Toddler! Wait.

Never heard of these guys before. They look like an awesome channel to follow -- I'll be checking them out. Thanks!

Pretending to work. The focus is weak this morning.

Dang, he looks tall!

Swole chest!

@stanmann571 bacon cheeseburger is totally one thing, not two. :star: But really, sweet potato has been a successful addition to my diet. Super versatile, nutritious, and it tastes good. Also, dark beer. Or whiskey.

Cashews (in moderation), then Almonds and Pecans. I could eat any cashew prepared any way (especially when used for cheesecake or just salted/roasted). I realllllly love cocoa roasted almonds and unsalted pecans straight from the bag. I really don't like walnuts in my baked goods. I'd much prefer a pecan chocolate chip…

I would encourage you both to start using body measurements as well, since you've now incorporated strength training and exercise into your routines. Those measurements are often a better indicator of what's going on. She'll likely see a trim down in inches (yay, muscles!), even if her weight on the scale seems to…

I weigh regularly, regardless of "dropping the ball", to keep myself in check with reality. I do not, however, always log the weight in MFP. Even if I slip and it takes much longer to lose a pound, seeing the downward trend in MFP from where I started helps keep me from giving up. *shrug*

I looooove me some sweet potato. I have:* Swapped it in for white potatoes on top of Shepherd's Pie * Topped it with BBQ shredded chicken or pork * Oven baked it with rosemary and salt/pepper as french fries * Cubed it up and cooked it in a skillet with onion, apple and sausage for a breakfast hash * Roasted it with other…

@elizabethmcopeland Your text speech is, like, the cutest ever. <3 I could totally hear myself using similar phrasing, lol

Sweet potato hash: diced sweet potato diced onion diced apple chicken sausage Sautee the veggies in bacon fat (or butter, but why?) until the onion starts to soften. Add in the sausage, brown it up, then reduce heat and cover, so the sweet potato can soften. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then drizzle a bit of maple…

Same. Chocolate covered marizpan is SO. DAMN. GOOD. I don't care who looks at me weird for it. :p

Yes, that's what I've read about Casein. From what I can gather, it's used more to prevent muscle breakdown/loss, because it is so slow to digest, whereas the whey gives you a boost for muscle building. I haven't yet started any real circuit except some simple body weight strength exercises at home, since I'm trying to…

I find tuna to be a super cheap, easy, and low carb option for lunches. And it's pretty versatile - use it in wraps, on salads, with celery/carrots/etc. I'll also whip up a batch of meatballs (minus breadcrumbs, add finely diced mushroom/onion/carrot) and freeze them, then only pull out what I want to use for the next day…

This, all of it! I love the "roll your own" version of Paleo I use. It's a baseline for me to help me aim for a more wholesome nutrition plan. I, too, haven't been able to cut out cheese (and I still will use dairy in my coffee, but have been moving slowly to almond milk), and most of the time I avoid legumes, potatoes,…

YES. THIS POST. The intimidation is real. That said, I used to be intimidated by the gym, period. Were you ever self-conscious at the gym when you first started? What did you do to get comfortable? I bet you just DID THE THING until it was something that was no longer weird or scary, right? You got this. Indeed, fake it…

I so want to do this.....but damnit if I didn't discover this thread while I'm on day 3 of "where the feck did my voice go?!" :#

Oklahoma here. Seeing a lot of UK/Ireland here, hi all! Makes me miss Ireland -- LOVED it there when I visited (and I was lucky enough to get very little rain!)
-
Ohhhh, I've always wanted to try these!! What do they taste like?? It's hard to find stuff like this in Oklahoma.

This. All of it. Don't try to change all the things all at once -- I've found that completely overhauling everything my body is trained to accept as normal was really detrimental to my efforts, and I was stressed out more about trying to balance all of that with my already busy life. Baby steps. You're in it for the long…

Where to start? Just start. Last time I crept around on MFP I lost about 30 lbs as well, and then just backslid and then some. I think a lot of that was because I tried to change too much, too fast. I was trying to get myself to eat at a deficit, super clean, and work out 5 days a week, when I previously did NONE of those…

* Cherry tomatoes. I just can't. I try every year or so....but, I pop one in my mouth and bite, and it's like someone sneezed snot all over my tongue. Eugghh. * Cucumbers are meh. I use them only for rounding out veggies in a salad or as a vehicle to get other food to my mouth - like chicken salad or hummus. Same goes for…

Them curves tho! I'm going to repeat what most have already said: Don't hate those beautiful asskickers. They're strong and powerful, and I'm guessing most of that is muscle. Unfortunately genetics can play a part in body shape, but they're lovely as they are. Love 'em up good! You're already on the right track.

I'm Kristen, a mom of one super-busy toddler and a recent back-to-school student for computer programming. This most recent stint on MFP has been about a year, and I'm down nearly 45 pounds. I love cooking experiments, backyard fire pits, and beer and whiskey -- and I'm invested in bettering my overall health while still…

Yaaay! I love rediscovering new-old clothes like that, and reviving outfits I haven't worn in years!

I lost about 20 lbs 3-4 years ago with the help of SparkPeople, then MFP (I moved over to here because SP seemed to put off more and more of a "MySpace" vibe). I was at around 215. Then I quit, got married, and had a baby. At 9 months I was tipping the scales at just under 300 pounds. Got back down to about 240, and gained…
