  • There is a link between good gut bacteria and depression. http://happyzine.co.nz/2012/10/31/top-10-happy-foods-number-4-kefir/ How does Kefir elevate our mood? For this article I’m going to focus on how Kefir improves our overall health by enhancing our intestinal health, therefore strengthening our immune system and…
  • I remember researching serotonin blood barrier a couple years ago and I remember there was a link to melatonin so I googled that. The paragraph titled the tryptophan pathway on page 323 discusses this and continues on page 324. Its just a short excerpt from the book.…
  • Ask yourself what you would think if you saw someone else exactly your size on a bike. You would probably think way to go! Then ask yourself if that same person came to you and said someone heckled me on my ride, should I quit riding even though I love it and its good for me. You would probably say hell no! Go ride and…
  • Yes. Apple in the mix is nice too. I always referred to that dirt taste as earthy, lol, but yes completly gone. Also, vitamin C completely blocks the possible conversion to nitrosamines. I am including this link as a quick google search of nitric oxide (even though the link is geared to men) it still overviews the…
  • @ rhtexasgal That monk sugar looks interesting. Thanks. I am looking at pure monk online.
  • 1/2 raw beet, peeled seeded lemon, piece of ginger topped with orange juice in the blender. The nitrates in the raw beets turns to nitric oxide when mixed with good bacteria in the saliva. I used to put a scoop of protein powder but from what I understand protein blocks the ability to to change to nitric oxide and leaves…
  • http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10114688/interesting-video-on-mechanics-of-squatting#latest I found this video very interesting and would address body mechanics. I had also read if you don't hit parallel or below you will develop an imbalance in muscles.
  • Unless I ate an extra 3500 calories, its not a pound of fat that came back when the scale goes up. Sodium and exercise both cause the scale weight to go up and thats not a bad thing. Fat is essential to good health, not the enemy. Avacado calories are so worth it. Drink your water, its important.
  • I dont like fishy fish so I buy tilapia. I put it in a pan with lemon juice onion and sprinkle with mrs dash. Cover with fresh spinach. Put on a lid. Turn on the heat. Takes about 20 minutes. I buy it frozen individually wrapped from costco.
  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlZrlm9tsrw I added that link specifically for people suffering with crohns. I love that this post was started. I think a lot of inflammatory issues can be cured through healthy lifestyle. There probably isn't one cure all, I think its finding out your personal triggers. Everyone is…
  • Anyone who's poop isn't shaped like poop or doesn't go at least once a day could benefit from probiotics. It balances the gut bacteria when bad bacteria has become more prominent then the good. For many its after antibiotics that kills all bacteria and it doesn't come back with proper balance. Its important to have a…
  • Wow! great video! It would be amazing to be able to move like that. I feel like gravity has different rules for me vs that guy. lol
  • I find this thread interesting because 135lb was my enough is enough squat weight. It was "I am no longer enjoying my workout" weight. Bench press 102.5, overhead press 82.5, deadlift 165, rows 105. I feel like I could have gone heavier on the deadlift but I lift alone and the idea of injury absolutely held me back.…
  • I started with new rules of lifting for women, then did stronglifts. I liked the simplicity of stronglifts 5x5 over new rules plus there was a couple moves in new rules that I was unable to complete without reinjuring an old injury. Now I am on my second round of body beast. I am seeing the most change with body beast in…
  • so impressive. thanks for sharing
  • Has anyone been having issue with the mobile app going to a grey screen when saving workout instead of saving? I am on week 7. Issue started the end of week 6.
  • what a great explanation! thanks!
  • You should ask yourself what advise you would give to someone you really care about in the same situation as yourself. I find we know what we should say when we are sticking up for someone else but we never seem to apply it to ourselves. Hold your head high and enjoy your workout. People that are so caught up in other…
  • Well done! (My mom used to make cinnamon toast too. :) )
  • Sorry to hear your news. Certainly can understand about being sad but your attitude is amazing. You're already thinking about how you are going to adjust rather than giving up. Inspiring.
  • Don't take it personally. They may have had a staff meeting and perhaps everyone is in a bad mood. Maybe somebody quit that everyone liked. The possibilities are endless. If you don't know why they are in a mood then it probably has nothing to do with you. (which is of course a good thing) Don't let anything interfere with…
  • Is it possible the shoulder and elbow soreness could be attributed to snow shoveling. I am having a hard time with my left elbow in what sounds like pretty much the same way. We have had so much snow this year, its been frequent and heavy. Its taking its toll. Also for myself, certain foods create joint inflamation. I…
  • Yes. Its awful. I turn into a block of ice that can only be remedied with a hot shower or bath.

  • If you snap it you are looking at a long painful recovery and you may never get a full tip top recovery. You've got some time before the race. Try to heal and reassess.
