people have been fat-shamed since the dawn of time, yet obesity rates skyrocket... I don't think it's helping

I log fruit, for the sugar. But no, I don't bother logging veg. I will log if I used oil or butter to make the veg. Well one veg I do log is potatoes, which I try to limit anyway. But I think that's the only veg I bother logging.

Sometimes I feel like the only person on the planet who has never tried Jillian Michaels. Does she yell? I hate it when they yell it's so irritating and it's the reason I never really got into Tae Bo or whatever. I have Jackie Warner Xtreme Timesaver Training. It is really tough for me! I also have some Ballet Body DVDs.…

Well if you really don't care about anything but the number on the scale then no, there is no point in exercising. Weight loss comes from restricting calories... Just don't expect anyone here to support that approach, lol

Your mistake doesn't matter. It's what you do AFTER making a mistake that's most important. That's what I tell myself when I slip up. It helps me to not dwell on setbacks.

lol i weigh myself every day and always have. i don't make excuses for it because i don't give a ____. it's one of those old wives' tales about dieting: weigh yourself only once a week! don't eat after 8 pm! chew every bite 20 times! rme

I'm V. I'm 31, single, no kids. My highest weight was 405 pounds, that was back in May 2012. I've lost 40 lbs so far. I have always been fat. In my late 'teens I lost 60 pounds, which got me down to 150 - my lowest-ever 'adult' weight. But I only kept it off for about six months before gaining it all back and more. Since…

I'm shy and don't post or share much, but I wanted to at least say hello. I joined MFP in May at my all-time high of 405 pounds. Since then I have used this site religiously to track every morsel I've eaten and it's paying off - 40 lbs gone in three months. I'm excited for my first mini-milestone thingy: Once I've lost 20…

i know exactly how this feels. in the first week or so, i dropped a lot of weight (water im sure) then after that i was consistently losing at least 1 pound per week, usually 2 or 3. I thought, 'this is awesome i can totally live with this pace!' BUT then suddenly i was stuck on the same number for about a month and it…

Most of the scales on amazon go to 440 lbs. Just search 'scale' ... But DON'T buy EatSmart brand, which unfortunately the first several results of an amazon search are of that brand. If I were you I'd scroll past those lol. EatSmart is terrible in my experience. My mom's digital scale from the early 1980s worked better…

Thanks for the post. :) I have the Flat Belly Diet book and it says the same thing: Exercise, eat good foods (especially good fats), and limit salt & other crap which can make you bloated. I don't think this post is so outrageous to warrant all the snarky, special snowflake responses calling it a fraud, but whatever makes…

You need to see your doctor again. Make a list of questions before you go. Or maybe you could call the office and explain that you forgot to ask a few things. Maybe the doc can give you a quick call so you don't have to make another appointment? I'm not ragging on you for asking the internet, just saying: Don't listen to…

But it says "This equation will be very accurate in all but the very muscular (will under-estimate calorie needs) and the very fat (will over-estimate calorie needs). O_o

Yes you can, you can skip ahead in your food diary, just as you can go back to previous days. And I do acknowledge that I overate, at the bottom of the entry where you can add notes. It's not about guilt, it's just about making it easier (for me) to account for overages. :-)

This is a good idea, thanks. Seems less complicated than what I'm doing.

I'm wary of adding friends for this reason. I think some people (hopefully they are a small minority, but I don't know) want to add you just to creep your diary and judge you. Anyone who does that really has too much time on their hands. It's very odd behavior, when you think about it.
