I am looking for some new workout music so I want to know what everyone's most inspirational, "get you moving and can't stop moving" music is on your mp3/iPod. Think outside the box. Go old school. We all know Rihanna rocks but I would love to find something I haven't heard before. Here is my list:

Feels Just Like It Should by Jamiroquai (my very fave)
In My Heart by Moby (my second fave)
I'm Raving by LA Style
A Little Less Conversation (JXL Radio Edit) by Elvis
Make Your Move by Dave Armstrong
C'mon N' Ride It (The Train) by Quad City DJs (guilty pleasure)
Good Vibrations by Marky Mark (guilty pleasure #2)
Can You Feel It by Michael Jackson
Gold Digger by Kayne West
Nobody's Supposed to Be Here (Dance Mix) by Deborah Cox
Murder on the Dance Floor by Sophie Ellis Bextor
Dynamite by Taio Cruz

    - Can't Get You Outta My Head -- Kylie Minogue
    - The Choice is Yours -- Black Sheep
    - Sure Shot -- Beastie Boys
    - Man Eater -- Nelly Furtado
    - The Distance -- Cake

I have a pretty eclectic taste in music

The ladies have been gettin' me through my inclining treadmill walks lately. The versions/mixes I have are pretty fast paced so I can walk to the beat...

Pink...the song title escapes me at the moment. It's a hard driving, heavy on the beat song.
    Annie Lennox...Little Bird DJ mix
    Lady Gaga...Bad Romance

Oh, and I have no idea why...but Erasure songs get my speed up, too. Weird, I know!
  • Dubstep and Mashups are my favorite kind of music to jam out to when I'm doing cardio. My current must have inspiring songs:

The Climb by Miley Cyrus (its slow so I use it for my stretching/warm up)
    And for cardio....
What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger by Kelly Clarkson
Stronger (Nic Nells Bootleg remix) of Kanye ~can be found on The Hype Machine((from here on out referred to as THM)
Rudeboy -by Skrillex ft Damian Marley (on THM)
Massaker of the Most abSRD Proportions -by DJ abSRD and DJ Massakerr (on THM)
Sleazy Remix 2.0 - Get Sleazier (on THM)
Raging Levels (Avicii//Kanye//britney//Others)- by Mochi Beats (on THM)

For strength training I like David Guettas acoustic version of "Titanium" and most Eminem songs

    1. Tailspin - Theme Song
This song always gets me pumped instantly. I remember when I could only run as long as the end of the first chorus. Now it's not even a worry about making it through the whole song + 10 other songs.

    2. Where's the Love - Hanson
I think this is a good follow up song because it has a good beat (not as fast as #1 but still awesome) and I like the lyrics - Where's the love for myself? I gotta love myself and run and get thin

    3. If I Had You - Adam Lambert
If I had you - talking to my skinny future self, money fame and fortune never could compete

    4. What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) - Kelly Clarkson
Running is not going to kill me, it's going to make me stronger and I can SO do this!

    5. Turn Me On - David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj
Good beat and makes me feel sassy

    6. Reach - S Club 7
Love these lyrics! So motivating. The chorus is:
Reach for the stars. Climb every mountain higher, reach for the stars. Follow your hearts desire, reach for the stars. And when that rainbow's shining over you tat's when your dreams will all come true.

    7. Part of Me - Katy Perry
No matter what no one can take away my determination and motivation to do this, no matter what anyone says. I trick myself into thinking that I am so motivated nothing can stop me even if I feel weak during my run and want to give up.

    8. Love You Like a Love Song - Selena Gomez
No reason other than I like the song and the beat!

    9. The Edge of Glory - Lady GaGa
I am on the edge of glory and I can almost see the finish line I can do this! I am more than halfway done.

    10. Can't Stop - Hanson
The legs hurt, the body is tired, but i CAN'T STOP!!!

    11. Firework - Katy Perry
I feel like a plastic bag but I know I can ignite my light and let it shine and own this run like the fourth of july because I am a firework and I can show everyone what I am worth and they will go OH OH OH with my new skinnyness :)

    12. Ghost of Me - Daughtry
The ghost of me that was my fat former non-running self. I am running away from HER.

    13. Country Girl (Shake It For Me) - Luke Bryan
I am shaking it for Luke Bryan across the finish line!

    14. All Shook Up - Elvis Presley
I am all shook up running in the 5k! Take a small break here. The song is 2 minutes so if I need a break it's good so I can push faster across the finish line.

    15. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
I am having a good time running and completing my goal. SO CLOSE (if I'm not there yet) I am traveling at the speed of light and NO ONE CAN STOP ME NOW!!!

    16. Born This Way - Lady GaGa
This is one of the best songs. I am born a superstar. I was born to be brave. I've had disabilities in life and no matter what has stopped me before I am on the right track baby I was born to survive.

Added suggestions (my total list is 50 songs): Honorable Mentions:
    1. Rolling in the Deep - Adele
    2. Set Fire - Adele
    3. Gettin' Jiggy Wit It - Will Smith
    4. The Power - Snap!
    5. Rhythm is a Dancer - Snap!
    6. Tubthumping - Chumbawamba
    7. Be My Lover - La Bouche
    8. Burn It to the Ground - Nickelback
    9. This is Your Night - Amber
    10. C'Mon Ride the Train - Quad City DJ's

bump so I can get some ideas. I need some new workout music
  • I'm for anything that will make me move! Honestly, I found that heavy metal or punk works best for because I just wanna punch something! So I use that for my harder days and dance music for the easier days.

Wow! here are a lot of good ones I hadn't thought of here...just downloaded 5 of them and have 5 more in the queue!

Something other's I have...I go more for fast paced songs...and ones that I tend to know the words to. I gauge my intensity by the whole...can you sing/can you talk/are you panting...

All Summer Long....Kid Rock...summer's coming motivation
    And We Danced...Hooters
Bohemian Rhapsody...Queen (has a little break in it)
Cruel Summer...Bananarama...another summers on it's way motivator
    I Gotta A Feeling...Blacked Eyed Peas
    I'm Still Standing...Elton John
I'm too Sexy...Right Said Fred (I think)...this one is motivating
    My Sharona...the Knack...I love 80's tunes
Push It ...Salt N Pepper...more motivation...look for this one when I'm feeling weary
    Safety Dance...Men Without Hats...just a great 80's fast beat
Single Ladies...Beyonce...great beat and puts a smile on my face cuz it reminds me of my wedding-moon to Key West
Stand Up...Steel Dragon...just a hard one to drive it home
    Tarzan Boy...Baltimora...just a fun crazy 80's song...
    What I like about you...The Romatics...good fun beat/pace
We All Die Young...Steel Dragon...this is my cool-down...always....love it!

I have a lot of things on my mp3 cuz it really depends on my mood and the pace I want...the morning after Body Attack I need something on the lighter side. But, on days I have to go in the evening after a morning class the day before I like to go with something hard and heavy to push me mixed in with some fast-paced, dance music to keep it quick and light-on-the-feet.

I like to exercise with any music that's got a driving, constant beat, regardless of who the artist is or when it was released ... if it can pound a rhythm into my head and make me forget I'm exercising, I want it on my ipod! Currently I've been listening to a lot of top 40 like Lady Gaga, LMFAO, and Nicki Minaj, and also Moby and Chemical Bros. (I think most of the songs I listen to have already been mentioned!) I get bored with the songs really fast, and then I start mentally whining about how I'm tired and I hate exercising, so I am glad to see this conversation topic ... maybe I'll get some new ideas for workout music. :)
