  • I made this list a couple months ago for someone looking for more core so here ya go. I do all of these exercises (and then some) in my "core and more" class I've been going to religiously for over 2 years now at my ymca. side plank with a weight: do a side plank (you can modify, I do, it's hard!), hold a weight in the air…
  • I feel you girl. I feel like a clown sometimes with how big my boobs are (I've compared them to having clown feet) and I don't even think mine are as big as yours. Yes, of course we all need to work on loving ourselves but when so many people won't focus on the rest of you it gets really hard. I'm sure there are some women…
  • I swear by the Yes To line of products. I mostly use Yes To Cucumbers, but also have Yes To Tomatoes and Yes To Grapefruit products as well. I still struggle with acne and this stuff has done wonders for me. The cucumbers line is for sensitive skin and the tomatoes for acne prone. I started with the tomatoes but have…
  • I invested in two sports bras from Victoria's Secret and they have changed my life. My boobs don't really move at all when I'm working out or jumping or running or anything. I am in love with them! (38DD talking here)
  • I go to an abs class for a half hour twice a week (because I am not this creative myself!). Here are some of the things we do (that haven't already been mentioned): side plank with a weight: do a side plank, hold a weight in the air above you and bring it down under your body and back up. it gets pretty challenging after…
  • hmmm not being able to have leafy greens sounds terrible! here are my staples (we are a veg household FYI) lettuce tomatoes peppers of all colors mushrooms brussel sprouts avocado asparagus cultured coconut yogurt hummus multigrain crackers tofu tempeh other "fake meats" plums, nectarines, berries, mango raw unsalted…
  • Thank you to the person who said it's the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and not Obamacare! :-) To offer incentives to people who are "healthier" or who have "lost weight" we would have to make weight a pre-existing condition again, and the ACA wrote out all pre-existing conditions except for smoking. So sure, it's a great…
  • THIS! I stopped buying "junk" food and found better alternatives. My chips are made out of veggies and flax seed, my crackers are multigrain, I keep zero cheese in the house, no cookies, and only keep a secret stash of 100 calorie chocolate bars for when I need it. My boyfriend eats most of the carb foods before I can even…
  • I agree, I recommend reevaluating your calorie goal. I calculated my TDEE and bumped up my calories when I was in a rut and started losing again by doing so. I had a night class last term and I always made sure I packed snacks! I usually eat every 3-4 hours because I just get hungry quickly. So I would pack fruit and nuts…
  • Agreed. And once you reach your goal weight, you need to eat at or under your TDEE to maintain. This also means you have to continue logging your food to stay on track. And I full-heartedly agree that you shouldn't' be looking at this as a "diet". This is a lifestyle change so you have to be willing to adopt the same…
  • I use pea protein and add it to my meal replacement shakes in the morning to bulk up the protein count. I have read all kinds of varying things on how much protein you should get in a day which I find confusing, but based on what MFP tells me, I rarely ever hit it. I'm actually thinking about adding "snack" shakes to add…
  • I'd also vote no. Maybe do it part time, on the side, if you really feel that passionate about it, but I would not rely on it to compensate for a full time salary. Years ago I sold Scentsy and seriously you'll just annoy yourself with how much you talk about the products and try to convince people to buy them. I used…
  • refusing to travel over an hour away from home without packing vegan snacks, fresh fruit, and fake meat because WHO KNOWS what lies beyond my realm of living near a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's!!!!!!!!!! ^ just did this traveling to Kansas over the weekend. ice packs, cooler bag and all. LOL
  • Anyone can add me too! I have to get back to work at the moment but will send some requests out later. :-)
  • Try cashew cheeses! They are delicious and spot on. I refuse to eat the fake vegan cheeses because I think they are gross but cashew and other nut cheeses taste just the same! I haven't had kids yet but I'm planning on staying vegan when I do. I think it will be totally awesome to raise a child who's never eaten animal…
  • "You look more fit!" This was from a co-worker of mine who is also an exercise instructor. It was really flattering to hear that I look more fit, and not just smaller, that means my strength training must be working! :-)
  • I tired Vega One and didn't like it, well that's an understatement, I almost threw it up. I've used the vegan Shakeology (also very expensive) but am now using AmazingGrass. I love it, I got the pomegranate mango flavor. I make it with coconut water and frozen mango and I think it's super delicious and refreshing.
  • aww that's terrible! see if there are any vegan/veg MeetUps near you. or you can go on the "Vegan Friend Me" page on Facebook and add vegans from around the world! (it's kinda awesome!)
  • when you've trained your friends and family so well that they ask "can you eat there?" before committing to dinner plans. (always makes me feel like a BAMF! haha) when you stand in the isle at the grocery store meticulously reading ingredient labels. when you do ^ and find something "accidentally vegan" and cheer! (and…
  • Green Tea Extract Green Coffee Bean Extract (I do believe this actually decreased my appetite) Bliss Go Pack (did literally nothing but waste my money) I've also tried the Special K diet, but all that is a bunch of processed junk! live and learn!
  • What she said!!!!! I love zumba, and used to go more frequently but then realized I needed to be adding more variety. I'm not sure where you go to class, but perhaps they have other classes you could go to as well/instead of zumba all the time. I started a weight training class and am also doing work out dvds at home. Not…
  • I've been logging pretty consistently for a couple months now. I started by participating in a month long challenge through a friend of mine who is a beach body coach. I had a couple weeks off and am now in week two of a 9 week challenge! I am hoping to push through and be at my goal weight at the end of this. Feel free to…
  • I'm 26, CW 150, GW is 125/130. Anyone, feel free to add me! (I'm short too! haha)
  • I'm new to it too, but feel free to add me (anyone)! I am currently doing the Les Mills Combat program and go to a weight training class at my YMCA once a week. I also got a barbel for xmas so I'm really excited to really push it! Some things I've picked up in class have already been said, make sure you rotate the muscle…
  • Because all of those ingredients are in the general public's vocabulary? No way, it's chock full of preservatives and sodium. I don't think that's healthy for you at all. And of course I'm assuming that since we are on MFP people are watching their portions and logging it. No one makes progress eating whatever they want…
  • I see a lot of supporters on here but I have to say get away from this habit while you can. Prepared meals, especially frozen dinners are terrible for you, the nutritional value leaves a lot to be desired! I wouldn't make this a habit, maybe when you are super busy you could grab one, but I wouldn't eat it every day.…
  • I'm 25, about to be 26 next week, and have lost 15 pounds (3 of which were in the last month after a 1.5 year hiatus) and have about 15-20 to go. I will stop when I feel and look good! Feel free to add me. I would love to add some people closer to my age. (I'm also mostly vegan so if we have that connection too, even…
  • I don't really have an answer but I COMPLETELY AGREE with the breakfast statement! Make sure you start your day by eating something! Also, you might want to try grazing. That's basically what I do. I have my breakfast, a morning snack, my lunch, and an afternoon snack. I take all of them to work with me so I can eat…
  • I've dabbled in raw before, and loved it. I'm about 85% vegan right now, I'm transitioning from being vegetarian. There are some really great videos on youtube on raw foods and grocery shopping, but you should see what these people have to eat in a week! holy crap it's a lot! just be prepared to buy and consume a LOT of…
