I had a small plate of food today, and I had something similar happen. I ate my veggies and meat first, and the time I made it about half-way through the potatoes I was done. And I put a whole cup of them on my plate! :) I think the ginger ale helped though. Heh.

Homemade eggnog. Hehe.

I just started logging earlier this month, so perhaps I'm biased, but... I don't see myself stopping logging, unless they're for stretches of time like I'm on vacation or it's the holidays, etc. I like cataloguing things (good think I'm working in a library ;) ), so I don't find it at all tedious.

"It does not matter how slow you go so long as you do not stop." -- Confucius Admittedly this comes from Tumblr's customize page. Heh.

My SO has a "Cookies and Cream" protein shake he uses. I'll have to go find out the brand name. Despite it's name, it's pretty low in cals and sugar.

Métis-Canadian. :)

It's also pretty hetero- and cis-normative, to boot. Personally I would prefer not to get the compliment, as it implies I did it for them, or if they didn't prefer me beforehand. I did this for me, and no other. *shrug*

The thing about childhood is that the habits you develop in your formative years are the hardest to break, because we're meant, as human beings, to learn how to do things that will help us develop skills so we'll survive on our own. However, when we suffer from abuse or are shown the wrong habits to adopt (like over-eating…

No thank you. I'm not going to shame my friends and family into eating better or getting more exercise. I would definitely NOT like it if someone did it to me, and I'm already doing my best! So why would I want to do it to others?

Actually, you can get additional health care here in similar ways to the US: through where you're employed, where you're going to school, or you can pay for "better" types of health care beyond the standard provincial health care, which is there so even if you're absolutely dirt poor, you still have access to health care…

People are fleeing Cuba and Mexico because they're told the US is the "best place in the world" to make money to send back home to the families. Little do they know of the rampant racism that runs amok against "foreigners". And it doesn't take "forever". If it's critical, you'll be seen really, really soon. But we still…

Bannock. I wish there was a low-cal flour. Hahaha.

This legitimately gives me hope. If I have as much strength and self-motivation as you do/did, I can do it too. :) Keep it up!

I always roll my eyes at the whole "sugar is just as hard to kick as heroin" statements, too.

Boobs get saggy sooner or later. Lol. There are various theories as to whether wearing a bra or not wearing a bra causes sagginess. I don't wear one because I have to wear underwire anyways, and there are no "regular" bras in my size. Also I'd just sweat far too much. The last time I did my ribs really hurt.

I'm wearing yoga pants; I don't have pockets. :)

"Letting yourself go" is up there with "Losing your virginity" on my "Most annoying phrases that seriously need to go" list.

Your 3 lbs loss may have been because you raised your calorie intake for a small period. I know this is recommended as a way to get past plateaus. Not entirely sure of the science behind it, but apparently it works really well.

I'd really suggest going to a bra-specific store and having them help you find the bra that fits you. I'm nearly impossible to find a bra for, because mine are too big for my actual body size (36M, 5'2"), and I'm awaiting consultation for reduction. I was wearing DD's for at least two years before I was finally able to go…

I think that's awesome that you're trying to recover. *offers e-hugs* :) Good luck to you, hon!

Even if your attitude did change (which I highly doubt it didn't change for the worse, but rather for the better. Good on you for not letting people use you or walk all over you! :) )... do you really want a person who acts like that as your friend? There are people I no longer even want to hear about because when they…

I'm always confused too. Also with the hypersexualization of women, where we have our own bodies sexualized without our permission. See: the attitude people have towards hypersexualized advertising compared to a woman just doing some simple breast-feeding for her child.

We frequently have months here where it never gets higher than -35C with or without the windchill. I seem to recall last year there being at least two weeks where it never went above -40C with the windchill (and because I live in the prairies, there is almost always a windchill every day). So I'm okay staying indoors. :)…

Or that "fat" people can't have anorexia, or any eating disorder. There may be more information out there about eating disorders, but most of the time it's incorrect or falsely skewed, and ends up hurting everyone suffering in the end. :/

Working out less until you can get to that intensity your trainer mentioned is probably a good idea. As much as our minds believe we can kick ALL the machines' *kitten*, it soon becomes apparent our bodies just can't keep up. :) It's why people who are not in at least some shape can get the full effect from work-out…

I find that day dreaming helps. I use music to help change my thinking, as it were. Puts me in an altered state where I'm mostly "ignoring" my body and I'm able to run for longer. And having the right music helps for running, too. Sorry that's not much help. :/

The media tries to convince us that we are never skinny enough. Unless we look like models on a runway, we are not skinny enough. (And then the industry convinces the models themselves that THEY arn't skinny enough.) So yeah, she could be seeking for attention, but I think it's even sadder if she actually believes it, and…

I agree with the above. There isn't much an ER will be able to do for you, beyond advising you going to a doctor and getting a pregnancy test done. Especially if you're not in any pain. You may be having your period, but it's very light. Because I have an IUD, I'll get some really minor spotting that often not even red,…
