you absolutely should be!
  • From your first pic to your last pic, I would not have known this was the same person. You have made such a transformation, it is so impressive. You have such a nice smile too! Congratulations on your success!
  • Holy smokes! You look fantastic! That is just so impressive, you should be so proud of all of your hard work, and success. Thank you so much for sharing.
  • All depends on taste I guess, but I sometimes have a soda water with lime. I get the flavoured carbonated drink that i think I miss, and I am good to go.
  • I love the endorphins for sure!. i love when a song that really pumps me up (could be a different one depending upon my mood), comes on, and makes me want to run faster or jump as I run. I love the feeling of the sweat on my back and my chest as run. I love when I beat my previous run time too. :-)
  • You look sensational! Congratulations! I can really see the difference in all three pics.
  • I quit. I drank a lot in my 20s. I cut down in my 30s, then realized when i did drink, that i did not enjoy the feeling (during or the next day), so I ended up just quitting. Now I would not drink alcohol for pretty much the same reason that I won't drink soda, its just pointless calories to me. I will drink one Guiness…
  • Toronoto here. Feel free to add me. I am on every day.
  • That was such a great read! And the pics are great too! Congratulations on an amazing success story. That is just an incredible transformation.

  • I am going to try this too!!! My youngest daughter and I LOOOVE pumpkin pie!!!
  • That is sooooooo cool! My kids are going to want to try this. :-)
  • That is awesome! Each time I seen these success stories, it is usually about someone's change in physical appearance and amazing weight loss. This post is different, I like it. It points out the everyday benefits of being fit. That is a fantastic success story! Thank you for sharing!
