  • First thing is talk to a Doctor to make sure you do not have a condition they need to address. I can say that taking glucosamine has helped me with my wrist pain caused by a couple injuries. My chiropractor recommended it to me. The adjustments would help but would not "stick" after 3 months of glucosamine I am almost pain…
  • I also just enter recipes into recipe builder and measure finished product in cups and make a cup a serving. If I want fewer calories as my serving then I measure accordingly. It wont be exact but it will be close enough.
  • First, I wish I could reach through the computer and give you a GIANT HUG!!! Second thank you for sharing your story with a bunch of complete strangers all on a journey to a healthy lifestyle. I am so sorry about the loss of your niece and that you were not able to have an emotional connection with your family. I cannot…
  • i would be feeling sorry for myself while being jealous of the skinny girls as I sat stuffing my face with a bag of Oreos (double stuffed), a Pint of Ben & Jerry's and a bag of potato chips (the big bag). all while looking forward to the chocolate bar in my purse that i would dip in a jar of peanut butter. needless to say…
  • yeah right! No can do since my drawers would be around my ankles on the floor! That is not an appropriate photo.
  • i only use it in smoothies. anything else and i would rather have the real deal
  • Undiagnosed thyroid condition perhaps? Before I was diagnosed and properly medicated I was tired all the time even though I had adequate sleep. Check with doctor.
  • I am not yet hardcore and as soon as snow flies it too cold for me. I'm ok doing alternate indoor workouts till the thaw!
  • Awesome but I think mine was 16,758 :glasses:
  • When I say workouts are for fitness I mean we need to watch what we eat too. Not eat crap and expect to just workout like crazy people to make up for it. We shouldn't rely on our workouts to bail us out from an unhealthy diet. Also we cannot spot reduce. Doing ab work ≠ ab fat loss! I burn waaaay less doing the ab workout…
  • And to think I almost bought a jar of pickles yesterday!! Anyway its temporary weight gain IF it was indeed caused by that pickle. Don't worry about it. I have weighed as much as 5 pounds from morning to night ( when I obsessed over the scale) We need to STOP weighing ourselves every freakin' day!!!
  • Its only a 25 minute workout! So 140 calories in that time is decent! I don't think your hrm is broken. I know since getting healthier my resting heart rate has reduced too, also resulting in a lower burn. I guess if you want to burn more then workout more. The workouts are for fitness anyway not for losing weight. Edited…
  • Replace with any other food. There is not rule that says we must only eat "breakfast type foods" in morning or for our 1st meal of the day. Personally I have given up cold cereal since I discovered when I eat it I am crazy hungry in a short amount of time and then I eat eat eat! I was not eating sugary cereals either. I…
  • Wow!! Really!! I'm so happy that those of you that feel there is no such thing as food addiction have never had to deal with it. Its not a sob story as someone put it or a simple lack of willpower. Nothing like getting up on your high horse and looking down on others for having there personal struggles! Just because YOU…
  • ^^^^AGREE^^^^ I really wanted to like them but nope not good at all. I will just eat regular pasta less frequently. I tried the rinse and 'dry' fry method but still awful and rubbery!
  • Just keep at it and do your best. I am in the final week of Alpha phase and its taken me almost twice as long. I repeated week 1 and took extra rest days here and there too. Week 5 is just killing me cause it has total body circuit 3 X's and that one is very challenging for me. I can tell I have improved but I tell you I…
  • I can understand using cleaning on occasion for big jobs...not regular day to day kind of stuff. Heck I count mowing lawn, raking leaves and shoveling snow too. The way i look at it is i got obese and maintained my obesity all while still doing housework. I dont count running errands like shopping either. I don't quite…
  • When I followed the program it stated to do it 3 days per week with a rest day after a jog day. I did M-W-F most weeks Here is the link to the online version I followed ( I don't have smart phone so I just used stop watch and my brain to remember routine) http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
  • I take mine 1st thing in the morning w/ 2 glasses of water. I then go workout and eat about 2 hours later. I make sure to take my vitamins about 4 hours after my thyroid meds. I have always had a hard time eating upon waking (I get nauseous) so I always wait to eat anyway.
  • Interesting but I must try, thanks
  • LaCroix sparkling water. No sweetener no sodium no calories. They have several flavors. My favorite is coconut
  • I used to order a cafe latte in winter and iced cafe latte in summer but I have been cutting down on the milk and now order the iced coffee unsweetened w/ 2% milk venti size is only 60 calories. I'm working up to eventually being able to drink my coffee black but it may not ever happen.
  • Unfortunately the reason for this is mostly budget. the majority of todays children also eat meals similar to this at home so even if the schools gave them healthy options it would go to waste! Its sad. They still should have fresh fruit yogurts and salad options made available.
  • Strength and endurance ARE results!
  • Just a suggestion but try using a stronger type of cheese. Like extra sharp cheddar vs a mild, the stronger flavor allows you to use less and still get the flavor. On salads opt for feta or a blue cheese.
  • Hey there... As one of your friends i am proud of you too! Congrats on being ready to step into "Onederland". You are working hard and you should feel very proud! I have seen huge differences from less than 10 pounds before to. As you get closer to your goal you may see changes happen quicker. They are not always on the…
  • Honestly you are overthinking it. Just eat the egg and log it as 1 egg ( large, jumbo, medium etc.) I also weigh out food but I don't worry about the weight of an egg. Worry about the measurements that will make a big difference (peanut butter, oil, butter, etc) its way easier to add say an extra 100 calories of those things…
  • OREOS!!! I cannot have them in the house ever again! An open package is an empty package. If I want one I will buy the snack pack at checkout. I have done this only once in the past year.
  • My grand total equals the worlds largest ball of tape plus 1 guinea pig! Since joining MFP its an Irish setter plus that 1 guinea pig.
