It's the same in California. That's one of the reasons that my go-to Starbucks drink is a grande skinny cinnamon dolce with soy milk (the other reason - it's quite tasty). Approx. 170 calories, though if you use skim milk instead, I think it's around 120 calories (I just prefer the taste of soy milk). As long as the syrup…

This, with soy milk. So good!

I use Wearever pans (http://www.wearever.com/WearEver/Cookware/cookandstrainnonstick/Pages/CookStrainNonstick.aspx) that were given to me for Christmas a few years ago. What seems to work for me is to heat the pan on medium for about five minutes before putting the eggs in. I use Trader Joe's Cage-Free Egg Whites and they…

Bumping! Thanks!

Bumping for later. Sounds yummy!

Chiming in on using a C25K app to help with running. I'm using the Zombies, Run! 5k app (https://www.zombiesrungame.com/), which is great. It's got a story line - which keeps me motivated - and the training sessions (or missions) are very doable for someone who is not a natural runner and who has a few physical issues.…

I don't have BED, but I can see how it would be easy to binge on cookies, potato chips, ice cream, etc., all of which are vegetarian. Trust me, it makes a lot of sense. Good for you, OP, for seeking help in your recovery. It sounds like you're making good strides. I wish you all the best!

And I thought I was being a pig for eating a whole Mini-Cooper. At least it was non-fat.

That's how I read the OP's post, lsmsrbls. Frankly, if the OP feels your original comment was "bullying,' she's quite the delicate little flower. Sorry, OP, disagreeing with you is not bullying. Pointing out how you might be able to buoy your husband's spirits while he goes through a change that is worrying him is not…

I'm in the process of doing the Zombies, Run 5k training app (it's available for both Android and iPhone - I'm about to finish up Week 3 today). It's the same thing as a couch to 5K, but it has a story line that slowly progresses each week. I love it. I can easily lose my motivation, but the story on the app makes me want…

Yoga and Pilates are great for both stretching and flexibility. You might be a bit frustrated at first because you can't get into those poses, but if you keep at it, your body will be able to do things you didn't think possible.

I just remembered another one that needs to go on my workout mix: Blood Makes Noise by Suzanne Vega (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCbguNobCtk)

First step for PF is to see a podiatrist. He/she will probably tell you to do everything you're already doing, but it's good to have it looked at by a professional. Your podiatrist can recommend shoe inserts to help with your everyday movement. Mine recommended Superfeet…

Do you have somewhere you can swim or do aquatic exercise? I highly recommend it when your plantar fasciitis is being a problem (I have PF and nerve issues in my left foot). Much easier on your foot and, in my honest, respectful opinion, so much better than for you than shakes. I wish you much luck with your PF. I know how…

I love this song! Thanks for reminding me of it. It now must go on my "Music to Kick A** By" playlist.

I haven't been able to go through all nine pages yet, but if you're a runner and a Doctor Who fan, I highly recommend, "I Am the Doctor," (here performed by the Doctor Who Fan Orchestra: http://youtu.be/xj1YhlEmXkw). Any Doctor Who fan knows that running is a huge part of the series and this is the perfect song to run to.…

I hope you've seen the movie, because It. Is. Hilarious. If you haven't seen it, Neflix, rent, steal it. Watch it tonight. (Sorry, a bit of a Clue fan here.)

What? No Christopher Lee love? He reeled me in when I was five years old. I've been a vampire (and Christopher Lee) fan ever since. Also a big fan of Gary Oldman's Dracula and I love me some Buffy, Nosferatu, Shadow of the Vampire and Let the Right One In.

Not necessarily. I'm 47, 5'5", 244 lbs (and have no desire to get less than 200 lbs - and if I don't, that's okay). My heart, blood work and BP are amazingly good. They always have been. I do have some joint issues, but they are not serious at all and, quite frankly, due to a tendency of injuring myself via marathon…

I like Christopher Eccleston! True, David Tennant is My Doctor because he's my first, but once I saw Eccleston, I was totally on board. BTW, did you know that Eccleston is going to be the villain in the Thor sequel (http://herocomplex.latimes.com/movies/thor-the-dark-world-christopher-eccleston-is-villain-malekith/#/0)? I…

I think the progression of the reboot Doctors has been perfect. Eccleston's Doctor really was someone who survived the Time War and had serious PTSD. Tennant's Doctor was the result of someone who had been grounded by his companions - notice how dark he often became when he didn't have a regular companion. He needed that…

Another Whovian here. Started with the reboot during the Tennant years, so, naturally, he is My Doctor. But I also love Eccleston and Smith - very different takes on an intriguing character. I'll be going through the older series via Netflix soon, so I'll get a chance to see all the originals. Favorite companion is Donna,…

When you get an HRM, I highly recommend one with a chest strap. In my experience, the wrist only ones aren't as accurate as those with chest strap. I have a Polar FT7, which I absolutely love, but if you want a more basic (and less expensive) one, the Polar FT4 is also excellent. (I just really like Polar. I also have a…

Best grilled cheese sandwich - sharp cheddar, tomatoes and grilled onions on rye bread (though sourdough is also excellent). Served with tomato soup on the side for dippin'. You are right, whierd. Your friend is wrong.

This. My boyfriend is 9 years younger. I'm 47 and he's 38. In some ways he's a bit immature, but in other ways he's way more mature than I am (more financially stable, achieved exactly what he wanted out of life by the time he was in his early 30s and is happy with this). We have lots of fun together and enjoy each other's…
