I see a huge difference! Way to go!! I am stuck in a plateau. Going to the gym every day, alternating weight training with arms and legs (squats, lunges - no weight). I wish I could lose weight as quickly as you did! I can't budge past the first 10 lbs! I don't know what to do. I do cardio 30 mins at least 4 times a week.…

Your weightloss is incredible!! I have the same shape as you - saddlebags! How did you do this in a year? I lost 10 lbs and 2 inches on my hips pretty easily, but I have plateued. I do squats and lunges - should I add weight, or just more squats??

I wear a Polaris HRM with the belt sensor. That's the only real way to see how many calories you burned.

I have used this calculator to find my ideal calories for weightloss and to calculate the macro nutrients, and it has worked wonders! Have lost 2 lbs. already! Someone else had suggested it on the boards but can't find it now... http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

Don't know if you are into Pilates/Barre/Yoga/Ballet type stuff, but I am fully enjoying Core Fusion. Small, intense moves and results are visible and quick. Not a big calorie burner, but definitely a good stengthning and sculpting workout. Builds lean muscle. I've lost inches, but no weight on the scale.

The only thing that has ever helped me with my six pack is Pilates. Swear. Few sessions and my little muscles were peeking through.

Thanks for the advice Butterfly! I went to the gym yesterday, Did straight cardio. Went in with a BS of 150 and walked out 65! And it was moderate intensity, 40 minutes worth of cardio. I'm thinking maybe half a banana will be necessary next time.

Does anyone follow an exchange diet? I haven't been to a diabetic dietician in over a decade at least, so I don't know if my 1400 calorie exchange plan is even relevant anymore. I really need to figure out how many carbs per meal I should be eating. Getting an appointment with a dietician through Kaiser Permanenente has…

I always thought/was taught that the reason strength training, of any kind (not just lifting weights but advanced Pilates type exercise) burns more calories is because it burns calories for a longer period of time after the workout ends. It makes physiological sense. Truthfully I'd much rather do strength training than…

I guess because I am actually committed to exercising now, I didn't notice it until now. I am also going to buy a HRM to make sure I am staying in a healthy heart rate zone so I am not causing any weirdness in blood sugars.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad we're here to swap notes!

Thanks! I am very short 5'00" I do intermediate to advanced Pilates style workouts. Currently doing Core Fusion. and I do 30 minutes of cardio either HIIT on the treadmill or a DVD. Mostly I was worried about having the right amount of calories and having them plugged in right. I know I have to stay above my BMR at all…

Sorry, I meant can someone check my diary to see if I followed what I am suppose to be eating correctly. I have made my diary public now. Thanks a bunch!

I also have the Core Fusion 3 DVD set, but am doing the 30 day challenge DVD. I LOVE it! After a few sessions I already see results. Maybe we should start a group? Sandra
-
I'm doing Core Fusion also, DVDs though. I have been searching for the same answer. I imagine the calories aren't very high, but the intensity of the workout sure is. I consider it more of a strength training workout than aerobic or cardio.

I'm a shorty too. I am 5 ft. and I weigh 140 lbs. I don't necessarily care about the number on the scale, but I do care about my size. I am currently a size 10-12 and would be happiest at a 6-8. I am already losing inches so that's good. What are you all doing for exercise. I am doing cardio and Core Fusion. Love it!…

Thank you!!!!!! Got it.

I'm sorry for being so confused. I am not understanding where to put my Scooby calculator generated numbers in the MFP goals options. The only box I see that can be changed in MFP under goals is the net carbs. which number from Scooby goes there? BMR, TDEE, or the Cut number?
-
So what do I put in the box for net calories in the MFP custom goals page?
-
Thanks! But is my BMR my net calories goal?

I am one of those tiny waist, big butt girls. Yes, not a bad look at all ; ) but I would rather have the shape of a teaspoon than a ladle. I find when I do too much cardio on the machines I do bulk up. So many people, including a weightlifter friend tell me I am crazy and that the only way to lose fat is cardio. I call BS.…

I just can't figure out where to put the Scobby numbers into my goals here on MFP

Fitnesssocial, I have no idea what my macros were. I am so used to carb exchanges. Can you recommend a calculator or something to help me plan for a 40/30/30 macro ratio?
-
Thanks leanne2376, I have followed low GI for a long time because I know it definitely helps maintain blood sugars. What I am currently eating actually has been fantastic for my blood sugars. Better than ever actually. I just wish it would show up on my scale or the fit of my clothes.

Imchicbad, Well you lost a lb a week! That's great! I have been working out for 4 weeks, tracking calories, reduced to 1300 calories, and nothing! Well I lost 1.5 inches from my waist. Wish it were my hips and thighs. LOL. I'm curious, did you follow the food allowences here or did your trainer give you a plan? I am…

under weight, swollen belly and food intolerances or allergies are symptoms of Celiac's Disease. Definitely see a doctor.

Pinky! I am 37 and also have Type 1 Diabetes AND RA. Quite a 1, 2 punch huh? Glad to meet someone else with 2 auto-immune illnesses. BTW, do you have any food allergies or intolerances as well? Celiacs is apparently common amongst people with type 1 and RA. Sandra
