  • I usually hop on the treadmill for about 30 minutes (I'm really trying to get my cardio up) then end up lifting weights for about 20 minutes. I will either do upper body or lower body, then hop on the elliptical for about 10-15 minutes. I mainly do my ab workouts at home since the ab machines/stations at teh gym are always…
  • Kickboxing DVDs are also great for arms. Yes, there are some kicks, but a lot of it has to do with punches (jab, cross, hook, uppercut). You will feel it! One I liked was the 10 Minute Solutions Kickboxing. After the "warm up" 10 minutes my arms always feel nice and warm.
  • Greek yogurt with some honey. I was never a yogurt person before. I always heard it is a good "diet food" and figured I would try it. I cannot stand regular yogurt - its gotta be Greek. I love it!
  • Instead of a ponytail, I put my hair up with a chop stick. You can Google how to do it. You can also leave your hair in a chopstick at the gym too - just put a hair tie on top of the chopstick to hold it down and in place. I also use the Pantene Pro V Naturals shampoo and conditioner.
  • While I didn't do Turbo Jam, I have done TurboFire and I had the same things - I was gaining inches, but not poubnds. But, guess what - it is kind of a good thing. That means you are dropping the fat and adding muscle instead. When you first start doing a program like that your body will lose its "detox pounds" before you…
  • There aren't really any food out there that cause belly fat. It is just where your body decides to keep the fat. Every body is different, but there are only so many places a body can store fat. My body like to put it on my thighs and belly. I could to ab workouts until I keel over, but that won't change much. So, just eat…
  • If I am just a little hungry and kinda munchy I will go to bed if i am winding down for the night, but if I am STARVING I snack on something healthy.
  • THAT IS WONDERFUL! You are a true inspiration to me! Seeing how much you have done for yourself motivates me to want to do the same for myself. Thank you for sharing your success!
  • I completely understand! I do the same things from time to time. What I do to make up for it is I log EVERYTHING! I will think "Oh, it is just a little snack" and eat it, then dread logging it in my diary. I know that "little snack" will probably set me over my limit, but I know I must hold myself accountable. After seeing…
  • That is wonderful! Losing ym water wieght and my body detox pounds made me so happy!...then the scale didn't budge. >.< It The initial loss is one of the best motivators I've had while losing weight, just don't get discouraged after that start-up loss. You deserve to be the most beautiful woman you can be so don't let a…
  • Sometimes I think the scale is God's way of punishing us since we obsess over it to much. I used to do the same thing and I just wanted to cry. Boy, did I ever vent about it too!! :) Then I thought about it - should my happiness be linked to the number that little contraption shows or should it be linked about how much…
  • It depends on what you mean by tea I would think. It you are drinking super sweetened tea or bottled/canned tea, then I would say it doesn't count as water. In this case you should try to limit your tea intake like you would soda. However, if you are brewing tea at home and having it pretty naked, then I would count it as…
  • That is wonderful! Do yout best to kep going and to keep it off. Lifestyle changes really will change your life for the best!
  • I love having some greek yogurt with honey and berries. It is a nice sweet treat that keeps me full for a long time. I will also make egg while omeletes with diced onion, diced tomato, and spinach. When in a pinch and running out the door I will have some dry cereal. The Post Great Grains is a decent type cereal. At 200…
  • If possible it always helps to calibrate it (the workout machine) to your weight. Also, take the number of calories the machine says you burned and subtract 20% of that number. 20% seems to be the standard "error" I've noticed on machines. Hope that helps!
  • I know it is tempting to not eat back the calories you burn off by working out, but you need to! MFP already takes out enough calories for you to be in a deficit. For example, if your goal is to lose 1lb a week, MFP is taking your Base Metabolic Rate and subtracting 500 calories from it. (500 since there are 3,500 cals in…
  • Totally Chobani and Fage with some orange blossom honey and berries (blackberries are my favorite!) is how I love my yogurt.
  • Ground turkey is all I eat now - now more ground beef for me. The taste does take a tad getting used to since they two tastes are a slightly different . Lean ground turkey is the best!
  • Zumba, for sure!
  • I understand how you feel! I often find myself snacking on foods I probably shouldn't after rationalizing why it was okay to eat. To make up for my spectacular rationalizing I work out a little longer and harder. Generally if I am eating something I probably shouldn't I think about if I really am hungry, or if I just want…
