  • ^^This. I don't live the lifestyle, but I have friends who do and this covers most things we cannot stand about the books. (Though I only read half of the first one; I just had to stop.) Bravo!
  • This is how it is for me as well. I think MFP doesn't have too many petite women on their staff. ;)
  • I make a Iced Caramel Latte with a small cup of coffee, 1/2 cup almond milk, and 2 tbsp sugar-free coffee syrup. I will the rest of my cup with ice. It comes to 47 calories and gives me my morning dose of caffeine.
  • I'm a morning person once I'm up...it is just the getting up part that ws hardest. My workoutsare about 30 minutes long and allow myslef sometime to cool down so I set m alarm 1 hour & 10 minutes early. By doing that I am still waking up early & I can still smack the SNOOZE button. I also set my Kuerig to start when I…
  • Agreed. They are great at answering questions there. I have been on BC for years and as a result of it (over years remember) my period has become lighter. But, like everyone said, it is different for everyone. I take a pill and that works for me with not ill effects. One of my friends gets a shot in the bum every month.…
  • I love my friends to pieces, but they do like to eat out a lot. So, what I do when I know I will eat out with them is look up the menu online and decide what I am eating before we get there. I also don't drink alcohol (maybe five times a year max), but try limiting yourself to one drink. The amount of calories in alcohol…
  • in order to lose inches you need to lower your body fat % and to do that you need a calorie defecit. Adding weight training will help you lose mucles and since muscle uses calories to work that means the more muscle you have the more calories you burn in general=calorie defecit. Unfortunately you can't target only one area…
  • I like chicken with some Mrs. Dash seasonings on them, brown rice, and a veggie (I am on a corn kick right now).
  • I know eating 1200+ calories sounds scary-it was for me too. I had a hard time no trying to stay under 1000 calories a day. BUT once I started eating more calories I'm not going to lie I did gain a few pounds (like 3), but I was told not to despair and to keep on with it-so I did. What it seemed like was my body was…
  • Ditto. I LOVE mine!
  • I have the Polar FT7. It was about $100 if I remember correctly. I love it since it has a chest strap. I debated a lot about what I wanted to get and saw that the chest strap helps you get accurate reading. I also like the FT7 because it is one of the cheaper ones that still had really good reviews. The calories burned…
  • I agree with this. It sounds like you did a wonderful things getting to where you are. I think all of us here know it is hard to lose the weight. With that said, everyone does it their own way. You never know how she is using those pills. Her use of diet pills in no way takes away from what you did, but to each their own.
  • Woohoo! Keep it up!
  • ...how do you know it isn't you getting more muscle? I had that problem during a previous weight loss excursion. I found the formula for figuring body fat %'s and I found that losing body fat, but gaining muscle can be the culprit sometimes.
  • Carbs are an essential nutrient which menas your body needs at least soem carbs. Also, when people think of going no carb they generally just leave out the bread and pasta, but carbs are in virtually everything.Fruit and veggies have carbs too! So I eat good carbs like the ones in fruits and veggies. I eat some bread too,…
  • Set small goals for yourself to meet as you improve. Besides, I doubt everyone was able to keep up cardio for 60+ minutes when they started. You have to build up to it.
  • Buy about 50 acres, build a house with the man I love, and lead a simple life.
  • If I end up eating over one day I try to work out harder the next to make up for the calories. I would say it depends on your body. There was a few weeks there where I ate over my calories, but lost weight. It seems like something everyone needs to figure out.
  • Slowly. I was always the bigger one of my siblings so it slowly happened through out childhood and didn't stop in adulthood either. After graduating from high school it went a little faster. I am now tryingt o correct a lifetime's worth of bad eating habit to be healthier.
  • When ...candy is too sweet to eat so you snack on veggies instead ...you do incline pushups everytime you are near a counter and don't stop until your arms shake ...5lb weights are right by the tv so you can workout while watching a tv show ...you love the burn after an awesome workout ...you know proper portion sizes…
  • I like a cup chocolate Silk in the morning and snacking on nuts through out the day. Surprisingly, a lot of fruit and veggies have kinda high calorie counts, but are still yummy!
  • Yes, you should eat back at least some of your exercise calories back. I try to eat about half of my exercise calories back. With you aiming to lose 2 pounds a week you really should eat back nearly all of your exercise calories. If you don't you will go crazy trying to stay under your count.
  • I think the Polar FT 4 doesn't have a chest strap. I have the FT 7 with a chest strap and love it. To me, it was worth the extra $20 for a chest strap.
  • You can do it!!! And I agree, hungry does feel good. I never thought it would ,but it does. Keep away from the munchies and get going. Woohoo!
  • Yes! Diet without exercise can make a difference in your body. When I started, I lost 9 pounds just from eating better. There were times when I would have one bad meal and think I messed up the whole day. This is not true! Do better the next meal. Don't sabotage your own efforts to lose weight. It will take a little while…
  • I know what you mean about the calories intake. My daily limit is 1430, but I find a way. Protein and fiber have become my new best friends though. I also don't eat a lot of bread or pasta. It was a conscious decision I made, it was just how I ended up eating. I find bread and pasta normally aren't that filling. With that…
  • If I were in your situation with the activity level I would leave it at Sedentary. I say that becaue I am assumming the chasing after the kids and cleaning activities are daily things. If they are, they are "every day" things. You were doing these things when you started to set out on your weight loss journey so why change…
  • For me, when running, breathing is my mental activity. I will get "athlete's asthma" from time to time if I allow my body to take quick, shallow breaths. I don't try to take incredibly long breaths, but consistent sized breaths. I found when doing this I can go for a bit longer before my body gets mad at mad. Also, like a…
