  • My Bar Method class is an hour but 15 minutes of it is more stretching. So I usually enter it as 45 minutes of calisthenics.
  • I would be down!!! That sounds like a great challenge! Keep me posted!
  • I'm 5'0 and about 106.9 right now and hoping to get down to 100. I've been doing bar method and I've seen good results with my arms and legs and and I'm starting to see it in my stomach. I think maybe building some strength in that area and making sure you're drinking a lot of water could also help.
  • Same boat.. But I'm 5' and at 108.4 right now hoping to lose the last 8 and get down to 100. I'm taking bar method right now and feeling like it's really toning and helping with body composition.
  • Wow! Great results! Thanks for posting/commenting!
  • I've been taking Bar Method for only a short time too and was excited to see this thread. I know on my studio's website they have some before and afters but haven't seen any on mfp
  • Excited to find this topic!! I've just started bar method classes - I'm headed into my third week and really loving it! I've been going 3x a week and running one day a week. Everyone at the studio seems really friendly and stays to keep with it. I took a few measurements but even only with 3 weeks I can definitely see a…
  • Here. I'm trying to do the same - just lose a few lbs but mainly improve my body composition. I've just started taking bar method (3 weeks) and also have been running. I'm gearing up for a half marathon in May.
  • When I make Kale salad I often throw a 1/4 or 1/2 (2 people) of Avocado in there. I actually massage the kale and break up the avocado so it coats it more like a dressing. Squeeze in some lemon too plus all your other veggies. It's really good!
  • Hi There! I just started The Bar Method at their Oakland studio. It's a very different type of workout for me but I'm liking it a lot. Just not sure how much it burns/my heart rate or how to log it on mfp.
  • Hey All, Just bought the book this weekend and started this week. Trying to get healthy and just take better care of myself in my thirties. I'm hoping to have a baby in a few years so I'd like to not feel so tired and worn out. I have to say yesterday I noticed a big difference in how I felt after I ate. I wasn't so…
  • It's going to be hard however be kind to yourself. You might fall off track for a day or two maybe even a month but know that it's normal and that the most important thing is to get back up and keep going. My bf and me just broke up over a month and a half ago after almost 4 years together. I'm finally really getting back…
  • If you enjoy your dinners, I would recommend making an extra serving and taking that to work for lunch. It's really worked well for me. Good Luck!
  • Hoping to start this Sunday or Monday and would love some body rev pals! For those Thad did it before how did you feel after?
  • I think if you think of it as a lifestyle, cheats will happen because you're enjoying life. I usually eat non-paleo when I'm out w/ friends but I still try to make healthier choices. However part of that is knowing how your body reacts with certain foods. For example, some people react to corn or corn products other people…
  • You should check out this blog - http://www.growinguppaleo.com/ She writes about both her pregnancies and was paleo during that time. Congrats and good luck!
  • Thanks for the share! I remember hearing a lot about this especially after Black Swan came out ;) It's always great to hear about these classes from real people. If you don't mind me asking - have you dance before or done pilates before? Do you need to be in shape already for a class like this? Thanks so much!!
  • That's great!!! I'm 5' and that's my goal range too!!! Way to go!
  • Thanks! I can't wait to check it out!
  • Check out everyday paleo for lots of great recipes. I have her cookbook and it's super helpful! Good Luck!
  • What's your name? Monica Where do you live? Berkeley, CA What are your food vices/ cheats? Wine! Chocolate! What do you think is holding you back from being in your TOP shape? Excuses, eating out A LOT, and not incorporating work outs into my schedule. I'm actually focusing on eating Palelo/Primal right now and once I'm…
  • Just started Paleo/Primal last week and looking to add friends as well. I've put on some extra weight over the last year and hoping to get healthy! I'm in my early thirties and would like to develop some healthy eating habits and get back into running.
  • Thanks everyone!!! I definitely will be picking up some avocados and sweet potatoes to get some extra fat and healthy carbs. But aside from feeling a little sluggish my body does feel a lot better especially after meals. I'm just gonna take it easy on the working out until my body gets a little more adjusted.
  • Hey all! Just started Paleo/primal a week ago and would love to add some buddies! I'm 31 living in California and hoping to get healthy this year. Wishing you the best!
  • I'm starting tonight! I've really fallen off in terms of healthy eating and working out. I'm hoping to drop some of the holiday weight I've added. Everything is way too tight.
  • What's your name? Monica Where do you live? Berkeley, CA What are your food vices/ cheats? Wine & Beer....pretty much Happy Hour ;) What do you think is holding you back from being in your TOP shape? I think I've been making good progress but commitment to a steady work out routine is needed. I just ran my first half…
  • Hey All, Thanks for all the great advice. I had my first half this past Saturday and it was great. Miles 10 & 11 were a real challenge but once I saw the flagpost for 12 I got a little surge and made it home!! I finished in 2:04:52 and am super stoked!!! Good Luck everyone!
  • Hey Ellemonster, My longest run was last weekend at 11.1 so hopefully we'll both be ready :) Please keep me posted on your half! Best of Luck. Good Luck to you, JaneyLoses!!! Keep us posted on your half results as well! xoxo
