  • It depends on your foot and your running form. I have narrow feet and high arches and asics usually work best for me. Good luck on your shoe hunt!
  • Try getting pictures of yourself every time you are out with friends, swimming, anything... The more you see the new you, the faster it will sink in. Pictures always help me, while the mirror usually trashes my image. Good luck and super congrats on the loss!
  • I burn 2000 - 3000 calories in an average day (6 - 8 hours) of hiking, so that seems reasonable for 4.5 hours.
  • Soft tacos! Use the lawry's taco spice packet - I use 1 1/2 packets per lb of meat instead of the recommended 1 Microwave corn tortillas wrapped in a paper towel - don't even THINK of frying them! Shredded lettuce Diced tomatoes A little shredded cheese hot sauce if desired I can usually eat 2 or 3 and stay in my cal range…
  • Potatos with the skin - and without all the toppings  - oranges, things like that will help.

  • The only thing I get anywhere near is the chocolate cake - but I split it with 5 of my girlfriends!
  • I definitely breakout if I have too much dairy. One of my sisters and a friend of mine also have that problem. I can have dairy in small amounts a few time a week, but if I have it every day I breakout like crazy. My sister can rarely have any, but she is 17 while I am 27 so hormones could make her response worse. It's…

  • I never did try it, but my mother in law did. She said it hurt the first few days, then the migraines would go away for a few weeks, and the last few weeks until she could get more injections the pain was just as awful as before. However, sometimes it didn't work at all, and she could only have it done every 3 months.…
  • You are very right. Coffee does not count.

  • Yeah! Banks is back! Banks is back!:drinker: Congrats on all the great things you've achieved!
  • Dear Cell Phone Company, I would really appreciate it if I could receive my phone calls, and you didn't send them straight to voicemail when I almost always have 4 bars. I would also prefer to get my voice messages when they are left for me, not 2 days later, or worse - NEVER! It makes me look bad. This doesn't happen…
  • With the amount of exercise you are doing you really ought to be eating more. That much cardio means at least 60% of your calories should come from carbs. Try aiming for 60% carbs, 20% protein and 20% fats. Try raw almonds and other nuts. They are a good source of all three and should help you increase your overall…
  • If you don't make it a habit - one day every so often will not put you in starvation mode. It may even shock your system into better weight loss. Congrats on burning so many extra cals.:drinker:
  • WALK! Go on long walks. I get really bad migraines, taking a walk in a relaxing area before the pain gets really bad helps. Sometimes that is enough to stop the process. Walks also help lessen the severity of symptoms that come with that time of month. Also, don't quit caffeine cold turkey. Go slowly with it. There are so…
  • It is safe to lose 1-2lbs per week. If you aim for 2 a week that is just over 30 lbs in 4 months. BUT - it is difficult to do that safely. Eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise regularly and you may be able to maintain a loss of 2 lbs a week. Good luck!
  • I agree with Coleen that you should eat more and mix up your workout. I don't think you are overdoing it, though. Try adding some type of weight training. The more lean muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn just to maintain. Also, in the last 20-30 lbs of weight loss it is much more difficult to get the…
  • Try to make sure the foods you do eat contain a lot of protien and are nutrient dense. Things like raw almonds, fruits, etc are good. Also, if you just want to get more healthy calories without feeling full, drink a glass or two of 100% fruit juice. This will help with the nutrition, give you sugar calories that your brain…
  • Yea! Congrats! Hope you have a wonderful life together.
  • Anything can turn to fat if you have too much in one sitting. What you are probably thinking of is refined sugars. Things like candy, white bread and pasta, etc. will flood your system with sugar and what your body cannot quickly process as energy will be stored as fat. Sugar from fruit is processed more slowly, so more of…

  • I think they use the basic formula for carb, protien and fat ratio. If you exercise alot you can safely go up a lot higher than that for lean protien.
  • I am not a dietician, but from all I have read - If it truly is sugar from fruit you should be okay. You may want to check how much comes from things like cereal, white bread and white pasta, etc. If there are alot of carbs from those sources you may want to cut back, or switch to whole grain types. Hope that helps!

  • Packaged will probably have fewer calories - homemade tends to ignore the correct serving size. However, I agree with Fitness Chick that the preservatives, corn syrup, etc that are in the packaged treats are much worse for you. I always go with homemade in small servings.
  • That's hilarious! You just made me laugh, and I passed it on to my husband, sister, brother, and best friend - and they all laughed pretty hard. Thanks!
  • Good job you! What an amazing improvement.
  • It could be that your dog is jealous that the foster got to go with you. My female always tries to fight my male if he goes somewhere and she doesn't. Good luck with the dogs!

  • I am a distance runner, and I stay away from food immediately before and during my runs. It makes me feel like puking, and give me cramps. The best drink I found is cytomax. It is a powder that you mix with water. I like it because it has sodium, which some drinks don't, and it isn't super sweet (again to avoid the pukey…
  • If you want videos, self.com has videos of their workouts. Often they don't need any type of equipment. I use them whenever I am not near a gym.
  • Your ideas all sound fun. Not sure how cold it is where you are, but you could also play miniature golf or bumper cars. Anything that gets you laughing will make a memorable evening. Enjoy yourself and don't worry about your son. He'll be fine for one evening. Have a wonderful date night!:flowerforyou:
  • I have found that if I don't work out for a while, then start doing a ton of it, I don't lose weight for a month or two, then start dropping again. Songbird wrote a reply last night about gaining muscle weight, and part of it is that working your muscles increases your muscles storage capability. If you are lifting or…
  • I think it depends on your goals. You don't have much to lose. So if your goal is just eating healthier, don't worry about tracking fruits and vegetables if it is too much hassle. If you want to lose those last few pounds then go ahead and track everything you eat.
