Is this the one with Tom Brimeyer?

Thank you

I've read his book and from my own years of study and personal experience it has been on point. So much so I'm following his food plan with tremendous improvements. I'm hoping to find some other people to friend while we track each day.

I love being able to scan to add ingredients, even perimeter ingredients like fresh produce, meats, etc.

I just found that one, too! Do any of these you know of help you analyze your food log for gluten? I'd love to be able to either export my food log, or even key it into something and find any hidden gluten I'm consuming. I'm brand new to this world of trying to avoid gluten in my diet. :) Catherine

I was on Synthroid for 2 years. All of my blood work was "normal" but I still had every single symptom that sent me to the doc to begin with. After two years, I found STTM (Stop The Thyroid Madness - google it for the website, they also have a facebook group) and learned about NDT (Natural Dessicated Thyroid). My doc was…

Thanks y'all :) The Active Start program at the Y will give me access to a trainer for six sessions to oversee my progress. Our first meeting will have as assessment done on where I'm starting and he/she will teach me the equipment, how to use it properly and what is best for my goals. I'm still excited, but I'm definitely…

Well, can we say that was a flop! LOL I was totally in over my head, intimidated, and not ready for that! I looked around for a minute, walked straight to a treadmill, and did a 30 minute program. On the plus side I burned 190 cals :) But my goal was strength training not calories.... Oh well, I will have to rethink my…

I just wanted to throw out a cheer that I'm less than half a pound from my weight prior to the bump :) I knew it wouldn't stay long-term, but yes, it was a let down to see it. Since the high I posted about originally, it's been a steady decline back to where it should be. I look at the trends, not the fluctuations. I'm…

An HRM is what I was planning to get to see what exactly I'm burning at the piano. The calculators are probably pretty accurate b/c they are consistent between different ones. Maybe I'll borrow an HRM from a friend to get a picture of my non-typical actiities, but buy a fitbit to see about my TDEE. Thx again for your input…

I just used this phrase today in an earlier post: I weigh every day, but I don't get upset with the fluctuations. I know that will happen. I'm looking at the over all trends. More like the stock market. Your daily fluctuations are normal, what are your trends? I look at that to see if I have picked up some new thing I like…

Thanks so much :) I'm glad I found this group, as well!! I am still amazed from time to time at what garbage people choose to put into their bodies. I know I didn't have my amounts right, but I've always wanted to be healthy. I truly wasn't trying to be a very low cal eater, I just didn't listen to my body accurately. You…

I've read several places to redo your numbers after every 5 - 10 pounds of weight loss. I'd re-run my numbers and then see if you want to change the aggressiveness of it depending on how you feel about the numbers and if you will feel sustained. JMHO, Catherine

Thank you so much!!! :) Catherine

I will look into that! I’ve seen people on here mention that, but I really don’t even know what it is. If it will help me know what I’m burning just as I am moving around through the day that would help me TREMENDOUSLY!! Thx ☺ I’m certain I’m not a good one to learn from because I’m not the “norm”. What is working for me…

No offense taken ☺ There are many other factors that play into my weight gain over those 10 years, but this is the only factor remaining. I’m also hypothyroid, I was also pregnant 4 times (although those were my best weight times! LOL) and my weight has always been a roller coaster, not a steady incline. I’ve been on…

That is a good point. I actually was thinking I was building trust, but the way you say it I hear more like I'm just prolonging the mistrust... Hmmm, I wonder what my max gain would be if I went even farther up with my cals. If it weren't for this trip in September I wouldn't be worried about it. I'm just going to be in a…

You make some good points and observations :) I am a scale-obsessor, but I handle the minor ups and down on it just fine. It's the steep climbs that get me! LOL I actually find a peace in seeing the trends but plotting my weight as I notate when I have upped my cals and how long it usually is before I peak and the scale…

^^This! It's soooo much more accurate! PS. I leave mine in grams and have an "ounces to grams" converting tool on my quick links for the times I need to convert. http://www.metric-conversions.org/weight/ounces-to-grams.htm Makes it much easier to work grams... Catherine Edit to add that while I was in the beginning of…

I had a couple of thoughts as I looked at today's entries. First is that if you are done right now, you're still under your BMR and that is not good. Now, that is without knowing if you are including your exercise numbers or eating them back. Read this sticky on making sure you are always above your BMR…

Love the question! Piano - I recently started playing piano again in my church! Tenor Sax - Have always played through college and adult with some long periods of it staying in it's case as adult with intermittent pull it out and get active for a while. Bari, Alto, & Soprano Sax and flute while in jazz band in college, as…

I'm running a little behind right now. I have some ideas (we love veggie burritos - easy to make, full of nutrition - I make several veggie patties that even my husband likes - travel well), but I will have to log on later in the day to share more. Looking forward to reading everyone's input. Catherine

Thanks y'all!! :) I have been letting midnight be my switch, but I think I'm going to start letting it be sleep. Catherine

I'm new to it too! Where did you order it from? Catherine

That is the second time this week I have seen Tikka Masala, but I have no idea what it is! Please describe :D

I use ground turkey to make an italian turkey casserole. I use noodles, a couple of vegetables, broth, mozzerella cheese, italian seasonings, and sofrito all mixed together in a casserole dish. Then crush ritz crackers drizzled with butter for the topping. Bake at 350 about 20 minutes until bubbly and brown. My boys love…

I am the same way. I drink lots of green and white tea without adding a thing to it. I did track the type of tea for a long time along with the water quantity, but I quit doing that b/c the health benefits of the tea aren't something trackable in MFP. I my water and my tea. Once I hit my 8 cups I quit logging even though I…
