Thank you for sharing that. As the sister of someone who suffers from Bipolar Disorder (although, thankfully, completely harmless to herself or anyone else) and a 9-year old son who seems to also have the disorder (along with ODD and ADHD), this struck a strong cord with me and I do feel for all the mother's out there who…

That is simply amazing! You can bet I am going to get a copy of this issue! Congrats!:drinker:

LOL! Good one...they are a little bit of evil, for sure! But yes, my suggestion is to get a good HRM. I often do burpees in either my Bootcamp, Circuit Training or Tabata classes and generally doing burpees gets my HR in the mid 160's to upper 160's, depending on how long we are made to keep doing them!

My dog (a Weimaraner) is probably one of the luckiest dogs around...she goes to work with my hubby every day and he works on a golf course! She usually gets a good 5-10 km run around the golf course while my hubby checks out the conditions first thing in the morning! Then in the evening we were usually only taking her out…

Absolutely fantastic! Everyone has already said it, but the one thing that you can really see, aside from the ovious weight loss, is how truly HAPPY and glowing you are! Yours is the kind of story people need to see to stay the course and not give up. Thank you for sharing!

I recently downloaded an app on my iPhone that does a weighted rolling average of your weight, which is great when you are in maintenance and just trying to keep it steady. Ideally, you do weigh yourself every day and it uses some statistial parameters to even out the daily ups and downs of your weight and to give you a…

The weather is starting to turn and this morning was really "Fall-like", so I went to our off-season closet to grab a pair of work pants and of the 12 pairs of REALLY nice dress pants I own, only 1 fit! And even these ones were loose, but wearable...all the other ones literally looked like I had a diaper on my butt, were…

Downhill skiing and golf (walking the course and carrying/pulling bag is the ONLY way to go - hate if you play at a course and they make you take a cart). Would love to join a volleyball league for "old people", but haven't found one yet and I think Hubby would be upset because I already have my "regular" gym times!…

Only thing I can think of to tone lower half more is lots of weights for the legs and yoga or pilates maybe ? I am so wanting to try hot yoga! What is your current body fat % ? [/quote] I too have always wanted to do hot yoga, but I am afraid if I love it, I just won't be able to fit it into my schedule and then I…

I am a full-time working mom and I have two kiddos (an 11 year-old daughter and 9 year-old son). For me, the goal is not at all about being hot, but rather being fit and healthy  . I know for a fact that I am the strongest I have ever been and it feels GREAT! I love being able to do regular push-ups (no girlie knees…

Ever since I got my first car, they have always been stick! I remember my Dad repeatedly asking me, "Are you SURE you want a manual?" to which I replied, "YES" and or course he had to add that I was going to regret it and a few years later, I made sure to tell him that I have never once regretted buying manual cars!…

I check weight every day, but mostly because I am trying to see the ebbs and flows of the daily/weekly ups and downs now that I am into maintenance. I don't obssess over it though. In terms of measuring, I was doing every two weeks or so, but now to every month since things are slowing down and I know for a fact my waist…

I have definitely hit my goal weight (and even lower) but STILL have nice meaty hips and thighs! Don't think I can ever get to those measurements! Height - 5' 7.5" weight - 132 waist - 26 hips - 38 thighs - 23 If any one has advice on things to do to further tone up the lower half, that would be great!

9/1 - walking dogs, 4.0 mph, 55 minutes 9/2 - BodyCombat, 60 minutes; BodyPump, 60 minutes; walking dogs, 4.0 mph, 25 minutes (crazy day!) 9/3 - walking dogs, 4.0 mph, 60 minutes 9/4 - BodyCombat, 60 minutes; walking dogs, 4.0 mph, 17 minutes

I just recently borrowed a friend's HRM and the other day I decided to check it against the pedometer app I have on my phone, and from wearing the HRM twice on my nightly dog walks, I would say that both MFP and the pedometer app over estimate by about 30%. However, I still lost all of the weight I wanted to, but probably…

   No kidding! Wouldn't it be fun if you could kind of cut bits of an area off and place it in another! I have the same issue....If only I too could have taken what I lost on my thighs and planted it back on my chest! But no, instead I had to go out and buy some brand-new A-cup push-up bras! Congrats…

OK - question, so if 1 cup milk is called for, you will replace with equal portion of seltzer? and if one egg is called for, replace with one mashed banana? I'm intrigued as pancakes are my kids favourite weekend breakfast and I often make them only for the kids!

Have to say, really happy to be Canadian. It's just not in our mindset to even think about owning a gun (except for those that legitimately hunt). Everytime I head south of the border, upon my return home, I literally feel a sense of ease wash over me as we cross back into Canada. I could cross back into Canada miles away…

I'm in a position to hire (scientific staff), and yes, for me, it woud be something I would notice and although it wouldn't send a "don't hire this person", I'm not sure it would leave me with an overly positive impression either. Probably just because my field is generally conservative and is a regulated industry where…

^^ this is exactly what I do too. Seems to be working for me. YOu can usually get a lot of hits when you type "how many calories in xxxx".

The way I look at my day is "how can I get some activity/exercise in" so that I can eat! I have an 8-hour a day desk job, so I try and do workouts at lunch time most days and go to the gym twice a week. If I can't get a true "workout" in, I walk the dogs a bit more, mow the lawn, etc. to get some sort of burn for the day.…

A great thing that I found there to add to yogurt or on cereal are hemp hearts! Made by Manitoba Harvest. They have a great nutty flavour and add a nice crunch!
