Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I can hardly believe it, but this is my 28th day smoke free. I do miss it, But I take some deep breaths, and remember how much I wanted to quit. I ran yesterday, and it was really good.

Those sound really good! I especially love the coconut and chia seeds

just a word of friendly advice... don't start another thread about how mean people are or how we are not supportive. Those never end well. No worries.. I'm not like that...

I am totally overwhelmed and hurt. I was not expecting so many responses and I was definitely expecting more thoughtful, serious ones that indicate the writer read the entire original post. I'm totally fine if a lot of people advise me to count calories but I would appreciate it without the rudeness and assumptions. To…

In the past I measured food and calories. It is not something I can sustain for every meal for the rest of my life. So no, I do not currently count calories. However I do eat reasonable portions and periodically I will go back and count for a week at a time to make sure my portions are OK.

I have tried the resistance bands and negative pull but to no avail...I still can't. Negative pull up hurt because I just fall uncontrolled.

Thanks Lauren! It doesn't hurt anymore and was definitely good sore pain.

Thanks! I just realized there is a similar post a few pages before.

My push ups are getting better!

Walnut milk! Excellent in smoothies, baking, or other recipes. To make walnut milk, soak the nuts overnight in water, then blend and strain in the morning. It's an excellent way to make recipes creamy without dairy calories.

I'm a big fan of the series and just finished it last night. I got to the portion of Harry's dream and almost quit reading b/c I thought Butcher caved and played to the audience. But I'm glad I finished it. I like how Harry struggles through the difficulty of the mantle and became his old self again.

I celebrated my one year running anniversary with a 10K. And to quote a classic... Diamonds are a girl's best friend.
-
I ran 10 miles yesterday! I started out one year ago on the Couch to 5K plan. And I never thought that was possible for me to do one mile.
-
Thanks! I didn't realize it was only a mile more. I'll look into the training programs.

I did this during my first 5k. I tried to catch up to the stroller pushers that were walking and jogging faster than me to assuage the embarrassment.... I passed some of them.....

I've been running since April (Thanks to C25K). I just finished my second 5k and I run 9 miles a week regularly....that's still so weird to say. I'm currently reading "Zen and the Art of Running" and I recommend it. At first my running was pretty dependent of the music and having fresh scenery, but it is slowly changing to…

I started C25K in April and took three months to get semi-ready for my first 5k. My first time was 47 minutes and I did another one last weekend at 44 minutes. I almost quit running after the first one because I didn't have any goals set for afterward. This time I recovered quickly and I've already started the…

Thanks the recommendations and the links! I ordered a Moving Comfort bra and have high hopes!

Regarding the grey area...Money is tight for me so I have been finishing up or freezing anything I can until after lent (except the brownies I snuck out of the freezer this afternoon). I'm not super strict on the fast and don't look at labels...this is my second year of fasting. Last year I did meat, cheese, and milk, but…

I made a great Artichoke, pasta, parm, and mozz mix and brownies!

"Women Who Run With The Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés It a book on Jungian archetypes of women. I'm about halfway through and it's good. I'm not wowed like the Amazon reviewers were...but it's good.

Thanks! I love avocados! I'm been avoiding olive oil because I assumed it was the best of all the unhealthy oils. I won't hesitate to use it now (in moderation of course). Are almonds lower in calories than peanuts? I've also been struggling with being hungry because the food I have been choosing are a little too high in…

My jaw dropped. Amazing and total inspiration for me! :flowerforyou: Thanks!
