  • Look for a vegan protein shake, it won't have dairy in it. Shakeology has a vegan strawberry shake or chocolate shake. I drink the chocolate. Message me if you want more info.
  • Best thing I ever did was start using salsa instead of salad dressing. It's even better if you make a batch yourself with real tomatoes instead of canned. You can control your sodium and the "heat" by making it yourself!
  • Sex: F Age: 28 Weight: 126.5 Height: 5'5" How many calories you NET per day: 1100-1200 (1400-1600 before exercise) How many times per week you exercise w/ minutes: 6x 45-60 min
  • Agree! Rest at least one day. I made it a goal to go 5 days a week when I started out in order to make is a habit, eventually I wanted to go 6 all on my own. But I found that not having two rest days decreased my weight loss progress. Rest is just as important as the work you are doing in the gym.
  • See a doctor, but in the meantime look at the amount of carbs that you are taking in. Diets with low carbs can lead to lack of energy. This has crept up on me that past couple of weeks. I was only getting about 30% carbs. I do much better in the 40-50% carb range.
  • Eat clean and drink plenty of water. Start working out five days a week for an hour a day. I lost 10 pounds my first month doing this. Good luck! The average person will only lose about a pound per week eating 1200 calories a day so don't get discouraged if it doesn't come off quick like you want. It will come.
  • I typically by 1050 in a 55 minute class including 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down and stretch. Spinning reigns supreme to me.
  • If you like Beachbody products, I'm currently doing the Les Mills Pump videos. There isn't any jumping around, but there are weights involved. Not heavy weights but she might hear a pin drop every now and then when you gently set them down. I just completed week 1 and I love it! She sounds like she's either never lived in…
  • I feel your struggle with sugar. I'm five pounds from GW and I know that it's the reason I'm not there yet. Grrr! Your legs look fantastic by the way! LOVE those white shorts
  • A few favorites from my spin/treadmill playlist: Good Feeling - Flo Rida We Found Love (Feat. Calvin Harris) - Rhianna Sexy Chick (feat Akon) - David Guetta Sexy and I Know It - LMFAO The Edge of Glory - Lady GaGa Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5
  • Love yourself, he already does :-) Everyone looks at other people every now and then but at the end of the day you are the one he wants and as long as you stay YOU (no matter your weight, shape, or size). If it's real love, it's so much deeper than that.
  • I say do progress pictures. I only say this because you'll have your heaviest and you'll have evidence of change to continue to propel you forward. I only lost two pounds in my second month, but 5.5 inches. I wouldn't have had the will to go on if I wasn't able to see those inches. The shape of my body had changed and I…
  • I pay $75/ month. This includes unlimited classes, towel service, year-round pool usage (indoor and outdoor), not 24 hours but open at reasonable times, childcare and indoor child playarea that's twice the size of your typical fast food playplace.
  • I mix Zumba into my regular gym workouts twice a week. I like it because it's way different than the rest of the work. The key is to keep moving and work hard enough to sweat. If you are sweating, you will be losing. I try to build in a well rounded weekly workout full of weights, cardio, and plyometrics.
  • I took one at 30 days and then one at 60 days. Between that time I only lost 4 pounds, but HOLY MOLY! Those 4 pounds mattered. It's never too late to start.
  • I agree that it's probably lymph nodes. If you have allergies, this time of year is really tough or it could be an infection. If you are really worried, go to a walk-in clinic (get a referral from someone you know; not all walk-in clinics are created equal).
  • It's all about the choices we make. Congrats on your victory! It's important to find small victories and try not to focus on the weight alone :)
  • Take pictures instead. I did this last month. I was bummed because I only lost 3 pounds in this past month. But when I compared the pictures, there's no comparison. I made real progress despite what my scale says. If you're already thin and looking for tone, this is the route I would go. I also lost 5.5 inches which…
  • McAlister's menu has 5 under 500 options now. I also like Panera, but I do half salad and half soup. WATCH out for CHEESE (as it add alot of calories to both salads and soups) and the baguette they give you. The bagguette is 150 calories alone! Opt for an apple instead and save it for an afternoon snack.
  • One thing I did was buy a jump rope to keep behind or under the couch. On days when I couldn't make it outside or to the gym, I would jump rope during commercials of my favorite shows. It doesn't sound like much, but jumping rope for 3 - 5 minute increments is super hard and a great cardio workout. If jumping is to loud…
  • A BIG problem with chicken these days is the breast portions you purchase raw in the store are twice as big as a 4oz serving. Enjoy your chicken the way that you like it, but cut your portion in half. This should make a huge difference. It has for me.
  • I totally agree with this. Make changes in your life that you can live with for FOREVER! Give yourself a break when you slip, but get right back up on the horse even stronger. Find exercises that you truly love doing. If possible, find a group of people who LOVE the same exercises as you do. This makes it so much more…
  • It can't hurt to weigh less, but heels for me have been pretty uncomfortable at any weight, except for the expensive ones. Quality over quantity when it comes to shoes :)
  • I'll take a look for you. I recently went through this. Sometimes it's just a plateau that you have to power through.
  • You can do it! Runs have the most amazing sideline support that will keep you going. Make a rockin' playlist and just GO!
  • My only advice is to watch what you eat and exercise when you can. If you live in a nice area and are into running (or jogging), buy a good jogging stroller. Gyms with childcare are AMAZING! Not only does it give you time to work on yourself, it also gives you a moment to yourself to think about everything else going on or…
  • How much you lose will really depend on the changes you make. Simply counting calories and controlling portions will help out alot, but if you really want to get it right you have to pay attention to protein vs carb intake. Also limiting processed sugars and salt will help ALOT! In college, I dropped 10 pounds in a month…
  • Heart rate monitor is your best option. You can get one for about $50 that will simply tell you your current calorie burn. The more expensive ones track you calories over time and do alot of other crazy stuff, but if you're just wanting to know what you're burning, a basic model will do fine.
  • Don't lose hope! You can work on your diet and making better choices about foods during this time. Make sure you get at least 1200 calories a day or your body will feel that you are starving it. This will result in food storage instead of proper usage. Also, if swimming isn't an option, you could do the seated weights for…
