@Bex953172 I'm doing good on your quilt! I forgot to answer you a few days ago. it's coming right along. It is going to be the size of a twin size bed though...sure isn't a tiny baby quilt!
So very sorry for your loss and my heart breaks for your DH. I would be beside myself if something happened to my little brother.
My heart goes out to you too, Mary, and for your loss, also, Bex.2 -
This thread needs a little bit of funny, I think, so let me tell you about my silly thing that happened today. (Possible TMI warning.)
I have been snacky and craving sweets and super tired for almost a week now. Sleeping like the dead, waking up tired and hungry and grouchy and just wanting to Eat All The Things, Especially Sweet Ones.
Which is very much unlike me, as I am a salty/savory girl all the way. I even posted about it on my mfp status because it was so weird. Most of you can probably see where this is going, but I was completely oblivious.
Then today, backache and I'm super uncomfortable at work, and finally when they ask if anyone wants to leave early, I do, because I'm just so miserable. I eat pizza for dinner, get home, and dive into the non-dairy ice cream and suddenly, bingo...Flo. I can't believe I didn't see it coming as I had EVERY symptom imaginable, but I get them so seldom that it wasn't even on my radar. Blinding moment of clarity and I had to giggle at my own obtuseness.3 -

@PackerFanInGB - I’m so very sorry. It must be very hard to console your partner through a shocking loss like that. Wishing you lots of strength and patience x
@Bex953172 - petition signed. It’s a really important cause and I hope you have success with it. I used to work in lobbying and wonder if you’ve met your local MP to talk about it? August is generally a quieter time in politics so if you’re up for it try and make an appt with him or her and ask if they can raise it in Parliament. They work for you so no harm in trying!
Hugs to those struggling - seems a lot of sadness at the moment. I’m thinking of you all x4 -
@PackerFanInGB I'm so sorry for your and your husbands loss, I really don't know what to say! But here for you if you need it, hope your husband gets through this x3

I thank God my brother is still with us for now. They are going to send him to hospice. We generally know what that tends to mean.
Thank you nickssweetheart... You're appreciated🌹2 -

I wouldn't even know what to say lol!
It's not a petition I've created, someone else did but it speaks to me a lot (obviously)
It's a bit of a taboo though isn't it, when people lose babies in these circumstances so I dunno.
I wouldn't even know what I'd say to the local MP.1 -
Today is a new day... We make the best of this day.
We hope for a better tomorrow. We find ways to squeeze joy out of sorrow. We savor the moments of today and borrow from the drops we squeeze today and add them tomorrow...
I love you in the moments... It gets stronger and sweeter as time goes.🌹
Thank you all💝4 -

Ohhhhh my god. My nice relaxed evening has turned to fixing teddy and dinosaur!
The stupid dog had ripped open teddy's tummy and pulled out all his stuffing and chewed off the dinosaurs spikes!
Gonna have 2 unhappy girls in the morning!
I don’t know how you keep up with three girls and a dog! When my girls were young my husband drove truck and I worked full time. The thoughts of having one more thing to take care of just exhausted me!
Even now I don’t like the gardening my husband insists on because it’s something for me to do.
You are such a great mom, partner, caregiver. You need to give yourself a pat on the back! I probably would have dealt with trars and thrown the stuffirs out. Your girls will appreciate it one day.2 -

Thanks for the smile!!! Sorry for your visitor. My doctor and I talked about weight loss on Thursday when I saw her. She said it’s almost impossible for women to lose weight the week leading up to their cycle. I can’t remember exactly how she worded it, but basically our colons tighten up and tries to hold onto everything at the same time I hormones go crazy trying to help us get all the nutrients we can so we eat constantly.3 -

I need to do something with the brands today, I have a project I want to do outside, I just don’t know if I’ll be able to do it with them or if I should find another activity.
I have decided I want to do something for my birthday this year. Yesterday I saw a sign for a Hoedown for the hungry. It’s an old fashioned barn dance. I just need to find out if any friends and family will join me for it. 😂
Today is one of my maintenance days I allow myself, I’m going to attempt to be in Green though since Friday was so bad.
Hugs to all.2 -
@PackerFanInGB I'm so so sorry for your loss! I don't know how I would handle if I lost my brother. Hold onto your husband like your lives depend on it
@maryrobinson40 I'm glad you have a bit more time with your brother. Cherish it.
Both of you are in my prayers.
So I have no idea what's wrong with me. Flo is a week late. I've been randomly nauseous. My back hurts. I've been eating like a maniac. But I just took a test and it came back negative. If I don't get a visit in a few more days I guess I'll take another test. I really don't like the nausea. It makes me feel so uncomfortable.
Idk. This weekend had been good so far but I've been really tired. I guess I've been tired for a while now actually. And it's not like I don't get enough sleep!
I am going to set a few goals though.
1. Attempt to log food
2. Finish laundry
3. Takes out trash
4. Finish dishes
5. Burgers for dinner
6. Shower/teeth/face by 930
7. Tech off by 1015
8. Lights out by 112 -
Goals for Sunday, August 19th
Fix a healthy lunch
Try to walk for 45 minutes this afternoon
Clean out one more shelf in the pantry (on going job to remove unhealthy foods from pantry)
Try to organize the Pryrex cabinet
Drink water

It’s been many many years since I was purchasing pregnancy tests but I know they used to have a lot of false negatives. Maybe try again in a few days.3 -

Definitely leave it another week before testing, every pregnancy I've had its taken a couple of weeks for the pregnancy test to detect the hormone. Fingers crossed for you!3 -
Thank you @Bex953172 and @Snowflake1968
I'm gonna wait till next weekend to try another one.
I just had some lightly buttered toast and took some antacids. I'm hoping it works! Any tips on dealing with nauseous?0 -

Ginger related things are meant to help2 -
Definitely ginger just as BEX said.
BEX- Sorry about the dog eating the toys. Ours did the same thing and so far Jeb is carrying the poor little critters minus stuffing around.I was going to mend and add back filling but I did not yet.
Sunday-Ate out but only 690 calories so that's doable with day. 6 glasses of water so far. Just ave to hold on, drink more water, and keep out of mischief until tomorrow.
MONDAY-1 exercise class, watch calories and no sodium, 2 hours school with kid, devote 1 hour to laundry and another hour to quilt for church charity.

