Take a look at the Whole30 - it is a program that trains your body to leverage good fats and protien as your main source of energy... It's a program, but the book really helps explain nutrition in a good way....for me, I used to eat a banana prior to working out (e.g., for some quick carbs and sugar to help me through…

I would try to focus on inches - what's interesting is my weight has change from 175 - 190 (after being 240 3 years ago, but I have sustained a 34 inch waist - that said, weight will fluctuate, but i try to concentrate on inches and body fat %

Great post! Totally agree on the cardio point - lost all the weight running and doing insanity - got all the definition from weight training - 5x5 for the win!

I just finished the 100 day burpee challenge; Day 1, 1, day 2, 2, day 3......day 100, 100 - if you miss a day, you must make them up - and they do not all have to be done in order). Interstingly, once you get into them - you establish a really nice rythym - the clap above the jump helps with this. This challenge was more…

I am currently on day 94 of the 100 day burpee challenge!!! I am so ready to be done, but I will say my upper body has boomed and i have lost ~1% body fat in in 94 days - that is from 11% to 10% - that said, I have been working out other than just burpees, but they give a lot of strength and power. As time goes, you become…

I usually have a carb/protein shake at night and almost always work out early - good for the boddy to recover at night and gives some go for the early morning routines. The real key is cut the cals when losing - and eat good food for your body. In general "CARBS" are associated with lots of bad foods - e.g., the boxed…

I also use PB2 (NOTE: i gave up anything PB for lent!) - if you do PB, go PB2 or Natural PB - !!!

Yes - that bicep is hot - as far as biceps go. Is that wrong?

Thanks brother! We've been hanging for a year - ever since insanity!!

The biggest accomplishment is how I feel -this isn't "work" anymore, but part of a good life. Mind and body!

Congrats!!

Planks are a great ab workout.

So i added 2OZ of Spinnach and Broccoli nets out to about ~50 Calories....or 350-400 in a week. I normally brun around 500 calories per day working out - and don't eat those back. Probably not worth counting IMO.
-
Yeah - NO snacking for me at all - this is the only give, and i am almost always well under my cal goal (low carb, high protein, etc.) - and work out religiously...but good points. I'll start counting them in!

Moderation is so true. 1 per week vs. 2-3 per day is a huge difference!

I gave up diet coke. This was a only staple for years...2-3 per day. Now I drink water 95% of the time. No coffee no soda no juice. Occasionally I'll have some iced tea, but water is really the best. I kicked coffee doing insanity because I was so wired after the workouts the need just wasn't there. I vote no soda. It's…

Just go to google and type in INSANITY WORKOUT - you'll find everything you've every wanted to know!

After being completely out of shape, then doing 1 month of insanity, then running while doing month 2 (5 days to go to finish), I ran my fist 5k in 10 years - time was 29:30 - much of which I attribute to insanity training. Also, it was raining wil lots of hills. My personal goal is is 9 min miles....which I've done in…
-
Awesome!
-
Month 2 is really tough - but just like month 1, you'll get the hang of it - you'll be amazed how far you can go! Good luck - I have 6 more workouts before graduation!!

How does this compare to insanity? Anyone done both? Sounds like a nice change up to insanity
