  • haha! Thats the best advice I've seen on here!
  • Happy birthday and congrats! Thats awesome!!!!
  • How is that not awesome? Way to go! I think that is how I'll spend my day tomorrow! I would love one day like that a week to make up for the white chocolate mochas I drink every morning! it's like IF without the fasting! if a person had net 0 frequently that would be not awesome but once in a while is totally fine.
  • That is awesome! I'm going to do that! I need something to motivate me every day. I have a long term goal and a vacation coming up in a month but I really need something to keep me going every day and money is a good motivator!. Thanks for sharing! I think I'm also gonna start putting money in the jar after every time I…
  • It's just my opinion, I'm not an expert but I will be going for a jog in the morning, ordering loads of Chinese food for the party (since it's lunar new year too) and drinking a few beers. I may eat a hundred or two fewer calories every day next week if I feel I really over did it. As long as we return to our regular…
  • I will suggest getting a fitbit, it calculates the steps you take plus your bmr (the ammount of calories you burn by being alive) and tells you how many calories you need to eat that day. you sound like a very fact based person and this thing gives you more data than you will ever need on graphs and pie charts. it's really…
  • Thanks everyone! Lots of great ideas to try!
  • Feeling very inspired! I was hoping to hit my goal weight in about 8 months, seeing that you did that in 7 months gives me hope! Thanks for sharing!
  • Stir fry veggies with yakisoba noodles!
  • I started making yakisoba. The noodles are pretty inexpensive. I add a ton of mung bean sprouts, shreaded carrots, broccoli and spinach. I stir fry all the veggies with a little sesame oil then add the noodles. You can google recipes for teriyaki sauce, I found one that is soy sauce, water, apple juice, minced garlic and…
  • I do 30! I started a few weeks ago when I was reading a thread on how to exercise when you have a desk job.
  • Can you tell a white lie and say you are under doctors orders to eat more veggies and no fried food? It would be polite to say something ahead of time if you are planning on not eating their food, just so they don't buy extra food that you won't be eating. I can soooo relate to 4 days turning into 5 turning into a month of…
  • It made me laugh the first time I saw it too, it's supposed to be funny! A tattoo can be lasered off though or even cut off. So really, nothing is permanent, lol. As far as a reward for yourself, what about a weekend away, I have been feeling a little unmotivated lately but I just booked a flight to visit cousin in…
  • Very interesting! So is 10,000 steps a day considered active even if your heart rate was not elevated for much of it?
  • Im turning 30 in September. I've been this weight (losing 10-15 lbs and gaining it back) for 12 years. i feel like if I don't really get to a healthy BMI (lose about 40ish lbs) by the time I turn 30 I never will. i'm finally fed up, tired of wasting my time, tired of wearing long sleeves in the summer because I don't like…
  • Wow! you look great!!!! Congrats and thanks for sharing! I'm dreaming of the day when I am out of the overweight BMI category as well!
  • I'm eating well but I've had a busy week and not moving as much as I planned. I've lost 4lbs so far. I wanted to spend January focusing on my eating habbits and February developing an exercise/lifting routine. Hopefilly I'll have those things mastered by St Patrick's day and when June rolls around I'll hit my goal!
  • uuuh...that didn't post the way I wanted to, but you get what I was trying to say : )
  • I get little rewards, like a manicure or new pair of jeans or shoes. I haven't hit a big number yet like 20kg, that deserves something big!!! Maybe a spa day , manicure, pedicure, facial and massage. I'm still thinking about what to do when I hit my goal, probably a tattoo. I saw one that said "Nothing is permanent, not…
  • Coffee and cheese! I'm struggling to find a good replacement for my favorite (white chocolate mocha) but nothing else tastes as good I've just been limiting myself instrad of having one every day : ) As for cheese, I just weigh out my portions. i can't have just a little Nutella : ) I recently found the little packs with…
  • I have ben using a fitbit zip. I have had it for two weeks, I told it I wanted to lose 2lbs a week and so far i have. Seems pretty acurate to me. Although one day I noticed it was logging steps taken while I was driving in slow rush hour traffic. Other than that I really like it!
  • Are you drinking plenty of water? I used to mistake the feeling of being thirsty for being hungry. Eating was always more fun than drinking water ; )
  • Yes! It took a while but I find myself doing that often. Also, after a stressfull day at work I used to find myself in the drive thru of a Wendys or Starbucks, now I relieve stress by going for a jog!
  • I look smaller than i am too. Once my trainer was doing the body fat pinchy thingy, after he calculated the number he said "Lets do that again". Then he did it a third time. Then he said "I guess you're just that big' I was 170 at the time so I was barely in the obese category but still...people should keep their opinions…
  • I've joined a couple groups on here. One to lose 14 lbs by Feb 14 (I'll brobably not lose more than 10 but I'm ok w/ that) And another group where everyone made their own goals and are trying to reach them by March 17, St Patricks Day. I've also joined a group for people turning 30 this year and have made many friends…
  • Seems way to low, I recently got a fitbit and it tells mfp how many calories I have burrned throughout the day then tells me how many I need to eat. I eat about 1,500 and I set my goal to lose 2 lbs/week. On days I burn more I eat more, on days I burn less I eat less. Eating a set number of calories everyday doesn't make…
  • Hi, this sounds awesome. I'm trying to lose 2lbs a week, that will put me at 169. If I happen to get to 165 that will be the lowest number I've seen since I was 19 (I'm 29 now). Week 1 [1/13-1/20] SW:185lbs Week 2 [1/20-1/27] Week 3 [1/27-2/3] Week 4 [2/3-2/10] Week 5 [2/10-2/17] Week 6 [2/17-2/24] Week 7 [2/24-3/3] Week 8…
  • I like iced drinks so I get either a grande or tall soy latte and add 2 splenda. I'm from Seattle so I loooove some Starbucks, here is a link to their skinnny menu all drinks are under 200 calories http://www.starbucks.com/menu/nutrition/20-under-200 Hope this helps!
  • bmr is the amount of calories your body would use up if you were on bed rest. you can google bmr calculator to find yours. the important thing to know is tdee, find out that number, eat 15-20% fewer calories than that and you will lose weight.
