I know what you mean. I am in the same boat. When I record my food and do my exercise, I lose. Then I feel so good, but then I slip back into my old ways and back on it comes. Let's make ourselves accountable.

Farmers always used to have potatoes sprouting before spring. We just broke the sprouts off and ate them. If they tend to turn dark when you cook them, just add a little vinegar to the water.

I am 70 years young and I have been battling this weight since I was 10. But I am not ready to give up and I am trying to lose weight for health reasons now. I would be happy to be your friend.

I know how you feel. I find November dreary and depressing. I have time on my hands and I start eating. Once I start it just keeps on. I really know better but I just can't seem to get back in the groove.

I have had both knees totally replaced and I am so glad I did it. It does take time...like weeks and even months to get your full leg strength back, but it does work. Just do the physio and be patient. I had one done in 2012 and one in 2013,

I am trying to get back to logging my food and I think I had best do it now...not after the holidays. If I don;t I will have an extra 5 or 10 lbs to lose and I sure don't need that. Thanks for starting the group.

Hi. I am 67 and in a long battle with my weight. I try to remember that some days I lose the battle, but unless I quit, I have not lost the war. Today I have resolved to eat only fruit, veggies or low cal yogurt for snacks. I have a bad habit of eating more for snacks than for meals.Add me as a friend if you like and good…

I had knee surgery in January. I found that I was not very hungry for the first couple of weeks and acutually lost a few pounds. When my appetite improved I tried to eat mainly healthy foods and not too many snacks. Because my leg hurt, I didn;t get up to get snacks very often...that was some help.. Just eat what you need…

It sounds like you are very depressed, I have been there many times. I do find it helps to find something to keep you thinking of others or at least something you enjoy doing. And the most important thing is to find somebody to talk to...someone who will listen and not judge... maybe a friend, teacher , pastor or relative.…

You are doing great. What a difference in the two pics.

You see my white hair. I can tell you men never change. What you see is what you get.

I read a good line on here yesterday. It said "If you are tired of starting over, then stop quitting." I keep thinking of this when I am tempted. Maybe that will help.

Can't sy I have lost a lot of weight, but I have learned to live with fibromyalgia. I try to keep busy and not think about the pain. Sometimes I need to take it easy for a day or two when it really flares. Mostly I think that exercise helps me by loosening up my muscles. When I eat healthy, I feel better ...but I guess…

okay, I am in. I try to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water every day. It gets easier if you increase it gradually.

I have many years of experiencing depression. I finally went for real help a few years ago. It was hard to get councilling since I live a long way from the city. But with a combination of medicine and talking, things are so much better now. I still struggle with emotional eating and sometimes a return of the blues, but now…

Thanks for posting this. I know I should eat more protein and less carbs. This article reinforces my determination to change the way I eat.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to brush your teeth and tell yourself that is the end of eating for the day. If you can just go to bed when the cravings start at night, that will probably help. I have been reading on this thread that some of us have to go "cold Turkey"...just don't have that first bite of junk or sugar.…

was outside all morning, so it was easy not to ear. Now I am in the house, alone, and food is calling me. I will wait a while and try to keep busy. Maybe it (the cravings) will go away. At least I will have some more time without eating.

Be strong.

Good for you, Megan. I did pretty good today but had a small binge...eating way more peanut butter than I planned to. Now I am going to bed. I do not eat after I go to bed. Maybe I should go to bed right after supper.

Sounds like good advise!

You are at the right place. Mfp can help you lose weight in a healthy manner. It is definitely a life style change not a diet. Stick with it and you will lose pounds. Be patient and take one day at a time.

Thanks for the info...I think this will help me remember why I am doing this.

Sometimes it just takes longer to show a change. If you keep eating right and exercising, it will come off. Hang in there!
