Well, I've been observing this for a couple of decades.

I need 2 tbsp's per (large) cup.

No matter the quality of the coffee, I need the sweetener.

Thanks to all. My wife is a big fan of Almond milk so it's in the fridge. I guess I'll give it a go firstly neat, and then cutting it with other things. Great advice.

When I was growing up in the UK, THIS was a ham sandwich. In America (and for all I know now in the UK, too), THIS is a ham sandwich. Not only has the size ballooned beyond belief, we used to eat EITHER a ham OR a cheese sandwich - literally, one OR the other, not both. In the US, cheese is on ALL sandwiches, a concept…

This is funny. I'm a 46 year old white guy who clubbed it a bit in the 80's and 90's but am about as out of touch with music as any one can be. It's funny, becasue when I walk, I really like Dance/Techno/Electronic stuff - actually, I'm not even sure if that's the right term for the things that I listen to! LOL!

If this is for weight loss reasons, there is absolutely no *need* to do this. Moderation, careful planning, changing a few habits and calorie management with exercise will all mean that usually not too much needs to altered.

Thanks man. I'm dreaming about beer every night, but I think the advice about trying and adjusting is good! I think if I can come in 20-40% below my calculated TDDE each day for a couple of weeks, I hope I can still lose between 2 and 4 pounds. We'll see.

Last try - how many should I eat?

Any ideas, here?

The USA aligns itself with the enlightenment practiced in North Korea, China, Iraq, Iran, Egypt and Somalia! Nice. http://theeconomist.tumblr.com/post/20060357546/daily-chart-capital-punishment-last-year-only

Englishman here, who has an American wife of 17 years (and therefore an extended American family), has lived in the USA for 12 years, and has traveled extensively in the USA over the last 25 years or so. I miss England dreadfully, and on balance would much prefer to live there, but that seems natural to me because it is my…

Although nowhere near as severe as you report, I have experienced the same thing so I think it is a potential symptom of radical changes of habits. Having said that, asking medical advice on the internet from total strangers is a very poor strategy, and given the symptoms that you report, I would be seeking some…

I think that the problem is that 'obese' in BMI terminology has a VERY different meaning to 'obese' in everyday language.

Any thoughts on this?

Indeed, but clearly you are not well versed in British drinking culture.

Hi Graham - actually there is no need to cut out beer completely, BUT you are right, that if you are like me (and it sounds like you are), then you will have to make some adjustments to your beer intake. I am a BIG beer guy and like you, just started on MFP. I wrote a little on my beer blog about this subject here -…

Well, I guess whatever the truth is, there has definitely been some kind of result so it's time to simply press on.

I would lover to get to a 32 (what I was when I was about 16 years old), but 36 might be more realistic! I'm now 45 years old with a 38/39 girth.
-
There is a little of that feeling, but not 15 lbs worth!
-
OK, but the ONLY reference I have bothered with so far is MFP - *it* set the 1760 (based upon my starting weight and a projected loss of 2 lbs per week), not me!
-
I am - or at least VERY close to 1760 every day.
-
But I am WELL under 300 (to start), AND I have been eating back most of my exercise calories, have NOT been exercising excessively and definitely not starving myself. MFP set me at 1760 which was in response to me asking to lose 2 lbs per week! I have been pretty close to 1760 every day.
