  • My favorite paleo cake is the carrot cake from Make It Paleo (cookbook). They also have the recipe on their website. thefoodloverskitchen
  • Follow the P90X nutrition guide, to a "T" if you can. The first phase will really set the tone for the entire program! Protein is your friend, embrace the protein! I'm a P90X grad, so feel free to add me. :D
  • Personally, I've done programs like P90X and BodyBeast and have gotten great results in the ab and leg department. And my glutes are MUCH rounder and "perky" for a lack of better term. P90X mixes weights and cardio with yoga to get an all around fitness approach. BodyBeast is based solely on gaining muscle mass. Are you…
  • Hey Erin! I'm so excited that you're doing P90X...it's really one of my favorite workouts! I think your goal of 110 is great for your height...should fall into the healthy weight range. One thing I'd recommend is following the nutrition guide. I think with those workouts, 1200 may not be enough to fuel your body. I was…
  • I'm on Day 37...finished my 30 days on April 2nd. I don't have an official "stop" date yet. I am really liking how I feel and don't want it to end! My husband's birthday is on May 2nd, and I'd like to celebrate with some Paleo cupcakes a bakery in town makes. That may be the end of my streak...that would make 60 or so…
  • I get mine at Costco or Target. I have a date problem! Seriously, it's sooo hard for me to eat just one...or two...or three...

  • I'll be finishing mine up on April 2nd, but will most likely continue on through April into May! I don't log my food, but if anyone needs support let me know!
  • I'm on Day 18! Loving it! Let me know if you have any questions!
  • Coconut milk from the can! I buy Thai Kitchen. I'm 90% sure guar gum is compliant...but anyone else want to put their 2c in?
  • How's everyone holding up? Day 3!
  • Today's menu: Steak and Eggs Apple for snack - was going to dip in Sunbutter, but found out my Sunbutter wasn't compliant, so I need to get some Almond butter :( Lunch was Fiesta Tuna Salad with home made mayo and 1/2 a cucumber and 1c of baby carrots Snack was large handful of Almonds Dinner is shrimp sauteed in coconut…
  • That's awesome, Meredith! Feel free to add me if you'd like. :D
  • I love NomNom Paleo as well as Paleomg! Marks Daily Apple is a daily read. I feel like I'm pretty well prepped for this... I don't have ISWF...yet. I'd really like Well Fed, too. But good to hear about the other recommendations for books/recipes! Thanks everyone. :D
  • Woops, read that wrong. I thought you said you were gone 12 weeks, but looks like it's 5 months. Then you can just repeat the whole program over once you finish once. Also, the workouts are 30mins-60 mins depending on the day.
  • I've done P90X and Insanity...30DS, too. If you're looking for something with little to no equipment I would suggeset Insanity. You need zero equipment. It's all cardio and resistance moves using your own body weight. It's pretty intense, but you can modify the moves and I know that for me, I noticed a huge improvement…
  • Green Monster smoothies! Just google for a ton of recipes. You can get in a lot of nutrition that way and customize it to what you like! I eat this every morning for breakfast: 8oz Coconut Milk 1T Sunbutter 1t vanilla extract 1 banana 1c spinach 1T coconut oil 1T Flax Seed 2 scoops protein powder
  • I just finished Insanity and I'm going to guess that you're holding on to a bit of water weight due to changing programs. After 'recovery week' weigh again. I 'think' sodium should be under 2500. Also remember to get in an extra glass of water for each hour of physical activity you do a day. Keep using mfp to track…
  • Honestly, I never thought about washing the strap until I saw this thread. I do wipe of the sensors though.
  • Must. Try. Bullet. Proof. Coffee. ASAP
  • If you're in ketosis, I know your breath can smell funky. Wonder if it has the same effect on your perspiration?
  • It's all good Scubagoil! You will lose body fat doing P90X and Insanity. Since March I went from 30% to being 16%. Obese to fit/lean. CRAAZY!
  • Your slight weight gain is most likely water retention in response to repair the damaged muscle tissue (which will happen most likely with the weight training and intense cardio). I notice I'm usually a little heavier if I really push myself one week, but it will go away when soreness subsides. Also, if you're working to…
  • In my experience, I've been paleo (90%) for 2 1/2 weeks. Dropped 3lbs. I hadn't lost weight in 2 months and went from 134 and 18%BF to 131 and 16%BF. Not even 3 weeks. I'll take it.
  • My local B&N is out of their new book. Guess I'll have to order from Amazon. I'll look into Mark S. 21-day challenge. See what that's about, too. Thanks for telling me to wait, WeightWars. I appreciate that tid-bit. It would be sooo hard to obstain for 7 days at a cabin w/my family. (Especially when others plan the lunches…
  • A lot of people start out with a half of a scoop as a whole scoop is TOO much at first. And yeah, you have to play around with the recipes to get it just right. Almond milk instead of regular milk. Add some PB2, add a banana, blend with ice, etc. I feel bad that some people think it's a "gimmick". It's an amazing product…
  • The food on Peak Paleo looks FABULOUS!
  • I'm surprised any nutritionist told you to eat Yoplait Light. It has like 10-15g of sugar alone! If you're concerned about losing weight, keep it as low as possible! Even if it comes from fruit.
  • I did P90X and went from 35% to 22% in 90 days. I'm doing Insanity now and hoping to be in the 17-18% range by the end. I just used the Navy BodyFat Calculator as I do not have access to the other methods. I know there's a margin of error, but I used the same method to calculate both percentages.
  • Agree w/Spooky...Mark's and Nom Nom. Paleomg - my favorite!
