I don't think that was a grammar critique earlier. I read "get back on the wagon" as advice. Simply stated, you fall off, then you must get back on to continue your weight loss journey.
-
But, but, but people-- I *swear* I put weight on that quickly. Every time I hear that saying I shudder!!!
-
It is a never-ending battle. There is no finish line. Until I understood this, I kept regaining what I had lost. It was an a-ha moment, but may seem obvious to others. Maybe everyone needs to discover this for him/herself. Add me as a friend if you wish.

Well said, tleaonhardt! I was all, "I gave up beer and fish 'n chips."
-
professor?

Also, remember that you are nursing. My guess is that your body may be "fighting you" to retain enough fat stores for the baby. Some people lose easily while nursing, and some, like me, experienced a big "whoosh" and lost weight when nursing was over. My son quit cold turkey (ow!). You may want to ask your doc about it.

Ah! You are so young! Good job deciding to do this *now* rather than waiting another 5, 10, 20 years.
-
144.6 woo hoo! Take THAT, you plateau!!!! (watch me plateau again for saying that).

Week 1: 146 Week2 : 146 Week 3:146 Week 4: 145.2 FINALLY IT BUDGED!!!! I am so excited about this after seeing NOTHING for about a month and a half. Yes! Goal weight: 139.9999 Things I like about myself: 1. I laugh at myself a lot. 2. I like my personality. 3. I go above and beyond when others need help. Things I don't…

Thank you Jersey! I just need to be a sad-sack for a little bit longer-- then I'll be ok.
-
I am 5'7" and I *used* to be in my 20's and I *used* to be 165-- does that count???? ; )

Sw: 146 W!:146 W2: 146 Added--- Challenge goal weight: Anything under 140. How about 139.9999999999. I thought my scale might be broken, but my husband didn't weigh 146! I'm at a plateau-- but at the same time, I haven't been "pushing it." I admit I don't have the highest amount of motivation. I think if the scale would…

SW: 146 Week 1: 146 No loss AGAIN GW: 135 (or anywhere under 140)

I thought our first weigh-in would be on Monday the 20th-- I remember reading that somewhere! Edit: Never mind! Weigh in on 19th, posted on 20th! OK!

Starting weight:146 (also, evidently, my "stuck" weight). Goal weight: 136 Challenges: NOT blowing off a day because I mess up a little. PATIENCE is a challenge for me. Frustration is a challenge. Emotional eating is a challenge. My restaurant-lifestyle is a BIG challenge. Strengths: I love to exercise and do it every day…

Congrats everyone, and thank you Jersey for doing all this work. Rock the red lipstick!

That was a really sweet post, Kristi!

Still 146. I thought I would do much better. Well, at least I shedded what I gained over the holidays.
-
Still stuck at 146. I did check in last week but it didn't get logged for the group. I'm starting not to believe this eating-back-the-exercise-calories stuff. And, yes I have read all the info about this on this site. I'm going to go back to my old way of doing things...eat 1500-1800 calories, and exercise daily. I don't…
-
I do that kind of thing too. Like eating is going to solve anything???? My body and some part of my brain think so. Best of luck on your case-- I'm really sorry that happened.
-
Grr.No change this week. I know it's coming though. My body holds on to weight, saying "are you serious?" Then when I show it I am, it says "oh *alright* I GUESS." So that's the stage I'm at now. Next week I fully expect to be lighter. 146

I'm thinking of adjusting my goal too-- that's LIFE! LIfe calls for adjustments, You are doing very, very well. My experience is that my weight has to get used to a new "weight decade" for a while before it will drop again. Let's just all hang in there for the long haul and we will make it!!!!!
-
I'm a Rush fan, does that count?
-
Weigh in: 146! I think I need to be more realistic about my V Day goal, though. I don't think I can keep up this rate, but you never know! Start: 150 Week 1: 148.4 Week 2: 146 Challenge: Water, dealing with restaurant eating.
-
Ok! Starting weight: 150 Goal weight: 139.999999999 Week 1: 148.4 Challenge: Don't cry for me, Argentina, but I have a life-style where I have to go out to restaurants five nights per week. It is very, very, hard to estimate calories on these nights, and it is extremely hard to estimate in advance and then budget my…

It is really important to read the book. There are myths out there that just won't die. The induction phase is not zero carbs. The induction phase is only for the first 2 weeks, then carb levels are adjusted upward.

These are some of my goals for 2012: 1. Find a way to lower anxiety-- something that does not involve food or alcohol. Exercise helps immensely, but there is a limit to how much I can do. Plus I need to stop those self-flogging thoughts that hit me early in the morning. 2. Lose 12 pounds (the EASY part), AND KEEP IT OFF.…

Yes! Take any victory you can! My scale is making teeny-tiny changes--I guess it is saving it all up for my big weigh-in day on Tuesday. *hopes!*

I love it because of the short time involved. I have used my Polar to calculate calories burned. I burn around 220 for level one and level 2(I weigh around 148). One thing, though.....even though Jillian glibly says that "anyone can do jumping jacks" some people can't do them without peeing their pants.
