  • omg....so funny. That sounds just like me and my daughter; mine is also ten. I am so dreading the teenage years with her. She's already such a little diva with major attitude.
  • Wow....I never thought of it this way, but it makes perfect sense to me that everything should be reduced proportionately in relation to your calorie intake.
  • eeeewwww!!!!!

  • Definately look to see how many users have confirmed that particular data.

  • I personally cannot do a cheat day because I am far too prone to just falling of the wagon completely. I would have too much trouble going back to eating healthy after an entire day of debauchery. I have historically had a problem with too easily falling back into my bad eating habits. Thus, I have to be pretty strict…

  • Way to go. I stopped even buying fruit snacks a long time ago. They were always a pantry staple for us as a snack for the kids, but I think I ate them more than they did. The kids don't even seem to notice that we no longer have them and are just as happy to have a piece of fresh fruit for a snack. Again, way to go on…

  • I did the double take as well. You're looking great!
  • Half the calories of my current peanut butter; I'll take it. THANK YOU!!!!! :flowerforyou: And, BTW, my jaw literally dropped when I saw your before and after pic comparison......truly amazing.
  • Great job; you are looking so fantastic!!!! I'm thankful for people like you sharing your progress. It's so inspiring and gives me encouragement. You're living proof that it can be done and I'm so happy for you.
  • It is hard, but can be done. It's especially good to keep in mind the influence your smoking has on your kids. Any time you want to smoke, think of the long term effects it could have on the kids. My husband and I just quit on Oct. 7. It was a birthday present for our daughter's second birthday. Making it a birthday…
  • Everyone here is really supportive. I could use more friends myself; friend request headed your way. Congratulations on the 85 you've already lost; that's amazing! Welcome and best wishes for continued success.
  • I peel and dice a small apple and put it in with the oats prior to cooking to soften the apples some. Then after cooking add just a splash of skim milk, a pinch of brown sugar, and cinnamon. Everyone in my house loves it that way.

  • I think I'm going to have my husband go through the candy that my three kids bring home. If he removes all of the Almond Joy bars and hides them really well, I should be fine......in theory.
  • I second what Eric says. I eat 5 times a day and never wind up feeling horribly hungry in between.
  • haha! "left 4 dead 2 without eating". Sounds like my husband's former routine. It's tough to find time to be a serious gamer and be fit. He now plays while riding the stationary bike.
  • Don't feel bad; I've been here for three months and only have a few friends. I have noticed that the encouragement they give is great for lifting your spirits and motivation level. So, since we both need more friends, I'm sending you a friend request. Welcome and good luck!
  • Welcome and good luck. I've been on this site for about a month and a half; it's been great. The people are really supportive of one another and have lots of good feedback when you have questions. If you would like some support, I'd be glad to give some. Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • That's exactly why I stopped tracking my sugars. I knew that all of my sugar intake daily was from fruit and veggie sources, but it's discouraging to see numbers in the red. So I just stopped tracking it. I was tired of depriving myself of some servings of fresh fruit because of the sugars. As far as I'm concerned, the…
  • "I'm really into corsets, but they are really expensive so I am going to invest in a killer handmade corset and have a photo shoot and give hubby a special photo for his wallet and not care who he shows it off to! " I've had this same idea in mind for a very long time myself. I also can't wait until I'm confident enough to…
  • If support is what you need, you don't need to look any further. The members on this site are so incredibly supportive of each other; like a close knit family really. I'll friend request you; I could use some more friends myself.
  • It would be nice if the package were specific, huh? I had this same trouble figuring out if a 1/2 cup serving of oatmeal meant dry or cooked. Just like you I googled it, went to quaker oats website, etc. It can be exhaustive getting accurate info. As far as pasta, I am not absolutely certain, but I do believe that the…
  • Thanks for this post. I was reading the other day about the benefits of cinnamon. I thought to myself, I'm gonna put cinnamon on a lot more stuff now (oatmeal, apples, peaches, yogurt). Anyway, I decided I would start doing this, but guess I forgot 'cuz I hadn't put it into action yet. Thanks for the reminder :)
  • I know, right. These days a trip to the store will take 3 times the amout of time it used to because I read all the labels now. I figure I'm losing time, but gaining so much more (except for more weight). BTW, your baby is so stinkin cute!!! I just love squishy, chubby baby cheeks!
  • I happen to be a girl that was blessed in the booty department as well. There are many things I dislike about my body, but my rear end is not one of them. My husband sure likes it too!
  • My boyfriend has made the exact same threat. It's hard not to weigh-in so often when you want to see results so badly. I found that my daily weighing was actually hindering my weight loss because I tend to be an emotional eater. I'd weigh myself, see no change, get discouraged, and eat poorly. It might be a good idea to…
  • That's awesome when they start making the healthier choices all on their own. We've been eating healthier as a family for about six months now. My children will choose an apple with peanut butter over cookies or chips these days. It really makes you feel good as a mom to know that you're equiping them with the knowledge to…
  • I buy the "healthy bunch" variety pack of popsicles. There's fudgsicles, regular fruit popsicles, and creamsicles all in one box. They're all sugar free and very low cal. The kids are not allowed to have the fudgsicles; those are strictly mom's; lol. Variety in the box means everyone's happy and I don't feel guilty about…
  • yeah, it's the ones closest to us that say the most hurtful things. My dad used to always call me "hippo hips, thunder thighs, and big butt bertha" as a kid. I know in my heart it was never meant to be hurtful and to him it was a joke. I always laughed it off myself and never was mad at him for it. I think it contributed…
  • Making a switch can be a shock to your tastebuds, but you eventually adjust. I had a hard time switching from sugar to splenda for my coffee, but now it's no big deal. As far as the ranch dressing goes, I've never tried the wish bone brand. When my family started eating healthier, we switched from hidden valley regular to…
