  • Hi, I'm 54 years old and I'm back after a year hiatus, due to health issues. I was very active here in 2012, whenI lost 59 lbs. However, in 2013, I gained 47 lbs. back in the midst of dealing with the discovery of 5 additional herniated disks (as I already had 2). Now determined health problems will not stop me, it is time…

  • Just broke the 200 barrier myself! Congrats!!
  • I've had my Fitbit for ~ 4 months and I love it! It has been a great tool (working in concert with MFP) for me in my weight loss journey, I highly recommend it! Goooooooooo Tigerssssssssssssss!

  • You are right in one sense; handsome is what my Aunts, Mom and Mother-In-Law has told me (even when I was heavy)! But you know dude; hell if they really mean it, a compliment is a compliment and at 52 years old with the gray hair to show for it; I'm vain enought to take an honest compliment any way I can get it!!
  • The Fitbit syncs with MFP via "wireless" connection. Fitbit does not reflect monitoring speed per se; however, it does monitor distance experienced for a given exercise activity in the context of time and it calculates calories burned based on your age, weight, and time spent on various activity levels. I'm not sure how…
  • Geez; I believe I go to that gym! LOL
  • QUOTE: What am I going to do after I have lost the weight? Everything in my power to keep in off I am going to work to reduce my body fat to recommended levels by building muscle mass!
  • I'm with ya here! I, too, was consuming 3,000 - 5,000 calories per day (and was not exercising) prior to joining MFP. Many people cannot believe I've lost the amount of weight I have, by simply exercise and eating smarter, due to being cognizant of calorie intake versus calories burned!
  • I'm at the gym most mornings at 5:00 a.m. and the majority of the time I do not eat anything. On a few occassions when I did eat, it is usually a banana and/or a few almonds. For what its worth; I usually eat a high protein breakfast usually within a hour after my workouts!
  • I love my fitbit! I lost my first fitbit after using it only 3 weeks and I quickly bought a new one (and have used it about 5 weeks! Whereas I have a few questions regarding its accuracy; I look at the data it produces as being "relative", given it has served its purpose as a tool in my weight loss journey. Since I've been…
