Hello. I’m 3 years after RNY. Using mfp to keep track of my protein mostly but also to help be mindful of everything I’m eating. Would also love some more bariatric minded mfp friends

Hi all, i'm scheduled for roux en y on 12/11/2019 (less than two weeks). I'm on a two week preop diet of two shakes a day and a "grocery meal"

All great responses. Thanks. I’ll give some of these tips s a try the next time we order pizza pie.

https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/23299-weight-loss-surgery-wls This is a group I recently found. Doesn't look to be very active though. We could change that? I'm starting six months of Dr supervised diet before RNY. I don't have the surgery scheduled yet

41 here, in Chicagoland, Starting over, yet again. Trying to stay active on my open tracker, looking for similar active open trackers. Feel free to add.

I find I do much better when I try and stick to a routine. When I have to make decisions, I usually fail so I try and take decision making out of the picture. I try to eat the same few things for breakfast and lunch most of the time.

I've just been walking. 10k to 14k steps a day. This is pretty much what I was doing before though. So the nurses in my program keep telling me I need to amp it up a bit. i'm losing consistently though and don't want to stall the losing. I've been doing "intervals" with my walking a bit to mix it up. Such as when walking…

You can do this! Keep on Keepin on!

I've been making biscuits with the chicken and the cheddar broccoli soup. They are actually pretty okay. And it's nice to be able to eat something with a knife and fork.
-
This is good to know! Thanks

I'm doing pretty good. Still playing around with the flavors trying to find my favorites. I wish they had an option or two that were very minimally flavored. Everything I have tried is very intensely flavored. Doesn't leave a ton of options for adding my own spices and flavors.

Good info pals! Thanks for sharing.

Had the chocolate pudding as a shake this morning. It was MUCH better than both the chocolate and chocolate with fiber IMO. I did it with 16oz of water (I bought the bigger blender bottle, I only had the small one). It's also MUCH more filling. I feel like I ate a big hearty breakfast!

I would think there would be SOMETHING out there. After many many years of going through various programs, they all seemed to have a social element. I would think that Robard would have some forums for users.

I got lemon pudding with fiber, chocolate with fiber, Pineapple and Apricot and a variety pack. So far I REALLY enjoy the lemon pudding (made as a thick shake, thanks YellowDaisy!) and the Pineapple Apricot.

I agree. Very disappointed. If i had my choice of milkshakes, I always go for strawberry. I guess that is all part of "resetting my connection with food".
-
Good stuff. I'll try a couple of different ones on Monday. Thanks! Do you need a blender for the puddings or can you make them in a standard shaker bottle?
-
Hmm, I wonder why she sold them to me if we weren't supposed to have them. I'll see what she says.

I'm verifying with the dietitian about the food and bars. She told me they really want to start relearning healthy snacking habits early in the program. Up to 2 cups of non starchy vegetables. I have two choices for the program 4 shakes or 3 shakes + 1 bar. I'll verify this as well.

Wow! I thought I was doing good with 96oz (2.8 liters) Time to up my water game!
-
Amazing! Fantastic work!

That stinks for us. Oh well, it is what it is I guess. Luckily I can use my FSA to pay for everything, so that helps a bit.
-
I'm not sure if this is allowed or not, but I thought I would experiment.* 1 Packet Mocha Shake * 7 oz cold water * 2 oz iced coffee (no cream or suger, just black)
-
I'm on Day 2. The only rules I have on VLCD so far are: * 3 shakes + 1 bar + 2 cups non starchy veg OR 4 shakes + 2 cups non starchy veg (I THINK this is how it works. I need to verify with my dietitian.) * AT LEAST 64oz water * Class/Weighin once a week * Doctor visit with labs once a month

I'm just getting started with New Directions. Day one! Feel free to add me as a friend.

I'm just starting with New Direction. Just had my second meal. Strawberry shake (not a big fan of it on the first go).
