  • Hi, My name is Valerie, and If you would like, you can add me as a friend. I've found such a wonderful support group here on MFP. So much advice and positive encouragement...and don't forget, we keep each other accountable too. I, for sure, need that. Good Luck and God Bless :-)

  • Thanks for this!!! THis will help me. :-) I also try to eat every 3 hours. Something healthy like nuts, or raw veggies and fruit. It try not to totally abstain from snack foods, as this makes me want to eat it more. I just eat them in smaller portions. Like 5 M & M's instead of the whole bag. ANd above all else. I pray…

  • My profile pic is of me and my son. My ticker explains my profile name. Crazy 4 Jesus :-)
  • I'm definitely a chocolate lover! I love Nabisco's, Mr. Salty 100 cal chocolate pretzels. I get the sweet with the salty. Yummy! Although I will need to try the cocoa powder and peanut butter. That really sounds good!!! I love Peanut M&M's too. Most of the time, I'm able to grab a few and put the bag away. Far away!!!!
  • oops. I was trying to reply to CruiseKing, but I guess I haven't figured out how to do that. My last entry was in response to CruiseKing asking me about Anxiety and Mitral Valve Prolapse :-)
  • I have. When I got a diagnosis of Panic Attacks, I googled everything I could find on it. Everything from Aspartame consumption to Hormones to Mitral Valve Prolapse could cause them. I started jotting down the times and dates I would get them, and come to find out. It may be a Hormonal thing. Lucky me....NOT :-( After…
  • The day after I had knee surgery, I had what the doctor's call a panic attack. It scared the bejeebers out of me. My heart started beating really weird. Really slow, then really fast. My palms would sweat and I just felt like something was totally not right. I guess at the time, I was wondering if I had got a blood clot in…
  • Oh, I wish, I wish, I wish I were a size 6 or 7. I'm currently fitting snuggly into a size 12. I need to lose about 30, or so pounds.
  • Non-drinker here too!! I loved reading this topic!! Congrats to all the non-drinking students too. Well, actually to everyone who has chosen not to drink!! That first sip is not worth taking, it can become a bad addiction. I used to be an alcoholic, and by the Grace of God, I haven't taken a sip in awhile. Fully delivered…
  • You will love MFP. The support and tools are awesome!! I love how I can actually see the amount of calories I'm consuming. Like for instance....ice cream. I never really paid attention the calories until I had to actually log it in. Wow, let's just say that I now try to only eat 1/2 cup. I used to eat about 2 whole cups at…
  • Hey, Your question was an awesome one. Funny thing, I was asking this myself the same question today. You got some great responses, all but one. I know this is a public forum, but if people don't have any positive advice or anything positive to add in answering any question that is posted, then just stay away. Check your…
  • I think this is smart, and when coupled with prayer, amazing things happen . I often fast, but for spiritual reasons, and the outcome of the fast is beyond amazing. It brings me closer to the Lord, and it is very healthy for me. There is no problem at all in denying ourselves. Jesus calls us to do this. What your sister is…
  • Crazy4Him means that I'm crazy for Jesus. The 4552 part, if you look at you phone key pad, the 4 button is for the letter I, as in "I". the 5's on the phone pad are for the letters, "L" as in love, and "J" as in Jesus, and the 2 is for the letter, "C" as in Christ. I love Jesus Christ. He is my savior. Wouldn't be here if…
  • Ooo, that's a good question. I've asked it before myself. And I love the responses so far. Healthy food, water and exercise. Just a warning for those of you who have heart problems, PLEASE don't try appetite suppressants. Especially if you have valve problems. I have a Mitral Valve Prolapse, and have tried appetite…
  • You've come to a great place. Lots of encouragement here, and so many people that are going through exactly what you are going through. Stay strong, be committed and consistent with excercise and portion size. Make sure you log your choices even when you know you've blown it, then start over fresh the next day. This site…
  • Yes, many people have questioned my motives for eating healthy and loving life.....sounds silly doesn't it? I've come to the conclusion that many people are "obsessed" with some things... if we want to call it that. The people that are questioning you, I bet, are obsessed with something as well. Could be the computer,…
  • Yes, this is a wonderful site. I've been on it for almost a year. My suggestion is that you consistently log on each day, even when you know you've gone over your limits. As I do this, it helps me to be accountable. It also helps me stay focused on my goal and understand that it is attainable There are so many wonderful…
  • Oh my goodness!!!!! This sounds YUMMY with a capital Y. God help us during the holidays!!! I'm going to make some this weekend!! Thanks for the recipe. I love to cook!!!!
  • Thank you so much for giving us this information. Cancer is a dreaded thing. My father died in 1995 from Malignant Melanoma, and it shook my world. Cancer knows no boundries. It is horrible, and affects us all in some form or fashion. Whether it be a family member who has it, a friend, or our personal self. I agree, we all…
  • I'm so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. My prayers are going out to you and your/her family and friends. I know that when people see this post, they will pray too. I have found that there are many people that are SO, SO supportive here at MFP. You will make it! It is hard, sometimes very hard. I lost my father to…
  • I understand your frustration!! And it's not fun at all. Don't give up!! Make sure you are eating the real, healthy food. I noticed another member mentioning how much sodium the pre-packaged meals have, and yes...it's ridiculous. Incorporate veggies and lean meats into your meals. Whole grains are good too. Make sure you…
  • Lots of great advice given to you today :-) I've forgotten if you said anything about you having any health problems. First of all, I'm with the majority when it comes to not taking diet pills. It is SO much healthier for you to lose weight by watching your calorie intake, if you want to count carbs, great-do so. Make sure…
  • Watching your calories, exercise and eating in moderation, are keys to losing weight. Also, make sure you are eating something every 2-3 hours. This helps your metabolism work properly. When you skip a meal, you mess your metabolism up, thus- sending your body into "starvation mode" this lowers your metabolic rate, and…
  • Hey....thanks everyone!! I've found a wealth of information from each one of you!! YOU ARE the BEST!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Ok...now I feel like a doofus......I messed it up.......C....Cranberry :)
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • At MFP, you are among many people that will encourage you!! Small goals are GREAT! I love the tools here, they help motivate me to be consistent. I really like it at the end of the day when I've entered all my food and exercise entries, and it tells me what I would weigh in so many weeks if I keep up with what I'm doing.…
