It seems a the majority feel that I won't die as long as I continue to enter my log. This strikes me as a very fair price to pay for immortality. However, If I don't enter my log, not only will I die, but I'll turn into a Zombie - which in my opinion is kind of cool.

Take what is a rational amount of food. Eat it. Don't put the excess food on the table in front of you, otherwise you will be tempted to eat it. I have the same problem. I consciously push the food away from me so it is out of reach, or better yet, out of sight. After all, out of sight, out of mind.
