  • Yeah EA Sports Active is a great starter for getting into a full on excercise routine. I had it for the Kinect and it came with everything you need to get started.
  • any kind of movement like that will burn calories, but you'll need a more rounded workout if you really want to get in shape. You could always look into resistance bands as well(can get a set for under $20) that way you can workout out in the comfort of your own room.

  • Yeah I plan on actually doing P90X2 after this then maybe insanity. My only problem is with insanity from what I read its 100% cardio based no strength training(not really my thing). As far as switching out things I'm already doing that, I cannot stand the Kenpo workout so I've swapped it for Plyo in the Lean schedule…
  • I'm thinking after Classic for cycle 2 I may do Doubles for cycle 3. I'm definitely seeing results still though.
  • Software/Web Developer, so I pretty much stare at and write code all day in ColdFusion, C#, jQuery and Javascript. Pretty nerdy I'd say.
  • The point of the show is not realism, its a complete fantasy/sci-fi world. None of the real world rules apply........
  • Why is the readout of calories "totally inaccurate"? Am I missing something here? I use my HRM calories as what I burned, I take my HR about every 3-4 minutes throughout the DVD(except for Yoga because its just not doable).
  • yeah its definitely not for everyone, it's more about planning and strategy and playing it on something like PS3 takes out the best part of the game IMO. Which is deck building, since they do it for you with prefab ones.

  • up until October(when I started my new job) I would play MTG at lunch every day with a co worker. Only problem was the cards started getting WAY overpriced, I mean come on$40 for ONE planeswalker!!!!! Havent really played much since I left that job, except a couple of times on MTGO...

  • Welcome to the site and gl. First off 1100 caloies is WAY too low. When you put your profile in here it should give you a more approriatte calorie level to shoot for. Also make sure you log your excercise and eat back your calories. As far as lifting goes, look into circuit training to mix in with your cardio. Something…
  • that's not true at all. You can in fact lose fat and build muscle, however its hard to LOSE WEIGHT and build muscle at the same time. As far as cardio goes more than 30 minutes at a time I've been told starts to burn muscle. Also a good routine would be something like: Monday: Upper body, back Tuesday: cardio 30-60min…
  • The only real way to know is get a HRM, I got one from Target by New Balance for under $100. Take my pulse every 5 minutes or so and it tells you calories burned.
  • Thanks I'll try them both out and see what I like the best.
  • Just started, this week I'm familiarizing myself with a couple of the videos before I start my real week 1 next week, so far Ive done Cardio X, Core Synergistics tonight is Shoulders/Arms and tomorrow is Yoga. Taking Saturday off before I start my hybrid classic/lean schedule Day 1 - Chest/Back, Abs Day 2 - Cardio X Day 3…
  • Thanks, my "dillema" is that I really like the Core/Cardio portions of the Lean schedule, but I want the strength training of the Classic(Chest is not in Lean). I was thinking of doing the Classic with a modification meaning this would be the schedule. Day 1 - Chest/Back, Abs Day 2 - Cardio X Day 3 - Shoulders/Arms Day 4 -…
  • Not sure if I want to play it or not, but I pre ordered my CE just in case :)
  • Yeah not sure what happened to mine, just realized today that I hadnt seen any updates from people in a while, very strange
  • Thats how i always feel too..........its like WooHoo!!!! I want to play WoW, then one hour after account reactivations its like "d@mn I did it again, well now I'm playing for at least the rest of the month I paid for"
  • Im flipping between Diablo 2 and Dark Souls atm.....I have a feeling today that will change to Diablo 3
  • HIIT is the way to go to kill boredom on the treadmill. There's also the option of doing other cardio that doesnt bore you, to many people get it in thier heads that cardio = treadmill or elliptical. Take an aerobics class, or maybe get a couple videos for cardio at home. When I'm not in the mood to run I'll just pop in…
  • I'm always here....great time killer at work, lol
  • I would include that in your BMR where it asks for your activity level.
  • Step 1. Eat More Step 2. Eat Healthier. Step 3. Lose Weight Although honestly at your current size weighing often isnt going to be helpful, you dont have much to lose so youre better off bi weekly.
  • agreed, my wife loves it, but every time I try it dry heave. It is easily the most vile food know to man....IMO that is.
  • Yeah I've seen them at every big box store, also amazon seems to have good prices for them.
  • It would be just as accurate for strength training as any other activity. It tracks your heart rate therefore it can calculate the calories you burned.
  • Only real way is with a heart rate monitor unfortunately, the MFP numbers seem awfully high for most things. So if you dont have a HRM maybe do what I do and add it as cardio option of weight lifing and minues 15-20% just to be safe. I do plan on getting a HRM very soon though.
  • Ive had an ASUS Republic Of Gamer's series laptop for the last 2 years and it has not yet let me down, definitely good bang for the buck there!
  • Not losing in the first week is a little odd, you should at least drop a lot of water weight. Like someone else said, sodium might be your problem causing you to retain the water. Also another problem is the kind of foods youre eating, Zaxbys, Krispy Cream, WalMart Muffins those are all "empty calories" try eating…
