  • There is an option of surgery to trim the disc so that it doesn't hit the nerve, but that is not something my doctor will recommend until every other option is exhausted since I can still work. Luckily it is getting better. I think the improvement started about 3 weeks ago. Currently the referring pain is gone. If they…
  • I dropped the ball and missed weigh in. Yesterday was a crazy day. At 7am our office starts an all day celebration for the accountants that became designated. Needless to say the evening portion had food and open bar. Good news: I heard back from the doctor. Bad news: I have multilevel degeneration and a posterior bulged…
  • Sorry team. I screwed up this week. Still no word from the doctor. Hopefully Monday.
  • 4, 5
  • CT scan was today. It took 5 minutes. Why is there such a long wait to get these? I get my results on Tuesday or Wednesday. If the doctor says no permanent damage than I'm going to start to ramp up the exercise. (Aka.. start exercising).
  • I haven't tried the inversion table. I thought I'd try the decompression belt since I can walk and work with it on. My CT is this Saturday, so hopefully I'll know soon what is the best course of action. Acupuncture has helped a lot.
  • I received by belt in the mail. I'm supposed to work up to wearing it for any duration. If this speeds up my recovery and decreases my pain meds I'll count it as money well spent. I'm eager to exercise "with" you.
  • Sorry everyone. I completely dropped the ball.
  • Oh, how I'd love to let my competitive side out. I've been held captive by this injury too long.
  • Alright, decompression belt ordered!! I won't get it for over a week though. I have high hopes this will get me working out again... or at least walking upright.
  • I can't bike yet. I might buy a decompression belt so that I can sit without pain so I can go on my recumbent bike.
  • I'm mentally excited to work out. But, my body just won't allow it. So, I'll try to motivate our team in the meantime. 2 weeks until my CT scan.
  • 1) Doing my exercise 2) Logging on everyday 3) Wearing my fitbit to help track steps and distances Need to work on: 1) Drink more water 2) Staying within calories
  • Sorry about my lack of chatter. I'll update my info today sometime. Probably this evening. I played street hockey for several hours yesterday for the first time in a year. My entire body is sore. Aches, pain and road rash.... but hell, I battled and led my team to victory... I guess... we will see as I limp around today. I…
  • I'm here too. I went for a nice walk with the dog today. It is gorgeous once again. How long will this weather last?
  • 2/5 belly dancing videos done. I feel uncoordinated and I can feel it in my obliques. However, I've mastered the turns. Maybe I'll open the blinds now that I'm on a role and let the neighbourhood enjoy my new found skill.
  • Food Analysis: Favorite Foods: Cereal (light brown, crunchy, easy) - portion control Granola bars (grown, crunchy/chewy, easy) - by healthy bars (less sweet = less cravings) Soups (all colors, easy) - minimize sodium Breakfast Sandwich (light brown, chewy, easy) - don't add sauce, add veggies instead Yogurt (white, soft,…
  • I probably crave protein more than carbs, but the root of my meals is always centered around ease due to lack of time. Plus, bbq season is upon us. The weather is looking beautiful here. Actually, my first poppy just bloomed in the backyard. It is a weird area in the middle of my lawn that has a couple poppies. I just…

  • Okay, I've uploaded my info. School consumed me this week (as you may have noticed by my disappearing act). I'll make sure I get my final 91 minutes in to reach the 10% minimum. But, as for the bonuses I really dropped the ball. I did post the egg recipe. However, I don't really cook, so it is pretty humorous what I posted…
  • I'm a terrible cook. My go to egg meals are a Costco breakfast sandwich. I usually separate the bun, meat/cheese and egg so I can take the bun out earlier so it doesn't get to hard from microwaving... and then microwave the rest until the cheese starts darkening. Or, I make a poached egg and add some red rooster sriracha.…
  • There is a minimum amount of calories you must consume before MFP does the calculation to say where your weight might be in 5 weeks if everyday was like today. This is to make sure the person isn't being unhealthy by starving himself or herself in order to lose weight. If you complete your day without the minimum amount…
  • I'm back home. My time away went well. I did a few runs along the seawall. It probably wasn't the best for my knees, but it was beautiful. My eating was good. I turned down all the free desserts and booze.
  • I'm definitely hitting up the hotel gym!!
  • I don't know how the weight loss is helping the team, but it sure feels good to see the scale going the right direction. This next week could be tough as I'm away from home again.
  • I updated the spreadsheet. I corrected a calculation and added a percent per person of the total distance. This will make sure we get everyone to 10%. Out of curiosity, do we get credit for surpassing the team goal?. Or is it capped at the distance?
  • I don't think we have to worry about Zmeplay. This popped up on my news feed... "zmeplay 5 hours ago We have two more days to complete our personal workout of 272 minutes for this week's challenge." "zmeplay 5 hours ago burned 183 calories doing 150 minutes of cardio exercises, including "Walking, 4.0 mph, very brisk…
  • Good News / Bad News I did a little calculation on our excel sheet. Good: We have over shot our destination of 4882 miles. Bad: However, I think (if I understand it correctly) everyone needs to do 10% of the the distance as a minimum. With 18 of us (is that right?, 18?) we each need a minimum of 272 miles (minutes).
