No it really isn't. I live here and like any city, don't leave anything in your car. Don't believe all the bad press.

I'm 5'-2" and weigh everything, workout most every day and I only lose about 1/2 pound a week. Over the past five months I have lost ten pounds. Remember, it's not a race to drop weight, it's about changing your habits, your movement, your portion sizes. You've got this!!

Low fat mozzarella cheese stick or turkey sticks by Chomps. High in protein, low in calories.

I'm wearing clothing from my closet that I haven't been able to wear in a couple of years!

Be patient with yourself and trust the process. You didn't gain this weight overnight, it's not going to go away overnight. My tip is don't think of this as a diet, think of it as changing your habits for life. You've got this!

If you don't reach your weight goal, it will not be a waste of money, because you will still have an amazing adventure in Peru!
-
You don't have much weight to lose, so I would say that losing 3-4 pounds in 45 days is a lot! I only lose a half a pound a week when I am working out and when I am watching what I eat. If your periods have stopped, my guess is that you are under weight. What is your height and weight?

My mini goal is to fit into my favorite jeans without a muffin top. :)

You start by logging in one day, stay within your goal. You also start by going for a walk around the block, then another, and another. Don't starve yourself, eat healthy but watch your portions. Each day becomes a week, and then a month, and then 6 months. If you mess up one day by over eating or not moving, don't beat…

Forty pounds in a month is extreme and unrealistic. Four pounds a month might be more realistic. Good luck on not smoking, get out and walk whenever you have a craving.
-
Two pounds a month, that sounds about right. Good job!

I think of 'detox' as a treatment for helping your body end its addiction to drug or alcohol abuse...cabbage soup just won't cut it. That said, the soup looks delicious!

You need to eat more and be patient in your weight loss, it's not a race, it's about changing your habits for life.
-
Take your measurements, My Fitness Pal has a check-in for this. I think you will be surprised how your body composition changes over the next several months. I'm lifting weights and my weight loss is slow as I only have 12-15 pounds to lose, but I am noticing the inches drop and noticing that my clothes are fitting better.
-
You have not mentioned your height and your weight, so I don't know if you are close to your target goal or not. I have 10-12 pounds to lose, so a half a pound loss a week is about right. Keep doing what you are doing and let us know how how it's going in another few months.

Don't fast if it leads to binging. Eat. Eat protein, eat fruits and veggies, these foods will make you feel full. You are learning how to eat again, be patient with yourself.
-
For me I have to eat to not think about food all the time. I eat the right foods to lose weight, lots of veggies and protein so I feel full. I also drink a lot of water and tea. It's about getting back into a healthy life style with food and movement again. Don't starve yourself.

That's a good place to start. As you increase your strength, increase your numbers and add new exercises. Way to go!
-
Bobbie how tall are you and what do you weigh? Female?
-
That looks like just another fad diet to me. No thank you.
-
In my experience, binging happens when I am not eating enough. Eat healthy foods, lots of veggies and fruits, be sure to eat enough fiber and protein. I haven't seriously binged in years, just sometimes eat too much of something sweet or salty crunchy. One day at a time, log everything, and don't beat yourself up if you…

Lose weight or loose weight? Very different things.

Two weeks is not enough time to notice weight loss. Myself, I lose 1/2 pound a week at best. Slow and steady...get back to us in 8 weeks and let us know how it's going.
-
I rarely eat fast food, but I definitely work wine into my caloric goal!
-
If you don't want to step on the scale right now, measure yourself and notice how your clothing fits. Don't be disheartened, we all slip up, just remember to take it one day at a time. Remember you are doing this for health, it's about changing your habits for life. When you feel comfortable, step on the scale and see…

My coworker brought in Krispy Kreme donuts, I told myself no. I even opened the box and looked, but closed the lid and walked away. I was very proud of myself. I like wine, so I would rather save calories for that!
-
That does not seem like enough protein. How many grams does MFP calculate for you? It's the protein that helps me not feel hungry all the time.
-
I have the same issue, sorry I'm no help.
-
Every week that I stay within my caloric goals, I feel more confident.

If I exceed my caloric goal one day, or an entire weekend, I just start back up on Monday. You may be eating too few calories, maybe add about 300 more. I don't know your weight, height or even if you are male or female...but if you are always hungry, eat more protein.
