Good job on making the choice for a healthier you! I started and failed this program three times before but as of this time around, I'm on week 8 of P90X and feeling great. My biggest culprit in the past had been eating properly and I think I finally have it down this time. My recommendation is to buy a HRM to accurately…

Greetings! I have found this site to be quite helpful on my journey. MFP tools seem to prefer the Keep It Simple, Stupid method. I have done many hours of separate research and found the math to be comparable. Don't let yourself be overwhelmed with acronyms when you first start. As you get closer to your weight goal…

That is odd. I'm a 5'11" male who weighs 200lbs and for two lbs a week it has me at 1990 calories per day. I do have it set at a moderately active lifestyle. I haven't lost any weight these last two weeks but my four core measurements have all gone down, so I'll take that I guess

I'm a slightly bigger guy who asked a question about this in the forums about a week ago. I'm 5'11" and 200. Doing the P90X exercises will be about 650-750 calorie per hour, an additional 200 calories for the disks that have the ab ripper X on them. I do bring it, I'm quite motivated these days and my heart rate (according…

I tore it up for awhile through my 20's. I still like quality live music but I'm finding fewer venues these days that I'm comfortable in. I doubt I'll head back out more than 2-3 times a year as I'm finding I no longer like alcohol or the typical deep fried bar foods

@mreeves261 yes, I freshly reset goals before starting the P90X series and I updated the stats on my HRM. @ sarahthes yeah, I think the 4th time is the charm for me in terms of eating enough and eating proper fuel. I'm feeling great and I'm getting results so I guess I shouldn't knock it

I picked up a Tony Little gazelle a couple of years back mainly for the non-impact aspect of exercising. Its been a decent machine given is price ((vs. elliptical machines), I did have to buy a replacement piston after two years but that was only like $30). Like any other machine, it only works if you put the proper effort…

Checking in from the Pacific NW, I've only seen FSU on TV twice and, like OSU, I wasn't impressed either time. I wouldn't be surprised to see MSU knock off OSU at all. Although I'm burned out of the SEC, I'd like to see a Mizz/FSU game and Mizz to win it all.

don't forget to sunscreen your legs, I just went rafting on Saturday and my legs are still burned :-/

Throughout most of my adult life I had an issue of overestimating my calories burned when I worked out. Because all I basically did was row (I have a bad back), my body became incredibly attuned to it and there really wasn't much burn at all. Yet according to online calculators they said I burned twice what I actually did.…

I don't have that level of control just yet. Right now I'm just happy that I didn't buy ice cream as a comfort food (Its almost 90 degrees here in the Seattle area- pretty hot for us). Great job though!

Not counting pizza? About five years. My gut is all from pizza, beer, and nachos Oh yeah, Subway 3-4 times a year when I'm stranded.

If you are at your calorie goal and still feel healthy then I'd say you are right on track. I'm only half way to my goal and I too consider myself to be an average person who eats average to meet his calorie goal. From what I've read in the forums, you only need to pay attention to macros and further nit-pick your foods…

I just went up and saw a bout of the Rat City Roller Girls (Seattle) my favorite name there was Muffstache, she really looked like she was proud of her name too!

I take a multivitamin (Usana), fish oil, and Tumeric (for anti-inflammatory purposes (for my back)).

Coming from a shy person such as myself, it takes courage to compliment a woman. From me anyways, it IS sincere

if this was reddit, I'd upvote this!

I've read the ten posting in this topic and I still can't figure it out, what does DOMS stand for?

When I used to go to a gym I would want a fan on. Its hard for me to muster any energy to work out harder when I'm already hot and sweaty after 15 mins. If I have a cool breeze, I can keep the pace up for an hour.

Least Favorite: mushrooms (its a psychological thingy) Most Favorite: cucumbers

I have a polstar f7 and it has pretty similar numbers to MFP when I do cardio. When I lift weights, my HRM shows me burning more calories than MFP's guess. We are all different peeps.

As a kid I thought I had seen a ghost in my house on 3 or 4 different occasions but there wasn't ever any proof. As a 33yo now, I'm assuming I just had an active imagination back then.

Well there is the common courtesy aspect of allowing room for the other vehicle to open his door so he can drive home. If the OP couple used your strategy the first driver would have been stuck.

I don't get why all the hating on bread. I have two slices of bread pretty much every day (and a bowl of oatmeal) and I'm still losing weight. Its all in moderation!

I've been using the program for about three weeks now mainly in hopes to just melt the overall body flab, not to bulk up, and I am progressing nicely so far. I use fish oil and whey powder supplements in addition to my normal daily multi-vitamin and it seems to be working for me. Make no mistake, if you aren't in shape,…
