I'm sorry to hear what you have been through. I have never been through anything like this, but my heart hurts for you. It sounds like she had some inner issues that needed to be resolved. Instead of smoking or drinking why don't you go for a quick walk or run? I run to relieve stress, when I need to think, or just to…

I made these once before and they are amazing! They are so rich and decadent. I forgot about them until yesterday when I was looking through my Pinterest boards! Worth a try! ????????

I agree with the comment about the same thing you eat before a long run! I did my first half a month ago, & "carbed" up. I was miserable the first couple miles. I recommend doing what makes u comfortable on long runs. I am weird and normally don't eat before I run because I feel sick. That's always worked for me on my long…

I did my first half about a month ago and I loved it! I have a hurt Achilles' tendon, but I'm gonna do anther Half later this year! I'm always looking for more running friends on here. Anyone feel free to add me. I agree, I think after one half you become addicted. I can't wait to do another. ????

I ran my first half marathon about a month ago, & didn't pass out, or have a heart attack. For real, I was scared I was walking into my funeral. Lol, but seriously, I completed my first half, & it's an amazing feeling. However the scale is actually higher than before I ran that. (Grumbles) But I'm lower than my high school…

This thread has me itching to really start training for one! I've been thinking about doing one lately, & my local running store has been emailing info about an upcoming tri. I completed my first half marathon almost a month ago. It's been since then I want to do a tri. Goodluck with your training. Swimming is def my…

Listen to your body, that's the most important thing. I normally just go straight for it and run. However I just completed my first half marathon and had to walk some. My legs were cramping and I had some blisters. Enjoy your runs, if u need to stop and walk, do it. Happy running!

My biggest peeve is when a dog decides they want to chase you, because the owner doesn't find it necessary to keep them leashed! Also when I have to run around a group of people. It's just something about that that gets me.

Oh I def agree they are different. I'm 5'3". My skeletal is not the same as someone a foot taller than me, obviously. I'm just saying that a person stating "I'm big boned" as a part of reason/not losing weight is kind of silly.

I am SO glad u posted this CT image. I was wanting to show my boyfriend this a while back and couldn't find it for the life of me. I'm an X-ray tech and I've x-rayed patients of all weights. A femur of a 120lb person is generally the same size of a person who is obese. It's just the extent of soft tissue surrounding it. I…

I just completed my first half about 2 weeks ago. I'm currently dealing with a hurt Achilles' tendon.. Let your body rest. That's the best advice I can give. I'm kinda new to this long distance training, but I do know a runner needs to let their injuries heal before continuing training. When I was running I didn't even…

My main goal is to continue to "feel good" about myself, & not eat food that makes me feel horrible. Since I've been on MFP, when I eat bad food I feel it. My body doesn't like it. My other goal is to run another half marathon and beat my time from my recent half I just ran! :). Here's to a healthy 2013!!! ????

I'm adding u! Goodluck, u can do this!

Hi Jason, your story is amazing! Keep up the great work! I love running, & I'm training for a half marathon too. I bike about 40 miles a month. Nothing too serious, but I enjoy it also. Feel free to add me of you want!

It depends on the day of the week and whether or not I like Dr. Oz's "tips" But he suggests rolling deodorant on the area that chaffs, & it reduces friction. Its worth a try, & this is something in a average household. My shorts rolled up on yesterday's run, & rubbed a spot on one leg.... Wish I would of thought about thay…

I've lost a car tire here! Great Way to put weight loss into perspective!
