  • Thank you for sharing. I had to look up "laminectomy". Our stories actually sound quite similar. I was also lifting in January. I haven't had too much pain fortunately. That's why it has taken such a long time for me to figure out what I can and can't do. With some exceptions, the pain doesn't start until the next day…
  • Using a heart rate monitor made a big difference in my running. I can be sure I am working as hard as I should be whether I'm running outdoors or on the treadmill. If my pace slows because I haven't run for a while I work to keep my heart rate up where it should be.
  • Finding professional help in our area is a huge problem. There is nobody local to us. She drove an hour and a half to go to the doctor she did go to. She doesn't have a car or license or gas money so she relies on other people to get there. Everyone in the family can see that there's a problem but nobody knows what to do.…
  • Thank you for your supportive comments. I'm thinking on the grocery shopping and cooking with her. She doesn't seem to have the strength to take on such a project right now. She may go to the store and spend the money but I'm sure she would get distracted and I would end up cooking what we had bought alone.
  • I highly recommend any pilates you can get. I love love love it for increasing my core strength. It encouraged me to loose weight too so the muscle shows. Even though I don't do pilates regularly now, I believe I am still benefiting from the strength I gained when I was.

  • You are very welcome. I want this so much for you. I thought some more about your question, "Do I consider myself to be a success?" I think that helping you reach your goal will truely feel like a success...A type of pay it forward thing. I Love You Sis! Jill
  • Mpf is a great place to start. You will have all the tools and support you need to meet your goals here.
  • I'm working on my second round. Your right it's harder to stick to it when you know what's coming but I also know the awesome results that I will achieve. I could run a 5K in 30 mins when I finished last time. I also bought ripped in 30 and I plan to start that as soon as I'm finished with the shred. Best wishes. We can do…
  • Congrats on the great start. It may not seem like much but it is. If you are losing enough fat so that is measureable while gaining muscle then you are well on your way. Watch out for the scale. It can be a crutch that can hurt your efforts. I just finally learned this. When I would see the weight on the scale I figured I…
  • I have one. It's the only piece of exercise equipment I ever bought other than my beloved tread mill. I don't really know what to say about it. I did use it. My strap actually broke on it at one point and my husband had to bolt it back down. I've been doing enough pilates for the past year that I don't seem to have any…
  • ..... so once you turn fat into muscles your body will work more efficiently and eventually burn off the fat and lbs!! ok thats my rant for the day!! a lb is a lb!! [/quote] When they say 'muscle weighs more than fat' I think they do mean "muscle is denser than fat therefore takes up less space". It's just a bit easier to…
  • Thank you for sharing this. It made me tear up because how soon we forget that we are his and not our own.
  • Someone suggested doing levels 1 and 2 together as a 40 minute session. I tried it on Saturday. It worked pretty well by skipping the cooldown of level one and fast forwarding through the warmup of level two. My arms were sore again because I think level 3 actually is not as intensive on the arm exercises. I'm planning to…
  • I had a horrible experience last year. I thought I was going to make my dress for my son's wedding from a dress pattern. I picked out the pattern without measuring my waist and it was a disaster. The size 8 pattern, which is my normal clothes size, is supposed to be about a 24 inch waist which I'm 29 on a good day.
  • I'm here Day 9 of level 3 if I counted right. I'm thinking about what I want to do next. I thought I might try putting levels 1 and 2 together for one workout and mix in level 3 a couple times per week. I'd definitely like to get some more Jillian DVD's.
  • Level 3 Day 5 Wow what a workout. I purposely took yesterday off from all exercise except some nessary show shoveling but I still don't feel strong enough to say I have level 3 mastered.
  • Today was day 3 of level 3. Some of the jumping stuff is so tuff. I didn't cry today during the sumo sqat jumps like the previous two days. I feel sorry for anyone in an apartment with neighbors trying to do this video. I'm a little disappointed because there is no weight lose to report and no inches lost either. I know I…
  • I've been cooking seperately for probably over two years. Sometimes I steal some of his hamburg for his spagetti to make my salad a taco salad. I frequently eat a small portion of the meat I cooked for him with a big portion of vegis while he eats his potatoes and gravy.
  • Day 11 of level 2. I will be also moving on to level 3 on Saturday. The only thing I'm improvising on level 2 is the double jump cardio from the last segment. I'm doing one double jump then a single alternating the whole time. I figure Natalie is a basketball player who has been jumping her whole life.
  • Today was day 8 of level 2. I'm still planning to make it more of a six week thing than 30 days so level 3 will start on Saturday. Hope I'm not the only one dragging this out. I think there are going to be great benefits either way.
  • Today was day 7 of level 2. I'm really loving this. Hope everyone else is too.
  • Today was day 6 of level 2. Still have to work really hard to keep up with the cardio but starting to enjoy the victory afterwards.
  • Today was level 2 day 3 for me. Still really have to work to push throught the entire workout. Can't say that I'm loving level 2 yet.
  • Did day 2 of level 2 today. Wow. Can't think of much to say other than wow. It's difficult to type cause my fingers are even shaking.
  • Complested Day 13 of level 1 today. On to level 2 tomorrow. Some of it looks pretty challenging.
  • Hello fellow shredders. Level 1 day 12 for me. I am really comfortable with level one now but still plan to wait until Saturday to start level 2.
  • Did level 1 Day 11 today. I'm going to stretch things out into more of a 6 week program instead of 30 days.
  • 30DS Level 1 Day 9. I did take yesterday off from all exercise. I felt like wonderwoman with fully rested muscles. I'm really enjoying this program.
  • Day 6 level 1 complete. Almost ready to use the audio option of turning Jillian's instructions off.
  • Completed level one day five yesterday. I'm still feeling energized like I want to keep going. Day six today.
