  • I'm on Day 30 of a Whole 30, and my lunch was Nom Nom Paleo's Italian sausage and kale casserole. It's so good!
  • When I breastfed both of my babies, I tracked my calories and tried to be right at around 2,000. This gave me enough calories to keep my supply up and also lost my baby weight. Just try to get a good amount of protein and don't cut back on carbs too much.
  • I got one this past summer. I didn't use it much at first but I've been trying to intentionally plan more recipes that use it. I love it for last minute meals using frozen chicken (I cook and shred and add BBQ sauce). I made some great soups and stews in it, and several rice-based dishes that turned out really yummy. Oh!…
  • Ritz crackers dipped in salsa, french fries in Frosties/milkshakes, pizza and ranch dressing, french fries in tartar sauce, pickles and cheese, white rice with butter and sugar. Not sure that any of mine are super "weird". haha
  • Larabars, fruit, cooler/ice pack for things like deli meat or hardboiled eggs.
  • I don't have much to say about the oil issue, but I did want to mention what I did while breastfeeding and trying to lose weight. I just set my MFP goal as "maintenance" which gave me close to 2,000 calories a day, which was what I needed to take in (per my doc) to keep my milk supply up. I also knew that nursing and…
  • I'm a wife and mother of two little ones, so I rarely have to cook for just myself. Sometimes I won't have any leftovers for lunch, so I'll either just make a protein shake or something simple. Egg-based items ("toad in the hole", scrambled eggs and cheese in wrap, eggs with salsa and avocado, etc.), a wrap with meat and…
  • It's the same as anywhere else you might eat... you'll keep your calories lower by leaning more towards whole foods and lean protein. Think grilled meats, veggies, and fruit. If I have to eat fast food, I try to stick with grilled chicken salads with only a little of the dressing, wraps, baked potatoes, simple small…
  • If you have an Aldi near you, try their brand. I think they taste just like the real think and are significantly cheaper!
  • I don't want to eat them all by themselves (my husband and toddlers will), but I love them on/in/with other things. I think they help make things creamy and rich. I can eat a salad without dressing if there are avocados on top. They're so great with any kind of Mexican food. And eggs! yum.... Avocados were both of my…
  • I have been making smoothies for a few weeks now and they have helped cut out the drive thru trips on work mornings or during lunch time when I'm out with the kiddos. I usually do chocolate protein powder, ice, a frozen banana, chia seeds, 2% milk, and either natural peanut butter or more recently the PB2 powder. It's so…

  • I throw leftovers in a ziploc bag and store in freezer for the next time :)
  • I'm doing a Whole45, so I'm either making my own Ranch, buying Tessemae brand dressings, or just using olive oil, lemon juice, and herbs.
  • My mom sent us a free week of Blue Apron, and then we stuck with it for a couple of months. Only have it paused now since I'm doing a Whole45 until the beginning of April. We really like it. Every meal has been really good and I love trying new things. I like that I can see ahead of time what's on the meal plan and can…
  • I'm on Day 16 of a Whole45, so I try not to snack at all, and usually don't want/need to. If I DO need something, I'll eat a hardboiled egg, a banana with raw cashew butter (sometimes with cocoa nibs on top), or a Larabar.
  • I freeze leftovers in a ziploc bag, as another has said. Whenever I need more, I just break off a chunk and cut it up.
  • What I do (and this may not work for everyone) is I don't add calories burned from breastfeeding, I just have my daily calorie goal set as "maintenance level". This ends up being about 1800 calories for me personally, and I know that taking in that many calories will allow my to maintain my milk supply, but I also know…
  • A bottle of orange/pineapple juice and two hardboiled eggs
  • I am on Day 11 of my second Whole 30. During my first round I lost 10 pounds, saw my skin clear up, energy increased, I slept better, I had zero headaches or stomach aches, and my postpartum hair loss slowed down MUCH faster than it did with my first baby. The 30 days helped me to be aware of bad habits I'd fallen into, it…

  • Cherry Coke, yeasty bread, fried chicken, creamy sauces :)
  • I try to eat cheese in moderation, but I also like to use nutritional yeast to top things like eggs, veggies, salads, etc.
  • I just completed my first Whole30 last week and ate lots of nuts and fruits...and lost 10 pounds. We have to get passed the idea that fat is bad for you, as long as you are eating healthy fat in moderation. And sugar in fruit isn't really something to get worried about. Just don't go nuts. :)
  • I think the problem here is that you're a 27 year old adult asking other adults to tell you what foods exist in the world besides meat, eggs, and nuts. Surely after 27 years of hating and avoiding vegetables you've encountered other foods that have made up your diet. You'll just need to eliminate added sweeteners and eat…
  • two hardboiled eggs and a banana
  • 25g sounds crazy. I'm on Day 25 of a Whole30, and I'm only eating naturally-occurring sugar (in fruits, veggies) and I just looked over my last week or so and my sugar total went anywhere from 50g to 100g
  • two hardboiled eggs and an apple with almond butter
  • I have a two year old and a three month old and I work part time. I just try to do whatever I can ahead of time to make meals easier. The crock pot is your friend! Also, make meals where the leftovers can be transformed into something else. For example, a couple of times a month I roast a whole chicken for dinner one…
  • Yessss, breastfeeding makes you HANGRY! haha. I think it's important to eat when you're hungry, and eat enough to keep a healthy milk supply, but you have to be very mindful of WHAT you're eating, like you said. With my first daughter, I probably could have lost the weight MUCH faster if I hadn't eaten/drank so many empty…
  • An 8oz cup of Fairlife chocolate milk is my new favorite "treat"! Other than that I like greek yogurt, peanut butter and pretzel trail mix from Aldi, cheese cubes/sticks, crackers with ham and cheese zapped in the microwave for a few seconds, popcorn...
  • Yes! I LOVE Aldi! Ours is fantastic, clean, and full of really cost effective organic options. I once did price comparison with a few of our favorite meals (between Aldi, Walmart, and Bi-Lo, which was our local grocery store at the time) and Aldi was lower on EVERY single item by at least 40% and a lot of the items were…
