  • From personal experience, I’ve been a yo yo dieter for over 7 years. Sometimes losing 30 lbs in a few months and then gaining that weight plus some in another few months. The last three times this year that I tried to lose weight, I lost maybe 3 lbs and after that my weight was just not budging. People said “oh you aren’t…
  • Thanks everyone for the insight! My mom had knee replacement surgery done and she had everything done within two months which was why I was a bit worried that it may interfere with my school internship. I’ve had a few other people I’ve found online also tell they had it 4-6 months after their first consultation too! 6…
  • Yes I saw that! I’m just so anxious and mostly everything is closed until Monday so I wanted to try and get a general answer sooner lol But thanks anyways!
  • I don’t have anything logged since I haven’t been here in months. My post was the only thing I’ve put up since April I believe.
  • Thanks for your input but I have a food scale and have been logging on and off for years. I’ve lost over 70 lbs in the past, so I’m sure the calorie counting isn’t off, and that I was not underestimating ^_^
  • =sigh= I made a long post but apparently it didn’t post up...tldr: thanks for the input, but I’m positive I’ve been calorie counting correctly and honestly. Also, my doctor told me I gained 25 lbs in one year which I’d never done in the last 8 years of going there. She recommended me to switch my birth control which could…
  • The first time about a month and half (which is semi short I know) and the second time was about 3 months. And I mean no movement at all in the scale, nothing at all x.x
  • Yep, the whole thing, and no, I’m not lying to myself about my caloric intake, I’ve lost weight many times before. My problem was never losing weight, it was keeping it off, as I would always stop my good habits and slowly gain it back. This time though, my problem is actually losing weight. I’ve been calorie counting off…
  • I don't think posting this in the Motivation and Support section is the right section for her to be posting this...She isn't even asking anything about motivation OR support o.O She's asking a general question about weight loss and pregnancy

  • I ended up just doing this basically, I just tried to keep moving lol and damn it was tough! Sometimes I could barely make 3 quarters of a lap and had to stop to catch my breath lol I really enjoyed it and didn't want to get out of the water :( I'm glad I found some cardio that I absolutely love! I felt all my muscles…
  • Running. I assume it's either from the bad arthritis my family has, or just my size. But my knees cannot take running or they ache in the most painful ways where I don't even want to get up from bed. I tried it once for about two weeks, tried upping my jogging a few minutes or two, and starting my third week I just…
  • I lost 30 lbs the first time I started MFP and the gym. My mistake was stopping. I stopped because I was lazy or "busy". I've learned I cannot lose weight without using MFP. My only thing I would change is telling myself not to stop, stop making excuses, and stop being lazy!
  • I use them for quick breakfast or a snack when I'm missing calories, but never necessarily as a meal replacement. I won't ever drink something instead of a meal for lunch or dinner. Breakfast is okay for me since im never hungry when waking up, so it's just enough to drink one.
  • Uhhh weight yourself after you poop lol you will weigh a little less lol
  • I don't eat back my exercise calories and haven't had this issue before in not doing so
  • I'm at a sedentary level and using the calories that Mfp has recommended for me at the moment. I don't do very much lately since I'm out of school and on summer vacation. Weight is 293ish lbs and height 5'7, female
  • Also, the day that this happened, my shoulders fell asleep while I was actually asleep and it woke me up because the tingly feeling was so bothersome! This is the area, along with my arms and back, that I feel really drained from despite me being sore from leg day yesterday..
  • You won't be affected by a one day mishap (especially that small) , just keep doing what you are doing :)

  • I don't believe it's that simple actually, there are lots of things that come into play with the body, just a few simple examples are bloating and or water retention. It can be temporary but it can also be longer depending on medications or other health issues.
  • I had read that by people commenting before and it is true but to an extent! Weight training helps to build muscle and it burns fat! Gaining muscle also increases your metabolism and burns more calories, so though it may be affecting me right now that I'm not seeing much weight loss at the moment, I've read that in the…
  • Thanks everyone!
  • I've made smoothies before and they are very filling for some reason..I'm not sure I would replace them as dinner, just because I like actual food, but breakfast I probably wouldn't mind. Especially on hot Texas days..
  • I lost almost 25 lbs in my first two and half months of dieting and exercise. I was eating like 1600-1800 calories and getting about 30-45 minutes of cardio and then weight lifting in 4-5 days per week. But keep in mind, I did weigh 280 lbs, and bigger people tend to lose weight faster at first.
  • Can't believe I didn't think of that myself... ~_~ lol
  • In my experience, the hunger from first starting our a diet or calorie counting generally goes away after the first two weeks or so.
  • That's one thing I don't do though, I do not follow any fad diets, I simply count calories and eat what I like as long as its within in my calorie range. Until I stop...and then gain weight again.. I know my problems/issues, its stopping them that I can't seem to do.
  • A week is very little time to see results, and results will not be linear throughout your weightloss. Give it more time to see results.
  • what? lol
  • I have this issue as well, but not as bad from the way you describe it. Someone told me about Overeaters Anonymous and I am going to my first meeting this Monday! Google it and see if there is anything in your area! I was shocked that they actually had something like this in my area
  • Also I'd like to mention that the first 5-10 lbs of weight loss are usually from water weight and poop weight. Whenever I start redieting, I always lose about 8 lbs within the first week. And then go at a steady pace of 1-2 lbs per week after that. It always always happens, and I know it's just water/poop weight. It's…
