  • Hello again! While walking the dogs on our local Chase yesterday we saw 2 deer and 1 fox! I love it when we catch sight of the wildlife. It makes for a very special walk. Dogs stayed on lead on the field part just in case. They were not impressed so we walked further than usual instead! Walking on the Chase is my sanity!…
  • Just for today - I have logged on and in! Just come back from our dog training evening - two gorgeous border collie pups came on a socialisation visit - they start puppy class in two weeks time! So cute - chocolate box cover cute! I love being the welcomer! - During the second hour 4 dogs and their handlers achieved the…
  • Day 1 (again) for logging - it worked last time - why did I ever stop???? I am my own worst enemy! :'( I can't blame the winter totally (but I know that has a big effect on my eating and exercise habits). New resolution - made the decision that I must start logging my food and logging in here for support daily ...25th…
  • It's been a while but at last I've found you again and got hooked reading your posts! Nearly 2 hours later I really need to get to bed!!! My three dogs are looking at me as if to say - Mum it's time for bed! Yes, I know! - Have a good day! MA in UK
  • I love my kindle - I used to raid charity shops and take 10 + books with me on holiday - very cramped in a small caravan! I now can take my kindle and carry it around! I still like books and often go to book stalls at charity fairs etc, but the kindle gets my vote for portability and space saving.
  • Just found you all again. Must find my miles and log them so far! 52 miles so far this January! Dogs must be happy!
  • Good evening ladies - found you! - I look forward to catching up. MA in UK
  • Hi Everyone - found you again at last! Wow so many changes since I last logged in! I couldn't even find the message boards to begin with! Why did I have this week to be so crazy busy that I couldn't find time to post in community! Welcome to all the newbies - really good to hear from you. Keep posting! Hopefully, I will…
  • My start for the month 20 miles so far.
  • Yesterday's fun day went very well - the weather was fantastic - polo shirts in October - unheard of! Also it meant that some of our activities could take place outdoors which was great. We did a fun dog show in the morning - best trick, best rescue story that sort of thing, with adult agility and puppy agility courses, a…
  • What a fantastic post - such a lot to take in, but how true! That needs to go on a poster not just a post! Thank you for sharing. It's my daughter's 19th birthday tomorrow. She's asked for a mixer, instead of borrowing mine. She would really love a posh kitchenaid one, but is happy to have 'whatever'. She is always being…
  • How did I do? My SPIES goals for September were: Social - to log everyday, to see my sister twice this month, to contact friends who I've lost touch with recently with the time spent with my dad; I logged everyday - saw sister once only (but I have had a bad cough so missed one that had been arranged) - met up with one…
  • I'm with you... it is so much easier to keep up with the dogs when you don't feel like a sack of potatoes on wobble! I have a 10 year old English springer - spaniels are great! I also have two labradoodles who help at puppy training and are in the Display Team that goes round events and charity fairs to showcase how…
  • My sister went to her local Nuffield and loved it. Sadly, it was not close enough for me to make it - I went with her on a guest pass one evening and was very impressed - but the traveling stopped me joining her.
  • 5 more minutes of September here! 10 mins ago I just back from walking dogs to get my last 4 miles done - that's 100 miles walked in September - talk about cutting it fine! MA in UK
  • With 15 minutes of September to go I managed 100 miles in September. Must keep this up. Here's to another 100 in October.
  • Just got in from walking the dogs - did the 4 miles I had left! Yes - 100 miles! Roll on October...
  • Just read the Sasha McCandless books by Melissa F Miller on kindle. I like to follow through a series and get to know the lead characters so these suited my Friday evening 'curl up with a book' slots! And just brought the whole series of Cadfael by Ellis Peters - I've enjoyed the TV series - but not read the books so when…
  • Another 21 miles done this week. 2 days left to do 4 miles!
  • It's so easy to underestimate what you are eating, especially when you 'forget' to weigh it. It's better to log everything honestly, including the water that you drink, and learn what works for you and what racks the calories up. I lost the plot and have had to start again! I'm talking to myself! All the best on this…
  • Oh what a sad story. When I hear about the terrible things some dogs do to the others, I know that helping at a dog training centre, like I do, is well worth it - if we can get the 'a trained dog is a happy dog and has happy owners' message out to as many as possible, this dreadful issue will happen less frequently. Your…
  • I'm using the £1 in a jar - only I'm putting £1 in one for me and £1 in one for charity. If I gain then the £1 goes from my jar into the charity jar and I take longer to reach my 'you can take the money out and spend it' point when I reach the amount of my treat! I have had to start again as I lost the plot so this is…
  • Good question and some great answers. I'm making notes! I've found the mini packs of fruit-tellas which have 3 in each, for when I 'need' the chewy side of sweet. Thank you for the post!
  • Continuing to pray for you and your extended family. God has a very special duvet that he wraps around those who need his wrap around love at these difficult times. Feel it draped gently over your shoulders, and sink into it's softness. Bless you. Maryann
  • Happy Wednesday! I've just enjoyed two of my favourite TV programmes of the week! The Great British Bake Off and then Our Zoo! What a mixture! I don't bake myself but love the competition and the amazing creations that are produced. This week they did doughnuts and wow what interesting doughnuts. The only thing I make…
  • Another 20 miles clocked up!
  • I like the Malverns too = it's quite a trek to the top - well done - what a great idea to use it as a monitor for fitness. The first time I went (in 1988) we took our youth club on a weekend and one of the lads ran up and down it 5 times before breakfast! He was a fitness freak! He used to 'borrow' our dog at the time and…
  • Just worked out what DWTS is - here we call it Strictly Come Dancing!!! It is always up against X Factor - quite often don't catch either!! By choice I'd watch Strictly on the evening and catch up with X Factor later in weekend! As I can't dance or sing I admire those who can - or at least give it a go. Jesus Christ…
  • Happy Saturday everyone. What a busy weekend we have on the calendar! This morning we went on the Midlands Doodle Dash at a beautiful place called Coombe Abbey near Coventry. It was quite a drive and we had to be there for 11am! (Our local Doodle Dash is 1pm on a Sunday). Husband complained that he wouldn't get a Saturday…
  • Happy Wednesday Sometimes you just have to smile! As usual I have been helping at Youth Club by doing the register - the kids are Y5-Y7 rising 10 to rising 12 year olds. I love it. Today they made me laugh - they thought I was under 40 years old! Made my day nearly 15 years out! But 40 must seem ancient when you're that…
