Hi everyone, I have hundreds of posts to read and no time to do it now, but the end of August has served as a wakeup call for me. I made no progress toward my fitness goals in August. I'm still trying to find a rhythm with my new job, but it's now been 6 weeks and it's time for me to get with the program again! No more…

@PackerFanInGB ALSO thinking of you @slittlemeister Great job holding fast...I find super long work hours mess with my health plans more than anything else...just remember she will come back! Just For Today: 1) Drink 8 glasses of water before work at 6 pm. 2) Pre-log my menu and stick to it. 3) Make grocery list for…

Today...was a day. I overslept and was late for my doctor appointment, treated myself to lunch out (just soup and salad at Olive Garden, no big calorie spend right? except I went wild on breadsticks...) then was too full, didn't accomplish all the crap I had to get done today and fell asleep while cooking dinner and am…

I very nearly made roast me with a side of cat. I put on some water to boil for pasta, then fell asleep. I woke up with and there was just a tiny bit of water left that hadn't boiled away! Rather than tempting fate by trying again I ate an apple and now I'm in bed again.

Today I plan on opening a can of Bush's vegetarian baked beans. I'll probably microwave the beans and may add a little ketchup. That's pretty easy. But really, there's a vast variety of levels of easiness. I made this Thai vegetable curry a few days ago and it was delicious and ready in under half an hour including…

1. Be kind. (I'm stealing this one.) I think I did okay on this today at work. 2. Pre-log my day and stick with my plan. Fail. Pre-logged and packed my lunch, but left it out on the counter instead of taking it to work with me, so now I have to correct my journal. 3. Drink 8 glasses of water before leaving for work at 3…

You're getting up as I'm going to bed! Oh, the intricacies of timezones. ;) Keeping warm thoughts for your sister and you.
-
Your attitude inspires me. I can get bogged down sometimes, but not today after you set me such a great example. <3

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about with the two of you. If anything, I am possibly too much of a rule follower. I find it stressful to break rules...except when it comes to my health when part of me is like "let down your hair and have a snack..or have 4 snacks...." Sorry to hear about your bite. :(

It sounds like YOU are the riddlemaster because you solved it. Pretty sure that means you win. ;)

Thank you. Truthfully, the best judge of whether I'm communicating my thoughts isn't me, it's the person reading it. Maybe it''s a reaction to the book I read...powerful books always humble me...a kind of, "oh, yeah, you think you can write? THIS is what a person who can write looks like..." It was "Little Fires…

Well, my day was less than stellar, foodwise, but I FEEL so much better. The margarita may have had something to do with it... I hope those of you going through difficult times know that sending you positive thoughts isn't limited to this thread. You are all courageous, whether it's a loss, or the fires, or just the day to…

This thread needs a little bit of funny, I think, so let me tell you about my silly thing that happened today. (Possible TMI warning.) I have been snacky and craving sweets and super tired for almost a week now. Sleeping like the dead, waking up tired and hungry and grouchy and just wanting to Eat All The Things,…

So very sorry for your loss and my heart breaks for your DH. I would be beside myself if something happened to my little brother. My heart goes out to you too, Mary, and for your loss, also, Bex.
-
I forgot too! Thank you for reminding me. You can hold on. It's rough when you're tired, I know. <3

Yay for your loss! And wtf at Business Development Guy. Even the fact that he phrased it as "need to get some wins" would have had me rolling my eyes, to say nothing of the silliness of the policy. Let's carry that out to its logical conclusion...by that standard, he should be spending all his time "teaching" the best…

Congratulations again! And you look terrific! I love your entryway. Today was going to be my day off, but I broke my fast food self-challenge last night for August (no fast food on my way home from work unless I specifically planned and pre-logged) so I decided to reclaim some of my money (the money I can get back, but not…

I second the baked potato chips. I like them, they're fine, but the calories are WAY out of line for the taste satisfaction. If I'm going to spend that many calories, I'll take a regular potato chip. I have more weight to lose than a lot of people on this board, so I have more calories to work with and right now I pretty…

JFT Sunday: 1. Log everything I eat and stay under goal! >:) 40 calories over, darnit. 2. Drink 8 glasses of water. o:) One to go but I'm going to hit it! 3. Non-Aldi grocery shopping. o:) 4. Finally make the chickpea curry that I cooked the chickpeas for on Thursday. o:) 5. Meal planning through Wednesday of this week.…

Yay! Glad you pulled yourself out of your funk and reclaimed mastery of your day! I ended up making a coleslaw with a spicy peanut soy sauce dressing and two frozen boca burgers. Not exactly cooking extraordinaire, but it was tasty. Then I got into the B&J's because I had a few extra cals, but I made the mistake of eating…

My tofu is sour. :( So much for the dinner I had planned. Now I have to figure out something else.
-
I really like the Ginger Lime Diet Coke, but apart from that I haven't been impressed with the new flavors. And I guess you could say the Coke Zero Sugar is sweeter than Coke Zero, but what I don't care for is it's missing the zing of crispness at the end. It's definitely a downgrade in my opinion. I'm down to mostly…

I like this and it comes together really quick: Thai Green Curry with Mixed Veggies

A good bit of the pint of Ben and Jerry's peanut butter half baked non-dairy in my freezer. It's so hot I don't want to turn on the oven for the crispy tofu I planned for dinner. Eating ice cream for dinner would certainly solve that problem!
-
[hug] I felt like that on Friday. Sorry to hear you're blue. I have been there and know the struggle. I was just contemplating whether I had enough motivation to make the dinner I've planned or if I should just eat leftovers from lunch! I'd like to offer a deal: I'll cook if you will!
-
Is this something you made or something I can purchase? Sounds super yummy.
-
So sorry to hear about both of your smoke situations. Will keep you in my thoughts.
-
That's a great NSV and fingers are crossed that you have a positive weigh in tomorrow!

I have a lot of stuff to get done today and I need a little extra accountability, so my list is going to be longer than usual... JFT Sunday: 1. Log everything I eat and stay under goal! 2. Drink 8 glasses of water. I've figured out if I have two with my morning meds and two more with breakfast, then it's easy to get 6, 8,…

Probably apples. I eat a lot of different kinds of fruit, but when I run out of apples, I go shopping. I currently have Envy and Gala. Also most things I cook have onions or garlic or both.
