My sacrifice is sleep. I get up at 5:30am 5 days a week to go to the gym. Of course I would love to stay in bed and get more sleep but at the end of the day I want the results more than I want the sleep :)
-
Melbourne here - please feel free to add me, I'm on here everyday and happy to motivate and be motivated :)

I think it means you're becoming more aware of your body through exercise and are engaging your core throughout the day. This will improve your posture and is great for your abdominal muscles. Keep up the good work!

Stretch marks are my battle scars!

@ismiseciara 24?

^^this^^ Also, a lot of injury on treadmills occurs because of the speed setting not being high enough and therefore the user landing too heavily. Try increasing the speed and see if the pain in your knees subsides.

Monday & Friday: Body Pump Tuesday & Saturday: Body Step Wednesday & Sunday: 5-7km run Thursday: Body Combat Love it all so much couldn't give a day up if I tried!

Hara hachi bu - eat until you're 80% full - it takes your stomach a while to send the message to your brain that you're full, so if you keep eating until you feel full, you've over eaten.

Another Melbournite here. Please feel free to add me :)

Love my FT40 - wear it everyday to they gym and it never lets me down :)
-
Good for you Annie! My advice would be to find a training buddy, preferably someone who is fitter than you and will keep you motivated and on track whilst gently pushing you out of your comfort zone. Good luck!

I get a lot of stuff from the Lululemon outlet in Melbourne. Also Rebel Sport now and then.

^^this^^ Although on the one day a week I don't exercise, I find it hard sticking to just 1200.

My new fave is multigrain toast with low fat ricotta, walnuts and honey along with a cup of green tea. Quick, easy, healthy and yummy :)

Go ahead and add me Zeleni, happy to motivate you along the way :)

MFP daily user, workout 6 days a week, very positive, feel free to add me, I love to motivate and be motivated by similar minded people :)

I have to agree that an HRM is the only real way to know how much you've burned. Both the machines at my gym and MFP give a higher reading than my HRM.

1) Yes 2) Yes - see comments below 3) Yes 4) Yes Sad but true - lunges do hurt, but like all things, hurt less over time. I have found that lunges and squats have really helped with my running, especially where hills are involved. Stick with it, it's worth it :)

Brilliant :)

It must be a decent walk if you're measuring 220 calories with your HRM. I'd definitely count them.

G'day from Melbourne :drinker:

Just bought an FT40 online and it arrived today - very happy to hear so many positive reviews!

If you're 172cm and 60kg, you're in great shape and a perfect BMI. I would dare say you don't need to lose any more weight. If you lose another 5kg, your BMI will be borderline underweight. I think your body is hanging onto those 5kg's because it needs them :)

I'm across the Tasman in Melbourne but happy to support and cheer you on if you would like to add me :smile:

Similar treadmill experience - at a gym in a hotel, thought I'd start running straight away so set it at 10 like I do at home. Which is all good and well when it's set to km's, which it was not. Turns out that 10mph is alot faster than 10kmph, I had a bruise on my bum for a long time to remind me. Worse part was the staff…

Best workout if you're unsure about using weights at the gym is (in my humble opinion) Body Pump classes. Not sure if they have Les Mills classes at your gym, but if they do, give it a shot! Body Pump is great because the instructor will ensure you have the right technique, and you will probably work harder and do more…

^^Me too^^ Scary thought that something so simple could be so evil. Perhaps my naivety is why I got so big!:blushing:
-
@plumnbagel - a better looking Paul Rudd :)

Just saw your pics - you have done an amazing job, and yes, you are finished! Now it's all about maintenance, but you definietly don't need to lose any more weight. Congratulations on your inspiring result :smile:
