  • [/quote] Keep in mind the shoes need replaced every 300-500 miles too, I find it easiest to log the miles per shoe (I have 3 pairs I rotate between) on dailymile. I'm so sorry, I misread. I thought you were running the entire half marathon, I see now it's a relay. You have PLENTY of time. Do a couch to 10k and you'll be…
  • I have fitted running shoes already so I at least have that under my belt. I will be running a little more than a 10k for this race so I'm thinking a couch to 10k type program will probably be most helpful. I don't have much of a base right now as it has been a few months since I have last ran (no gym membership during a…
  • I've gotten it all my life, however, the worst and most lasting was from my ex. I was about 60 pounds lighter than I am now and he would never once tell me I was pretty. He would always say "You're working on it". He would then constantly comment on how big other people are when they were smaller than i was and then…
  • Do you honestly think that if it was as easy as not eating or drinking or snorting whatever, there would even be addicts? I'm sorry but that is a very dismissive way of approaching a serious topic/disorder. I appreciate that for you, that's a solution but for many of the people here, it's not just mind over matter and…
  • I'm not frequent to the message boards, granted I read a lot of them, but I don't often post. I have posted a few new threads myself actively seeking advice. Honestly, I would rather be bombarded with a bunch of responses telling me I should or shouldn't do something, or have people provide me with solid data on why they…
  • I'm struggling now. I actually just posted a thread asking for help so thank you, all of you for the stories you posted here. I find that I have a lot of excuses as to why I can't make the change I want to make. I'm starting to realize that I probably don't want it as much as I've been telling myself. OR at least I don't…
  • I'm feeling more at home with each post I read. I am learning to love my tiger stripes or zebra, your choice really...I hate when I know more about vehicles than guys (happens way more than I would like). I refuse to drive an automatic and plan on buying my own motorcycle as soon as I'm no longer a broke graduate student.…
  • We should hang out, porters all around. The less heard of the brewery the better! Oh and my boobs never get smaller when I lose weight...how is that possible?
  • in high school, around 2001: at my smallest in 2010: currently at my graduation ceremony for my Master's program:
  • Coming for a psychology point of view, any time you have TOO much or TOO little of something so that it starts to consume your every day living activities, there may be an issue. Becoming obsessive over anything is not healthy even if it is a healthy activity. I'm not saying that being conscious of what you are putting in…
  • This is pretty much the story of my life because I couldn't live happily on a 1200 calorie diet. I am now eating 1550 a day, plus my exercise calories. It may take me a little longer to lose the weight, but at least I know when I go into maintenance mode I can keep it up instead of starving myself and constantly craving a…
  • I'm working on running a half marathon in October. I haven't been training like I should and I'm quite terrified that I'm not going to be able to do it because I've been slacking.
  • Beautycounter! Color cosmetics are coming out this fall but I can't live without my lotion, face oils or rosewater spray!
  • I HATE running while I'm doing it but love it when I'm done. I completely understand what you mean about walking faster than you can run, my legs just don't seem to understand that concept. I've done Couch to 5k a few times. The first time it was all about endurance for me. I ignored the whole time piece and just worked on…
  • The way I always look at it is kind of like filling up your gas tank on your car. You need enough fuel to make it run and get you where you're going, but you don't want to overfill the tank because that just makes a mess.
  • I love foster failures!!! and pit bulls! I have a weiner, viszla, jack russel mix and a lab pit mix.
  • I don't know if your planet fitness offers it, but mine has a free meeting with a trainer that can show you how to properly use the machines so you don't cause injury. They will also develop a plan specifically for you depending on what you want to work on. Again, I don't know if your location does it but it's worth…
  • I am 5'6 and at my smallest I weighed about 145 wearing size 6 jeans. I personally hate the BMI scale because according to it I am obese while wearing size 9 jeans. Everyone's body is different and I agree that this is something you should talk to your doctor about. It may just be a matter of toning up and adding more…
  • I live in Burlington 2 miles from the trail heads for the Farmington Canal trail. Love it! Especially when the weather is nicer, you barely notice how far you're going and how much exercise you're getting because it's so pretty.
  • I had mine out laproscopically on December 17th and I've been doing great since then. No issues with food, more energy and after 2 weeks I felt pretty much normal. No heavy abdominal exercises for the first month but other than that I can do things I didn't do before my surgery.
  • So sorry, my old lady doesn't have much time left and I am dreading that day. I lost my amstaff not long ago and it is like losing a part of yourself.
  • Delilah, 13 year old lab pit mix Gulliver, 2 year old jack russel, daschund, vizla mix (best guess) both rescues
  • So it's been 4 days since surgery, after a quick trip back to the er on Wednesday for dehydration I'm doing ok. I realized pretty quickly that my detox diet was going to have to wait until after I'm off pain meds and therefore don't need to rely on carbs in order to coat my stomach and ward of nauseau. The pain is…
  • Thank you all for the support. The biggest surgery I had was my tonsils and adenoids and I went home the same day, I was also sick and all I remember is getting a bell to ring to get my parents attention. Going to be my first hospital stay and I'm nervous, but I'm trying to think positive thoughts. I'll let everyone know…
  • Just recently fell in love with Arbonne. Almost became a consultant but have a bit too much going on right now.
  • That's one way of looking at it ;)
  • 1) Trust is a big issue. 2) I just don't know where to meet people. 3) I'm taking this time in my life to work on me, getting my health on the right track and I'm in grad school so time is limited. 4) I feel like what I'm looking for in a guy/relationship may not exist.
