How's everyone doing this week?
-
Yesss I'm also into baby steps! When I cut my calories or exercise really hard my supply dips, so I'm trying to just make sure I get at least 10k steps a day (I use the FitBit Charge 2 HR) and make healthy food choices 80% of the time :)

That's a lot of babies, mama!! Sounds like you're doing all the right things -- slow & steady. I want to do a half marathon this fall, too! Are you using a specific training plan?

Yay! So glad to have all of you as partners as we kick this baby weight. I tried to stay active during my pregnancy but after my kiddo was born I really started eating like crazy. I feel like I'm hungrier breastfeeding than I ever was while pregnant! I'm trying to do little changes instead of overhauling my life all at…

I have my settings as "Maintain weight" and "Sedentary," but allow myself to eat exercise calories back. This means that on a day when I'm sitting on my butt, I have to eat less in order to have a deficit, but on days when I exercise, I get to eat a little more and still have a deficit.

Yup mine hasn't synced since around 6am EST today. SO annoying because I did all my steps before work so that I knew how many calories I'd have left! What a waste of effort ;)

Hi friends, I'm also looking for maintenance friends! Feel free to add me!
-
I'm in maintenance (looking to tone up & maintain in the long term) and would love more MFPs! Please feel free to add me :)

You can all add me!

Kix, half a banana, and fat-free Smart Balance milk. Plus green tea and a tablespoon of coffee creamer.

Certainly didn't mean to create such a mess, but I resent those who say that "as a female" I shouldn't be saying such things. How about AS A FEMALE, I think we should more often propound our incredible strength (we bleed monthly? and live to tell about it? how cool is that!) rather than admit defeat every time our hormones…

I always measure my portions! Part of my problem in the first place was that I'd order spaghetti marinara from Olive Garden or whatever and be like, "Awesome, one serving of carbs!" Measuring makes me feel more in control of what goes in my body. I measure everything, from salad dressing to lettuce to cheese to cookies to…

Hair! Love the highlights, cut, and the way you shape it. SO gorge!

Haha. Yup, it's a top-secret way for women to talk about periods without actually talking about periods.
-
Bahahah, I get the generic CVS ones. Or shop at Costco/BJs/Sam's Club and stock up for, like, the year.

Okay sassypants, drinking a glass of water before eating helps you feel full faster so that you are less likely to OVEREAT. It takes our bodies about 20 minutes to recognize when it's no longer hungry, and how many people actually take 20 minutes to enjoy their meal? This trick helps you recognize being full before you can…

You (and anyone!!) can add me! I agree that it's much more fun and doable with friends...they keep me accountable!
-
Hahah sorry! I didn't mean anything by it -- I come from the suburbs where we drive everywhere, so this city-walking thing is new to me :)

My weight yo-yoed all the time during college, so I totally know what you're going through! I don't think you have to tell anybody you're trying to diet or lose weight. Just start making healthier choices and they'll get it -- no need for an announcement. If they act weird and/or say you don't need to lose weight, just…

I met my boyfriend four years ago in Italy where we were studying abroad.. we went to the same college, but didn't meet until we got to Italy! We've been dating since that summer.

Also, don't go to Dress Barn (what an unfortunate name for a women's clothing store...especially one with a plus-size section). I went there looking for a cute & cheap dress and everything was reeeeal big, even the 4s.

Old Navy does NOT carry small enough sizes. I wore an S or XS there even at my heaviest (138-140), and now all of their clothes have that "slouchy" look on me. They are also incredibly inconsistent in their sizing (probably because it's hard to regulate the cuts when you have Indonesian toddlers sewing your garments) so…

I do, and I encourage you to log fruits and veggies as well. The calories add up, and just because they're healthy in other ways doesn't mean they don't count as "calories."
-
If I'm just doing one, I can do 7:45 or 8min. When I do four or five miles, that goes up to 9min/mile, and my half marathons usually average 9:45min/mile.

That sounds delicious! I looove grits and I think if I make a bunch of this on the weekends I can eat it all week. Thank you!

This happens to me ALL THE TIME. Usually after a long run or race I need to lay in bed for the rest of the day. It helps to run in the morning before I've eaten anything (maybe a piece of toast and glass of water 15-30 minutes before running). I also avoid dairy and high-fiber foods before a long run (the day before a…

Agreed -- I have a cute black one that looks very Marilyn Monroe-y. It's more flattering than any bathing suit I've ever had! Old Navy has some nice ones in cute colors.
