That is a bit of a flippant comment. I am 5'3" and my TDEE is 1900/day - which means 1400 for deficit is absolutely fine for me. I do make mistakes and I do have a good time - maybe I just drink less than you do. I did Insanity last year and was really happy with the results, glad it worked out for you too. Keep it up!

Start a weight lifting programme now, thank me later  :flowerforyou:

I don't really have an answer to your question, but one thing occurred to me when I thought about the idea of running/building muscle, and it is perfectly represented in this photo: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BHnMRiwCUAAgdgN.jpg . Sorry, not sure how to pst. Clearly, running does not build muscle (not 'serious' muscle),…

This kind of story makes me smile :) Thank you so much, and congratulations. Keep going, what an awesome job :))

I don't have much to add, I think everyone has already said it: portion control. Nonetheles, there seems to be something in the above comment that I didn't see elsewhere: you are not only setting an example for your kids, as you say, you are somehow changing their lives. If one of them has a special condition, than this…

Why disgusted? And what do you mean, "I no longer find rail-thin college girls to be all that attractive'? Are you judging attractiveness based on fat? Oh no no, Sir, you're getting yourself in for big trouble. What if they had curves? Would that be less disgusting? People 'make fun of' and 'are disgusted by' things that…

"About Me: That guy at the gym who is always there but doesn't look very buff for how much time he spends working out." I see this your profile description. How many short shorts, yoga pants and tank tops have you got to blame for this? Seriously dude, you're not 14 anymore. And there is cure for that sort of dysfunction.

What's your calorie intake? You may be starving yourself and losing too quickly to maintain muscle. It will also possibly mean you'll have more loose skin as the body has less time to adapt to the change. If you open your diary, maybe you can have more realistic opinions.
-
It seems unwise to me to suggest anyone to eat below their BMR - that should be your absolute minimum a day! As for percentages I am no expert, seems ok. Good luck!
-
Sometimes I wonder if people have heard of Google. Seriously.

I've read people giving all sorts of opinions when you lose a lot of weight - mostly I believe those comments are out of concern, even if they don't sound very friendly. Saying that, and looking at your photos, I think there may be another element to it. You have lost a lot of weight but you are focusing on the scale. You…

Save your money. Buy a pair of callipers from http://www.accumeasurefitness.com. Throw the scale away, it will make you a slave of it. Measure your body. Fat weighs differently from muscle, your total weight means very little :)
-
And another win!
-
This is full of win :drinker:

I know it is probably pointless to tell you this. If you're lucky, in four years time (that's how long it took me) you'll realise you really need to eat more in order to lose weight unless you want to be classed as an anorexic. If you want to be smarter than me (not that hard) trust my words. Go on the forums and find the…

For me, this is the best. Amazing protein content, no fat, very low sugar: only the good stuff! And look at flavour options… YUM! http://products.usa.fage.eu/fage-total-0-6-oz

I love you :drinker:
-
Would you consider just not looking at the scale then? You look better, you're slimmer, clothes are getting looser every day… Who cares what the scale says??
-
What do you mean 'You know it's bad?!) Search 'eat more to weight less' in the forums. Believe it. Be happy :)
-
I have a feeling that if you go on here and input your stats, you'll realise you're eating way below what you should, but I may be wrong… Also, and although I am not an expert and haven't been doing that well myself (who can be happy resisting pizza?! ;P) there seems to be an agreement (amongst really fit people who have…

I have questions to ask and don't mind (nice) unsolicited advice… I am not exactly a noob, but only now started lifting and need some help. I try to eat well but chocolate and gin and tonic attack me somewhat regularly… Do I qualify?
-
I looked at your diary - not only you have the intake caloric goal of a 12 year old girl, most days you eat about 60% of it. Sort this out, seriously :noway:
-
Probably the best advice you'll get. EDA: I do strength train gin three times a week, yoga the other days. I find it a good combination - yoga is not only another form of strength training, but also relaxing and a way of meditation. Please never eat below your BMR - MFP will give you 1200 calories a day if you say you want…

That is one amazing story. Well done, and thank you for sharing :)
