Every week that I stay within my caloric goals, I feel more confident.
-
If I exceed my caloric goal one day, or an entire weekend, I just start back up on Monday. You may be eating too few calories, maybe add about 300 more. I don't know your weight, height or even if you are male or female...but if you are always hungry, eat more protein.
-
Just curious, why is your protein intake so high?
-
I floss and brush my teeth after dinner. It is a reminder that I am done eating and I am less likely to snack.

dumb bells, crunches, jogging trampoline, squats, push ups, lunges, jumping jacks, plank, yoga...just to name a few.

Our tomatoes are almost done for the season, still have lettuce, chard, beets, carrots, herbs, beans..getting ready to plant my winter crop, dark greens, broccoli, and probably brussel sprouts.

Using a scale is more accurate, but I use both, but mostly I weight my food with a scale.
-
Sorry, but you don't gain 20 pounds in 6 months without eating more and moving less. Even an extra 70 calories a day can add up. Eat healthier, move more and wear a mask. Thank you for work as a healthcare technician, please stay safe. Talk to your physician.
-
Sorry, I do not see a difference.
-
Just remind yourself that it is not going to happen over night, be patient with yourself, and think of it as a life changing goal, not just a weight loss goal. Best to you!
-
Cookies and candies are not worth the calories, I would rather save the calories for wine.
-
I would say set the goal to lose 1/2 lb. a week.

Okay you are a 5'-2" female. What is your current weight and what weight are you trying to get down to? My concern is that you are not eating enough and that you sound like you are heading for a neurotic relationship with food. Eat, eat healthy and find a life style balance instead of starving yourself. My two cents.

Maybe you should talk to a therapist, just talk it out and see if you can't just get yourself in touch with the present you and stop dwelling on who you were when you were in school. At your height, you are probably already at the perfect weight. Good luck to you and congratulations for your transformation.
-
That's fantastic! I agree, it's a life style, not a quick fix. You got this!!
-
I usually lose weight on holiday because I am walking more.
-
Changing into my walking clothes as soon as I got home from work and headed out the door! 1.5 kilometers!

I lived in Northern Minnesota for 21 years. I was in my best shape in the winter; ice skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, winter camping and hiking.
-
Congratulations! You look amazing.

5'-2" started at 135 BC (before Covid), and got up to 143. I'm in San Francisco and are gyms are just opening up now, mine however won't open until probably mid-January. I'm walking, doing calisthenics and using my dumbbells at home and most importantly I have started logging into my FitnessPal. Today is day 8, keeping on…

"Covid curves," I like that, it sounds better than Covid pounds. Good attitude!
-
I think most of us working from home put on some Covid pounds. I kept to my work routine, but found myself baking weekly and drinking a lot more than normal. Ten pounds later, I am NOT baking and not drinking...as much. I find sparkling water and tea help me stave off hunger until it's meal time. Walking daily helps too.…
-
Maybe your intestines were just very full before...
-
I was able to keep down water and tea...I kept hydrated and just slept for days. Sorry you ended up in ER.
-
I'm just getting over the flu. I drank tea and water for several days, no food, I just couldn't keep anything down. So should we consume more calories when we're sick? I suppose it depends on what you are sick with.
-
At 5'6", 125 pounds, if you lost 13 pounds in a week it would be noticeable, it would probably mean your arms fell off.
-
I live in the US and I weigh my good in grams. We run 10 K races, we drink liters of liquids, we use metric in school, in college, for engineering, for mathematics, for all sciences...all of our food packaging is in both, I prefer to use the metric system, like the rest of the world.

It's only a week. Don't stress about it, just keep doing what you're doing, the process does work. Come back in another 3 weeks and tell us what happened. I'm kind of in the same boat, but chock it up to gaining muscle and retaining water.
-
Congratulations!