Dry saltine crackers are supposed to help too. I suffered from “morning sickness” all day and ginger ale helped. Crackers didn’t work for me but I heard that it does for others.1 -

Wow, now 65 new posts since I last looked! Will have to catch-up later, for now...
Recap F 8/17 ~ Amazing difference in my mood once I determined I needed to shift my attitude! Good thing, too, since we received our new "office locations" and "roommates" notice Friday afternoon, via email & then manager left for the weekend ~ nice, huh? Anyway, my new office-mate is someone no one really wants to be with (frequent/barky cough, very loud annoying laugh, kind of dumb), but I will make the best of it ~ she is a sweet person who works later hours, so I can have a quiet start in the office every morning. My current chatty office-mate will be next door with my favorite co-worker, so I like that. I lose my window location, bummed about that, but still have a window in our new room, maybe will be better for reading my monitors since my cataracts are definitely effecting that aspect of my job. See how I'm trying to see the positives?
1) Walked dog before work (still warm & muggy, not as bad as yesterday) / 3.32 mi 58:47 & saw turkeys, including babies, at park / stretched = happy dog & happy me
2) Move hourly / stairs breaks at work = Fitbit 17,324 steps, 250+ steps 14/14 (boom!) & 69 floors
3) Usual meals (eating up leftovers+) & snacks / prelog rest of day / net calories green / > 12c water = Net calories green (logged lots of kitchen prep time + dog walk), sodium -924, sugar -31, fiber excellent, protein low 14c water
4) Evening: prep salads & dessert / finish setting lunch table / organize entree ingredients & sliced 1# mushrooms / wash dishes ~ finally done almost 10pm, good thing I told BFF I wouldn't meet them on City Deck for free music
5) Unplug 9:00 / floss / retainers / bed & TV off 10:15 nope (farmers market before 8am)
Sat. my mom, dad, aunt & uncle visited (3hr round trip drive) & had lunch at our house. Prepared a healthy, yummy meal + chocolate zucchini cake, and I logged everything later. We wandered around the botanical gardens in the afternoon, only 2 miles from our house, and searched out 12 giant Lego sculptures on the grounds ~ so cool! Dog was sad, because I decided not to cram a walk in after the farmers market, and before getting myself ready and food in the oven. Tried keep my usual (simplified) JFT goals of net calories green, activity (for a rest day) & water. = Not too bad, net calories -126, sodium -147, sugar-24, fiber & protein good, 12c water. Fitbit 11,608 steps, 250+ steps 10/14 & 27 floors.
JFT Sunday 8/19 ~ a little late in day, but still my goals
1) Church
2) Walked dog 4.1 mi 1:10:33 & saw 4 cranes by veteran's memorial / stretched = happy dog & happy me
3) 2 loads laundry hanging & towels in dryer / washed all the dishes
4) Not sure about supper (I know it's late afternoon, but still no plans) / net calories green / > 10c water
5) Update weekly weigh-in post
6) Unplug 9:00 / floss / retainers / bed & TV off 10:15 (walk dog before work M)
Evening Snack Challenge ~ my goal to not snack past 9 p.m.
1. Peanut M&Ms (wanted something sweet) when got home at 9pm
2. 1 chocolate power muffin before 8:30
3. 1/4c chicken salad after 9:00 (emotional eating)
4. Peanut M&Ms 9pm
5. Nothing after supper
6. Nothing after Feast w/ the Beasts ended at 8pm
7. Late supper after spa/massage appt. & nothing after 8pm
8. Nothing after supper
9. Brookside pomegranate dark chocolate at 8:30 (down in dumps)
10. Animal crackers after 9pm
11. Late supper after balloon ascension/glow followed by ice cream w/ hubby when we got home 9:30
12. Supper over at 8pm & had few peanut M&Ms later (not sure of time)
13. 9 plain M&Ms after supper (counted three each red, white, blue) BEFORE 9
14. Unplanned frozen strawberry bar (80 cal) at 8pm, after supper & roses/garden work
15. 3 animal crackers after 9pm & busy w/ household chores
16. 10 peanut M&Ms after 9pm
17. Brookside pomegranate dark chocolate after all chores done / past 9pm
18. Napped in evening after family left, then had plain M&Ms after 9pm2 -
I think it may be time to set up an appointment with an OB. It'll have to wait until the beginning of September but I think it might be a good idea. Even if I end up not being pregnant maybe there is a reason for all of my random symptoms before Flo visits.
I can't really even keep a thought in my head at the moment. Ugh!4 -
@PackerFanInGB So very sorry about your brother-in-law. Hugs to you and prayers for comfort for entire family.
@maryrobinson40 Hugs to you also! I'm oldest of 5 sibs and can't imagine losing one. Cherish the time you have. Keeping you in my prayers.
@Bex953172 Petition signed... hope it passes! I think @Faebert's suggestion of talking to your MP is excellent ~ just tell your story in your own words.2
