-
I also lift, I'm 29, 5'8" and about 140 pounds.... I try to get around 140-180 grams of protein a day.... if I went with the measly 35 grams it automatically set up for me I'd just be hurting myself!
-

-
Carry around a protein bar or something like that, try to eat every 3 hours to boost your metabolism.... weight train for the same reasons! I love ON xtreme milk choc. 100% whey for a protein drink
-
I'm very picky especially with taste. I use Optinum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein in extreme milk chocolate. I love that stuff! Drink it several times a day! I wait til its on sale and gold card week at GNC and stock up, just got more yesterday!
-
YES! They keep me motivated! I read Muscle and Fitness Hers and Oxygen and look forward to reading the newest advice on workouts and food and supplements!
-
Yes it was from bodybuilding.com, its Jamie Easons LiveFit 12 week plan..... My husband went with me and we just got some plain old GNC powder that he will use as well.
-
I also take the flinstones since i cant swallow pills, but i have to take extra calcium and vit. d as well
-
Thanks that does help a lot. I've been looking at the plain old GNC BCAA powder, event hough the plan suggests something like xtend bcaa.....
-
I started a couple weeks ago a more intense lifting program (but am not "new" to lifting) .... I am "new" to supplements though. I've always jsut used ON whey protein and muti's.The BCAA's are the only other thing they recommend on this program. I eat clean, and am just trying to get all the info I can on BCAA's since I've…

How much is your daily protein intake? I'm 5' 8" 140 pounds, 29 years old. i try for around 150 grams of protein a day. When you set it up on MFP it goes to like 40 grams or something like that.....
-
I like optinum nutrition whey protein as well, I drink several shakes a day, sometimes with water and with skim milk after workouts for the carbs.... I dont like beans and can't eat much red meat as well.... so I've found the shakes really help me to get my protein level to the 150-175 grams I need every day!
-
No, he is an inch taller than me and weighs about 40 pounds more, of course his is all mostly muscle. But about 5 years ago, I weighed about 60 pounds more than he did..... and none of it was muscle! lol
-
I'm looking for a good one too..... would love to get one that measures body fat % but not sure on wether they really work or not, have heard both ways...
-
I agree with this, this is what I use, I've lost over 100 pounds, it helps me feel full, and since I lift it really helps with recovery as well. I also mix it with skim milk still to help add the carbs I need....
-
Both at the same time, lifting will help you lose fat.... but you will be gaining muscle, so definately you'll want to tape and not worry so much about what the scale says.... but if you keep doing what your doing and keep lifting you will actually lose the fat faster than just trying to do a bunch of cardio... and when…
-
I lost a little over 100 pounds and did it with no pills..... though I do supplement, vitamins and whey protein .... just eating healthy and working out!
-
YES! Don't cave in, but dont deprive yourself either! Everything in moderation.... I know its hard! Keep logging your food intake so you know what your eating, and work out, if your lucky it will help keep you on track....
-
no its a good thing....! I usually get around 100-150 on protein.... of course I supplement with whey protein and I lift....
-
I've been thinking about starting too.... the one at my gym the coach says you burn about 600-700 calories per session!
-
I use a lot of stuff from Oxygen magazine and muscle and fitness Hers..... you can google them and find routines in them.... the Oxygen ones I think are a bit easier for beginners, it explains the movements more....
-
I've lost over 100 pounds..... Half was pregnancy weight..... I got married at 18, weighed about 135 (5' 8"), got pregnant at 20, thought I could eat whatever I wanted, gained over 100 pounds, when I went into labor and they weighed me at the hospital I was 250 pounds,..... after my other 2 pregnancies, I was so big I…
